Gods... I know people like the coffee theory with Azzy's change in character, but the story is better if that isn't the case. I think it's more religious trauma and a toxic parent child relationship. Heaven is giving Azzy a shred of attention and affermation, and he goes running back to it. Because he truly thinks he can change things...
