Musical sketchbook and auditory oddment museum.
Sounds for the soundtrack of the movie you're watching pass you by every day.
It may be wistful, bland, uninteresting, noisy, angry, happy, exacerbating and hopefully make you think it's okay to be whatever that day. Don't expect this week to be like last week and don't expect this week to not be like a previous week. Ideas come and go and come again. Much like the doodles in a sketchbook. I have a lot of fun goofing around with sound and just listening to sound is a big part of me being happy.
Hopefully, it inspires you to make some sounds and enjoy listening to yourself or others. Listen to that soundtrack in your head and enjoy whatever it is that day.

Earthquaker Westwood Chase Bliss Reverse Mode C BOSS RE-20 I was looking for a different sound and then the AM radio came on. I think the thing I like about the Chase Bliss Reverse Mode C is it is very responsive to pick attack (ducking) so the delay effect can be big or subtle as you like it. Hopefully that comes through in this doodle.

Some serious goofing around with the Dr. Scientist Bitquest algorithms. Another Dr. Scientist Bitquest experimental track. Letting the two tracks weave a little bit with louder and quieter sections from both. This is probably a more difficult listen as the backdrop is really pulling your ear off the rhythm guitar part. Need to work on that aspect of the filtering on the Bitquest. Dr. Scientist Bitquest and BOSS SL-2. Two of my favourite pedals to goofball together. Use the filter algorithm on the Bitquest as a tone generator (max CTRL 2) then feed that into the BOSS SL-2. Tempo and balance very low. It takes a bit of fiddling to get the levels right so that what you play against the sequence will come out, but when it works it is a lot of fun. The death of Steve Albini was a bit of shock. I loved Pixies and Breeders and PJ Harvey and it just seemed sad because a lot of music that may not have seen the light of day, or at least not in the more raw like the live band that Steve appreciated exists because of that. So I listened to all the tracks in a New York Times article about essential Steve Albini as engineer recordings. Then I sat ...

Western style. Just messing with the BOSS RE-20 feeding into the GFI Specular Tempus. A lot decay time on the Tempus, just a bit more than slapback length on the RE-20. Some amp tremolo. I was fiddling with the Earthquaker Westwood with the drive on 0 to give a more AM radio feel, but then switched it off and played this. 1998 Gibson Les Paul DC BOSS RE-20 GFI Specular Tempus (Spatium algorithm...

Beauty of a track!
These stop animation videos you make are really awesome. I love the Big Chewy Tremolo! 💜☕🥓
Spacy. And a bit Chinese-sounding, too.
Yeah! Nice one...I don't even need the video. ❤❤❤
Что это.
Ambient and indie based guitar played live with some random visuals.
My algorithm must be blessed, this isn’t what I was looking for but surely meant to find. Love the music and accompanying visuals. Keep up the good work, I look forward to experiencing more!
Beautiful! So much space..❤️
I feel that this self aggrandizing fuzz has alienated me from the rest of humanity, plus my cat is hiding under the couch and is hissing at me...😊❤
That's nice. Chill and ethereal. Did you get some of these sounds with your guitar? 😎
All guitar, single track. Adineko for the warbly delay and then the Specular Tempus for a lot of reverb decay. Then just a light touch and get lost in listening to it. Not many people get how I can get lost in single notes even when there’s no effects, but I’ll just listen to the note decay and it is happy.
@HomeInMyShoes the Adineko that the one you, fardy and chris777 we're talking about today. I have a ad9 and a Tiesco delay. The seafoam green one. They're alot of fun.
@@mike-bt8bq I think we were talking about the RE-20 and original Space Echoes. That's my favourite delay overall. I've had the Teisco on my list forever as well as the Teisco fuzz, but there's always something else it seems. The Adineko is it's own swirly thing really. It's wonderful, but not something everyone loves. Pair it with the RE-20 with both very short on the delay side and I can get my favourite slapback sound. This video is a good sample of the swirly reverb it generates when you push it closer to oscillation. It also has a pre-amp for a gritty sound. I keep thinking I can maybe sell it, but then I'll sit and play and listen and it's not going anywhere. ua-cam.com/video/gzs1IPXHT6o/v-deo.html
Wow I like how the guitar comes in. Real nice rhythm playing. ☕
Thanks. It was such a simple little thing, adding in that jazz chord an acquaintance suggested which just really ramped up a very introspective feel for me and I got a reasonable acoustic kind of sound out of it.
nice
Thanks so much.
I love the sound on this one. Open clear and spacious..))))((((
Nice. I like how you keep the rhythm going, hit a few lines and drop right back to the rhythm. The animation is cool!
Good sunny day music right here, very nice!
Very ethereal. I hear sitar in there to. Nice!
No sitar. Chase Bliss Reverse Mode C. I love it's sensitivity, I can get it to just about disappear and then when I dig in I'll the effect will grow and it's like throwing another layer onto it. Putting the Earthquaker in front of it with really low (or even no) gain gives another layer to that dig in sound and it sounds like I'm adding something without doing anything except play with the dynamics. This one: ua-cam.com/video/mzWUGNt43Gk/v-deo.html Here I am actually turning the pedal on and off though. It turns on for the first time around 0:58 and gives a wonderful metallic overlay.
☕☕☕ nice!
Mmm.. delicious relaxing goodness. It sounds great HIMS. I'd like to hear it when you get the other tracks to. ☕☕☕🥓🥓
Thanks. Just some brilliantly fun toys to play with. Filter really seems like something I was missing for some things.
Hypnotic
Thanks. You don't want to know this, but Bitquest -> SL-2. Use the Hi/Lo Pass Filter algorithm and messing with the resonance will get it to self oscillate at which point you can use both the Attack/Duty controls on the SL-2 and the Lo and Hi pass filter controls on the Bitquest to shape the sequence coming out. Keep the mixes lower, turn the volume up on the pedals and then play against it.
@HomeInMyShoes Of course I wanted to know that!
Noice!
I'm diggin tha beets. I like the guitar too.🐄👶☕

