Monster (Seulgi & Irene) MV Analysis: Is it queerbaiting?
Переглядів 2 тис.4 роки тому
This music video certainly left an impact! In this video, I review/analyze/cry about Seulgi and Irene (of Red Velvet)'s new music video "Monster." Yes, I talk about Ingmar Bergman's Persona and JS Le Fanu's Carmilla. Also regarding whether it is queerbaiting. Moonlit Winter (2019) is a film with warmth despite its setting. It's very good! I recommend it!!

Jeremy Jordan v Supercorp: What's the problem?
Переглядів 16 тис.7 років тому
No hate, just wanted to make a breakdown of the events. And any excuse to praise Katie McGrath 😘 the interview: ua-cam.com/video/LQLU58Adtd4/v-deo.html music: ua-cam.com/video/ziUSQKcURBE/v-deo.html mark hamill speaking: ua-cam.com/video/_5Iv_sazoGg/v-deo.html
I agree 100%
So glad I found this because of the rabbit hole that series such as Transit Girls & She Makes My Heart Flutter sent me down; going to watch Moonlit Winter again over the next few days, and just wanted to complement you on such a perfect review. I choose to find hope for a future relationship between the long lost couple but, even without one, their renewed friendship gives me hope too. Have even got a couple of friends falling in love with this movie now as well, which makes me feel warm inside too, kerk
Watching it today
Bisexual and Supercorp shipper over here: Jeremy isn’t homophobic. He literally has stood up for his gay cousin and has performed for and supported the Trevor Project. He was obviously making a joke. It’s not like he was saying you can’t ship them. I have major respect for Jeremy and everyone just needs to take a chill pill. People really are just trying to find any reason to cancel someone.
I love the movie It doesn’t rush The slow pace draws you along a warm emotional ride
I love this video! Post more please!
I would like to watch it for free. Any link available?
It's available on YT now. I watched it again just last weekend, kerk
I just finished watching the film minutes ago and at the end I exhaled heavily.
Oh please.
Get woke, the woke attacks you. Shippers need to learn how to take a fucking joke.
Is there any love story between two woman or I get it wrong?
they dated when they were young but it didn't last due to the stigma
I believe there's hope that, now they've reconnected, they may build a new relationship that could lead to them being together again. That may just be my need for a light in the darkness, but I feel that hope all the same and something like two years after I first watched Moonlit Winter it's stronger than ever; particularly as the daughter and the aunt would both be supportive of them, kerk
this is such an important video. thank you for this, i can't believe you're so underrated. subbed and will recommend!!
I think Jordan was booted from the show at the end of S3 (as a regular, Brainy/Jesse Rath essentially taking his place) because of his clusterf*ck of an outburst.
No, he wanted to go back to broadway and do other projects
Can anyone say..on what platform can I watch this. Thanks
Sflix.to
a bit late to this but it’s on tubi for free now!
It's up on YT at the moment, kerk
I recommend watching How to Buy a Friend, it’s a korean web drama with a good storyline and an amazing caste (Sohye is one of the lead actors). Neither too fast, nor too slow.
Is it wlw?
what did Chris Wood mean when he said: 1:50 ? I'm dumb and confused plz help lol
lol same, not quite sure what he meant
The calmness of this movie is feels like a breath of fresh air. It's slow, quiet and peaceful. Hee-ae Kim is incredible, her eyes mesmorized me. I hope to get one of my friends to like it too
)
To create a piece of art like this in the calm mood is most difficult than all the other genres of film( action fantasy ...) it need more talents a take a lot of energy
I just watched the movie and I'm in love with it , idk what it is exactly but i feel peace
Thank you for this. I initially assumed it was queerbaiting but, I liked how you brought to light other possibilities! Great analysis ❤❤
One of my favorite movies... Such a warm aura, unrushed beauty. I'm glad that there are more people that appreciate this calm masterpiece
Basically Katie McGrath and Mark Hamil are dope people and never insult a ship...it will only bring hate and anger because some fans can be terrifying
I'm rewatching this situation in november 2019 and I will use your video to show a friend on twitter what happened. I'm so glad the way you explained the situation. I loved your video and I do think that we can use it to educate people about some "jokes" people like to do. Kisses. SMACK!!!
This is ridiculous. Jeremy was just joking around and so was the other cast. People are acting way too sensitive and taking things way too serious. IT IS NOT THAT SERIOUS 🤦🏾♂️
I agree...
Anyone reacting disrespectfully in retaliation to the cast, yes, was overreacting and set a bad precedent for the entire thing. The interview itself was not technically homophobic, however, it came off as insensitive and unprofessional. The rest of the cast barely took Katie's save seriously nor acknowledged it, and I believe anyone being civil has the right to an opinion, especially if they are lgbtq and experience the heteronormative undertones constantly relevant in today's society.
@@kylie3112 insensitive and unprofessional? Once again IT IS NOT THAT SERIOUS. I'm sure if the cast thought this would've been an issue they wouldn't have joked around but off course people gotta cry and take things way too serious as if the cast intentionally tried to hurt people's feelings. They're just having a bit of a laugh and fun. I swear people now of days can not take a joke. Things are not that serious...
