This was actually a short story and written differently. The main characters weren't nearly as likeable. They were fueding, Also, the gal who was about to drink the blood all, the character is pregnant. You can view her holding her belly when Amos is at the cornfield. I saw this as a young teen back in the 80s and it scared me. Mostly the beginning. Courtney Gaines as Malachi, He was popular back in the day and that character was freaky.

You're right about the subject, and it was considered kind of a daring subject at the time for these innocent looking young girls ( bear in mind they'd already been around for a year or two when they were on this show.) Some radio stations actually wouldn't play this record, though of course that can help make a record a hit.

My family lived in Bodega Bay for many years. The waitress in the dark framed glasses was modeled after my grandma Elsie Steen,who worked at the Tides restaurant in the sixties. My auntie was a young girl then and said Hitchcock stopped his limo one morning when kids were waiting for the school bus, and gave them all candy.
