Ben and Marissa
United States
Приєднався 4 січ 2020
We are simply Ben & Marissa, no fancy title. I am going to use this channel to upload our adventures before, during, and after we travel the US in our Wolf Pup camper. Please subscribe and follow our journey.
Barrow/Ukpiagvik, AK \\ Most northern town in US \\ Polar Bear plunge in cold Arctic Ocean \\ T08-076
We flew to Ukpiagvik, Alaska on Alaska Airlines. Ukpiagvik use to be known as Barrow. This is the most northern town in the United States. I first learn about Barrow from the news broadcast in 1988 about 3 humpback whales that were being recued after they were trapped under ice with no path back to the ocean. I had almost forgotten about Barrow until film makers made a movie, of their version, about these whales in the movie Big Miracle (2012). What better place to do the Polar Bear plunge than in a part of the Artic Ocean where Polar Bears actually swim.

Surfing a Bore Tide in Alaska \\ Turnagain Arm \\ Beluga Whales \\ [T08-075]
Переглядів 5219 годин тому
We enjoyed the thrill of witnessing a bore tide along the Turnagain Arm and seeing Beluga Whales The bore tide is a spectacular sight, a wave up to 10 feet high, that thunders into Turnagain Arm just south of Anchorage in the right tide conditions. The one we saw was more than the expected 30 inches. It was great to see this dramatic show of nature’s power from the Seward Highway. The bore tide...
Top of the World flight over Denali National Park \\ K2 Aviation \\ Landing on Ruth Glacier [T08-074]
Переглядів 15День тому
One of our check list items while visiting Alaska was to take an airplane ride and see it from above. We did this with K2 Aviation on there Top of the World flight. We did not get to see the top of the mountain due to cloud cover. We did land on a glacier which was the highlight of the trip.
Denali National Park and Preserve \\ T08-073
Переглядів 13День тому
When we visited Denali National Park and Preserve, we stayed in in the Teklanika Campground. On our second day there, we took a bus to East Fork which at that time was as far as we could go in. We were blessed with another wonderful clear day and got great views of the mountain and hills.

T08-070 Valdez, Alaska
Переглядів 1014 днів тому
We went back to Valdez; we love it that much. We are still too early to see the fish hatcher in full action. I did catch four nice salmon which make my $100 for a non-resident fishing license not a complete loss. We did a day trip back up to Thompson Pass where we will also spend the night on our way out. It is always lovely to drive through the beautiful Keystone Canyon and see the many waterf...
T08-069 The Road to Valdez, again! This time on a different route, different part of the summer

There is so much we want to experience in Valdez, Alaska. It will take this second trip and even another trip as things happen at different times.
T08-068 Fairbanks, Alaska | Riverboat Discovery | We experienced minus 65 degrees below zero.
Переглядів 1914 днів тому
An amazing experience in Fairbanks is the Riverboat Discovery adventure. We rode in an actual paddle wheel boat down the river. Part of the adventure include seeing a float plane land and take off right beside the boat. Our boat stopped at a sled dog kennel, and we heard their story. Most exciting was a native village where we got off and were taught a lot of things by first nation people. Ther...
T08-067 Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve | Eagle, Alaska | Natural Spring water.
Переглядів 1314 днів тому
We left Dawson City, Yukon Canada and came back to Alaska. After driving through Chicken, Alaska again, we took the road to Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve, which is managed by the National Parks Service and the Bureau of Land Management. This road is a 66 mile each way of dirt and gravel, after driving the Dalton and Dempster highways we were used to this. The site was worth the visit p...

Dawson City, like many old western towns in the US, has its own charm. It is a beautiful city and worth spending some time there instead of just driving through.

Again, we cross the Arctic Circle, then drive through the lovely town of Inuvik in the Northwestern Territories of Canada. Before finding a place to sleep for a while we stay up past 2:00 am to watch the sun not set, this on...

T08-062 Big Delta State Historical Park, Delta Junction, Alaska
Переглядів 1721 день тому
The Big Delta State Historical Park is another part of Alaska history that too few people stop to see. We will stop in this area on the way back as there is a great place to see how the Alaska Pipeline is bridged across a river.