THANK YOU
Katie is actually a god ngl
Winnara <3
Katie is my favorite and all r idiots.........
Katie Mcgrath. That's it.
You pronounced Katie’s last name wrong it’s McGrath but it sounds like McGraw because the TH is silent
Katie is an idol. We most love and protect her.
way too sensitive
I love your accent
You know korrasami is canon right
I think if Chyler would have been there, the conversation would have been more matured and the topic sexuality would have not been made a joke.
Absolutely I agree. Especially now that she's publically come out as queer and was to an extent aware of her sexuality then (Alex's coming out story had a lot to do with that). It was heartbreaking that she had a family emergency and a crime that she wasn't there to help Katie save the unprofessionalism.
Oh poor you, someone told you the ship you wanted to happen so badly, isnt going to happen so quick to screen homophobic.😑😑get over yourselves jeez. It just re-enforces the stereotype that all gay people are winey brats like stop it. Plus Chris woods comment was sarcasm, he even said it right after.
Possibly why i never got into SG until morgana came in randomly check netflix for chyler appearances(even she's not an outed les just yet) coz as a real person in interviews she was sensitive on their fanbase and loved her since grey's anatomy. Well guessing having Katie in that insensitive cast is the only good thing on that interview.
2idiots
Thanks for bringing up this topic in much fairness.. I think the cast of Supergirl does need to be more sensitive towards their fans and not just diss the imagination of their fans. Katie McGrath made such a sensible comment!
Jeremy Jordan was just saying that they were just freaking friends. I understand the whole hype and everything was handled wrong but Apple Juice. But the whole thing that assuming everyone is straight is like no. No no no no no. Opinions and no.
Katie ❤️
Katie Mcgrath is a very good actress to be in that show, she deserve much more and be with truely actors, not that little boys inmatures
She was amazing in Merlin! I've never seen Supergirl, but I know Katie from Merlin. She's my favourite actress ^^
@@pandoratonks4429 I've never seen merlin. But i do love katie, should I watch it? Is it good?
@@jordanbelfort4103 I actually started watching Supergirl shortly after posting that and I'm now a huge fan, lol. I was disappointed to hear that Season 6 will be the last Supergirl season. And yes, I HIGHLY recommend Merlin. It has always been one of my favourite shows. Don't watch season 5, though, as it's really sad xD. Particularly the Diamond Day (I think it's called?) episodes.
i love how the show runners literally removed those guys (no hate) and made a new main cast, adding Nicole Maines, Jesse Rath, Azie Tesfai and Staz Niar. The interviews since season 5 would have been really good and authentic. but the pandemic said no
I love that jeremy went in for a high five and katie (supercorp warrior) left him hanging.
it is sad !😒😭😢
do you think supercoro has any chance?
This is what I cannot stand about millennials. Everything on TV should be about relationships nowadays, according to them, and even though they are usually the first one to support individualism and going your own way, they're also the first ones to want to control someone's life and not seeing the difference between fact and fiction. If you watch a show for the relationships, cool. I think you're missing the point, but hey, not going to tell you how to enjoy your art. However, don't mistake your perception of art for the original intention of it. If an actor has to apologise for something he believes in and laugh it off as a joke despite no one in a realistic environment would get offended by it, you know you're dealing with an incredibly obsessive fanbase who lack the knowledge of the media to enjoy fiction for what it intends to be. The "death of the author" theory that both Katie and Mark talk about in this video (the "see whatever you want to see in it" thing) only goes so far, and it's not an excuse to go all holier-than-thou on your perception in comparison with someone else's, including the actors.
Katie McGrath. That's my girl.
Well I'd like to ask what's the problem with the Supercorp fans. I love their friendship but Jeremy was probably just tired of people gating on the cast and crew for shipping a couple hardcore that isn't there. Tho like Katie said you can see what you want and read what you want into it. But also see if it's not canon, then you can't expect it to be either. I have a few crackships on all my shows, friends where I love both characters. Gay or not, it doesn't matter to me. I want my favorite characters to be happy. With who they chose. What makes most sense, what they need. I ship Sanvers. And Karamel
I think the issue is with ships, even if you know they are never going to happen, it's best if you have that 0.01%. I also think it was the dancing and sarcastic lines that came across as "mocking" that fandom. I can see why they'd get mad. I think I'd even get mad if it was a straight couple I was hard shipping.
I think this was just a classic case of something you think in private, coming out publicly. Yeah...I agree that it was insensitive and pretty thoughtless to let something you would probably say in private come up in front of a lot of yours fans. I really believe they meant no harm by any of their comments, so really it is an issue of..lake of grace and empathy. This video really challenges me to have more integrity myself and think more deeply about the things I would normally make fun of and handle them with the grace and depth of Katie McGrath.
I agree 1000%. It was just kind of a middle of the road *technically* not offensive but something you would never say or laugh about in public. They didn't deserve the lack of respect in responses, but it was unprofessional as hell and Katie did as best she could to save their asses. If only Chyler were there too.
art is subjective, no one opinion is right or wrong.
