Soldier is one of the saddest characters in overwatch cause he was a true captain America of the world, founding overwatch as the ultimate global Boy Scout group that did truly incredible things, but as the criminals got worse he let his desire to protect the world take over and tried to play both the hero face and the shadowy guardian, and as a result brought his own organisation down on his head. He hates himself and the world and wants to die, but all he knows how to do is fight.

Kiriko is my favorite character conceptually so far. Her cinematic is also the best by far. Her personality is also lovable because of hiw casual she is, until someone messes with the people she holds dear to her. I feel like out of all the characters in the game she's the most relatable for us.

just so you know, "Cassidy" was before called "Jesse McCree" and just "McCree" in the game. After the scandal at blizzard that broke out about some s*xual harrsment performed by asome member of the staff, well... they tried to remove as much as possible of their contributions in the games. Turns out one of those douchebags litterally gave his whole name to the character ! They couldn't allow to have one of their former staff members fired on harrasment charges to give his name to one of the most played characters in one of their most popular games, so they changed it to Cassidy, and pulled up some lore BS to justify it... which didn't really work tbh I'm still calling it a "Cree" in game by force of habit as it was one of my mains

fun fact, Ashe's character was created for this short. The dev team liked her design so much that they worked her into an upcoming hero. Her ult voiceline was taken directly from this short as well, rather than the other way around.

Doomfist and Efi (and therefore Orisa) are all from Numbani, a fictional west African country in the Overwatch universe. It's also one of the maps in game. The payload on it used to have the gauntlet. Then it got stolen (you could see the payload having been broken into) and then Doomfist attacked, resulting in that airport being destroyed along with the OR-15s as you could see in Orisa's origin story where Efi stands in the destroyed airport. So the map got several changes throughout the game in anticipation of the releases of Orisa and Doomfist.

Blizzard should seriously start making feature-length films like this. They have great IPs like Warcraft, Starcraft, Overwatch, and Diablo, andheir games have sucked in recent years anyway, so why not branch out?

Ramattra has suchhh good voice lines, he’s such a well written anti hero. And honestly, most of his criticisms of humanity are unfortunately accurate. He truly wanted peace and waging war was his last resort after he was hardened by humans’ bad treatment of Omnics. He has biases against humans but it’s more about the bad qualities of human nature and hate, he doesn’t hate everyone just because they’re human Some of his voicelines criticise aspects of human nature like “I will speak to you in a language you understand, violence” and how he wants them to “Suffer, as I have”