Very trippy / spacy..
Very atmospheric. It chilled me right out.
Emotional ❤
By the way, the last two are sublime.
The Treminator has become my favourite tremolo pedal. The secondary functions aren't as intuitive (read that as I should read the manual and spend ten minutes sorting it out), but it has the range of sounds I want on the primary functions well laid out.
Get you with all your big words and all. Classic HomeInMyShoes guitar work, buddy, loved it.
This video saved my bacon. 😊
This video saved my marriage
This made me laugh. A lot. Thanks for that.
Yeah man! This is lovely. Guitar part is fantastic as always, that beat is great too though
Very melodic.
Miss you in the shop. Have you been evicted, or just busy? It's nice to see you around here at least.
@HomeInMyShoes Just busy. I really should get back in!! You're tunes are keeping me connected to the good stuff though!
Love that bridge. Reminds me of 50,000 Miles Beneath My Brain by Ten Years After (one of my alltime favourite songs)
Yes please. Very original. I liked it! 😊
Is this real?
The lunch was very real. And very delicious. The music is real. Played live,. Captured on cell phone recording. No other processing.
I find this content highly relatable.

Just discovered your channel. Your music has a great vibe, but you post you're going to stop posting? Don't worry about others, if you like making music keep posting it! - liked 🙂
Thanks. More just slowing down from the pace rather than stopping.
@@HomeInMyShoes ok, that doesn't sound so drastic! You're a guitar player. is that right?
@@NepenthesSloth Technically, more a piano player than guitar. ua-cam.com/video/LoC0YubkvgM/v-deo.html . But I like the way both instruments change the way I approach the other and guitar is a little more immediate for me.
There are lots of cool moments in here
Pickles n chips are nice and so is this👍
Sounds awesome with low attack
Mesmerising. Both playing and video.
Thanks. Hope things are well on your side of the pond.
Wonderful. Perfectly you.
Aww that is very kind. It does encapsulate a lot of things I love despite being so simple. That slightly metallic rise in the sound and I like the swirly reverb the Adineko has when you back it off from the self-oscillation point just a bit.
@HomeInMyShoes That Adineko sounds so good, one for my list which as you know is long! I know what you mean about the almost self oscillating sound. I can get that from my Memory Boy; almost an organ or synth like quality.
YAY! Very nice, I like that 90s/early 2ks 'arp'-stuff! Arpegiators were really a revolution then. Ofc these days igt sounds quite "oldie" to my ears... Whoa it even copies kidz-talk into your signal!🤣
Thanks. I grew up playing keyboards and have a definite love for arpeggiators and drum machines. Yeah, that Miami Vice era was definitely in the back of my brain when this came out.
Overall that sounded rather good. I particularly liked the flanger on the last one. Modulation effects are an acquired taste, though and so often less is more unless it's just in the odd place. Great experiment though. Always very impressed with that you come up with.
Thanks. I think I will use the Mod Square with my usual pedals to see if I want more modulation in my life or not. And I will probably revisit these three pedals again after giving my brain some time to sit with it.
I like it, the visuals go really well with the reverb too, good stuff
Thanks. RE-20 into the GFI Spatium algorithm is a wonderfully swirly background to listen to the fade on. I can see why you like the Procession so much.
great stuff!!! what settings are you using here?
It was so long ago that it is something I should spend some time receating. Because this is just a single take (no loops, no overdubs) my tips are to keep the level mid to low so that you get a lot of original guitar signal and the pedal acts more like a background beat box. It's in the SFX/Harmonics section and probably 7 or 8 on the variation (that is subject to be entirely wrong.) Attack is probably around 10ish and Duty is probably around 2ish. Those are my favourite controls because it really gives a wide range of options for almost every pattern you select.
Very danceable. Great track. 👍
Wow! The trippy parts made me high! 😊
