Creating a Miniature Rose Sword and Stained Wooden Name Cut-Out
I created a unique Christmas gift by cutting out the name Rose from a piece of poplar wood and staining it with an oil-based cabernet wood stain. The rope trim was stained with the same cabernet stain as well. The base piece was stained with dark walnut Danish oil. The rose sword was cut from a piece of scrap metal laying around my shop, and affixed with a mini rose using epoxy. I used green string for the handle - trying to give the appearance of a rose bouquet. It was top coated with polyurethane, and finished off with a layer of wax.

Creating a Beautiful Wooden Art Project for a Beautiful Julia
Переглядів 25919 годин тому
I created a unique wooden art project by using some scrap wood laying around my shop. I used a scroll saw to cut the name out, refined it with a Dremel, and sanded it smooth. The base it's sitting on is the end piece of a 2x8. Both stained using dark walnut Danish oil. The rope trim piece was colored using cabernet wood stain. Top coated with polyurethane, and finally 3 mini roses epoxied to co...
Creating a Miniature Buster Sword from Final Fantasy 7

I made a mini Buster Sword from Final Fantasy 7 for a buddy of mine. This was one of his and my favorite games growing up, so I figured why not create something memorable as a Christmas gift for him. The sword was made from a piece of scrap metal lying around my shop. The wooden stand was made from the end piece of a 2x8 and a small wooden dowel, all stained with dark walnut Danish oil, and top...

I got creative and decided to make a friend a miniature battle axe with some scrap materials I had laying around my shop. It's not perfect, but I'm also somewhat new to this hobby and learned quite a bit during the process. The stand is made from an end piece of a 2 x 6 and a small piece of a wooden dowel. I stained the wood with dark walnut Danish oil. I think it came out pretty nice consideri...

    This one is better . Like the way you used the dark trim to separate the name from the base.

    Should have stained the name in a lighter color.

    Need to work on details of name. My wife's name is Rose and that needed more work.

      I appreciate the critiques. Being that this was my second time attempting a project like this, I have much to learn. What advice do you have for refinement on the name, and what sort of stain would you recommend I should have used?

      @anthonybrannon2611 День тому

      @LancePorter88 should have drilled a hole between the o and the s at the base and refined the difference between the two. I just as an example, wold have used a kighter wood stain for the name. Personal preference.

      Thank you! With patience and consistency even the most stubborn dogs can learn. My advice - only give out treats during training, positive reinforcement, train 2 - 3 times daily, and no more than 10 minute sessions at a time.

    I love woodworking also. I really enjoy house trim including wainscoting and offered ceilings. Doing small tedious work will make you standout when Doing larger trim pieces. So many trim guys get a miter cut so loose you have to caulk it with 1/4 bead. Nice work. I'm also glad you are wearing a mask. That's the one area i need to improve on. Can't wait to see more of your videos.
