We’ve been camping now for a long time. Like everyone we started with the bare essentials - a tent, gas cooker and simple lighting along with the good old esky. We’ve tried and tested countless items from different brands over the years and value products that can serve multiple functions in one package. One product we find is an essential inclusion to our camping gear now is a quality camp fridge.

This firdge comes in either a 60L single zone or 75L dual zone version. This one holds an impressive 75L across two compartments. Each compartment can be set to either fridge or freezer with individual touch button temperature controls on the LED display panel and can be shut down separately if not required. It is powered by a dual speed SECOP compressor. Its low profile design allows the fridge to fit under ute covers and canopies and the carry handles fold back neatly into the side walls, saving space and making it easy to pack gear around it.
The fridge lids are dual direction, meaning they open from both sides and can be removed entirely if needed. Each fridge compartment has internal LED lighting as well as an easy access bung in the base for easy cleaning and drainage. There is also a handy bottle opener located on both sides of the fridge!
What makes us most impressed with this fridge is the integrated Lithium battery. The battery is removable and can act as a power pack and includes two USB charging ports. The fridge will run for 16 hours on a single charge and is able to run on 240V, which will charge the battery at the same time. There are also direct solar connections on the fridge for plugging in your solar panel for an extended run time.
The power connections are found on both sides of the fridge, so no matter which way you have the fridge sitting in the back of your car or ute, you can access the connections with ease.
We've got the Companion fridge cover to protect the fridge, but it does so much more! The cover provides a layer of insulation that keeps the cool in and the heat out. It improves efficiency, allowing a much longer run time. The cover design allows easy access to all sockets, the display panel and battery compartment cover as well as to the floor drain plugs.
Companion Leisure also produces a range of a solar chargers (this one is 120w), which integrates perfectly with the fridge. The solar charger comes with a regulator that suits the Lithium battery in the unit. Multiple chargers can be linked to provide a greater overall charge. The charger is foldable, with three panels that include inbuilt adjustable stands to allow the panels to be tilted towards the sun for maximum power.
The charging panels are protected with EFTE lamination to improve weather resistance. It includes all cables including Anderson extension cables that can be stored in the handy storage pouch on the front of the charger unit.
With our large family of 5, space and functionality are always top priorities. This combination of the Companion Leisure 12V Lithium 75L dual zone fridge, fridge cover and 120W collapsible solar charger tick a lot of boxes and will serve our family well for years to come!