T08-050 Last days in Anchorage, Alaska and Visiting Girdwood, Alaska
Thinking about american bad quality cars, wouldnt it be better for the environment to save these cars as a stock of spare parts instead of destroying them? Even ski-jumping is more fun to watch.
You both are now Blue Noses. Crossed the Article Circle.
I worked out at the Sheep Creek pipeline camp back in the day. About a 1/2 hour drive from Valdez. And at the camp by the little airport owned/managed by Kennedy? at that time. Quite a beautiful area. I was in my early twenties then, and was there working as a bullcook ( camp maintenance) for a total of, um, 9 months maybe? Late summer, winter and spring as I recall. 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off was the work cycle. Loved the area and the time I spent there...
Nice video!! What month did you all visit Alaska?
We got her on May 7th and won't leave until sometime in September.
@@BenAndMarissa Cool trying to get an idea about the weather. We will be visiting at the beginning of September. Thx
👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 that why you need have remove bottom trees because peoples can't see thorugh block bottom by trees and better clear out view no bottom trees and do you understand what i said huh
The Chevy square body ended it for me, they went to far, its over.
‘merica, just saying
Launch new car.
sleepy
Some great video there ben I love how some of them ejected their engines
I was there!!!!
Would you go again? IS there a place to camp there?
@@jayblazek I would go again, but I wish I would have been better prepared last time. You should certainly try to get there early, as otherwise you'll likely end up parking on the shoulder of the highway about 3 miles away from the actual place and having to walk there. You should also bring your own food because the prices there are ridiculous with insane wait times. Those are really my only suggestions though, good luck.
@@jayblazek Also there are plenty of places to camp.
Great job man! 🤙🇨🇦
I feel like you should improve the safety involved and limit power in cars.
I was thinking more power!!🤣🤣 God bless!!
Safety is overrated!!!!
Just make everybody wear hard hats 😅
@@adamwatson7659 I was up on the mountain and pretty close to the cars lmao. You can see me recording in a few clips. I think they need to make em powerful enough to hit the water without fail 😂
I was thinking are you kidding? You must be a safety guy on a job somewhere
Cool video. Please watch Dragon off-road 2023 car launch video. Thanks.
Would love to watch this live.
awesome video!
We were there 2 weeks ago, nice tour
What an impressive museum .Thank you. I could spend a long time in that building I would think.
Pioneer park is pretty much a whole lotta nothing..best thing in it is the Air museum and the riverboat...the rest is tired tourist-trap hokey carny-grade tackiness. Not much truly interesting and worth while in Fairbanks proper Save your $$ and time and don't bother going north of Denali Park. Fairbanks is mostly a tourist-trap surviving off the military and shaking down the tourists for every last dime they can squeeze out of them, but thats most of Alaska in a nutshell. When you leave, your wallet will be much much lighter. Stick to the parts of the state south of the Alaska range and along the coast and at least you will get more value for your time and $$.
Definitely awesome to view on our 65” tv!
Beautiful scenery! But I’m glad I’m where it’s warm. 😀
Thanks for sharing. Great video! #loveboatcruising Angie
Hi Dear, I saw your UA-cam channel video and understood that Very nice video. You have 12 subscribers but videos are not more watched and subscribers because your video is not SEO. I have analyzed and realized that your UA-cam channel is not progressing and improving. It is responsible for: 1. Channel videos are not properly SEO 2. Videos are not reaching the people 2. There is no rank tag in the Video 3. Video SEO score is 00 out of 100 but SEO score should be 90+ to rank video 5. Channels tags not good quality 6. No video tag and other technical problems Do you want all the problems solved? I can help you.
Very nice wood carvings.
Beautiful scenery!
Safe travels!! The gremlins in the Yukon are looking forward to catching you. May you live long and prosper… at least long enough to share some videos. 😂
Lombard St in SF would compare to crookedest street.😀 Definitely better have good brakes on Lombard.
Thanks for that information. I've added it to our list of places to see. I enjoy reading your comments!
Love those murals! That’s beautiful art! And, REAL men do quilt! 😀
Egyptian walk… practice practice practice!! 😂
I hope the wildfires didn't affect it
Wow i might go here
I lived in Marissa from 1960/88. It was once a thriving community, up until the Coal industry started making changes.
