PORTABLE GARAGE COVER FAILED!
It has only been a year and a half and the "garage in a box" has failed. The cover had some small tears in it when we had a big storm come through. Now the cover is ripped wide open and we need to get it fixed!

Thank you 😊 video is very helpful I really appreciate that 🙋🏻♂️
Glad it was helpful!
You have a problem if your handle is heating up. Use mine all the time, with prolong use and never had that!
Interesting Thanks for letting me know!
Good evening Justin, too bad about the shelter. A year and a half..it should have held up. Must have been quite a storm. That seems to be a good temporary fix. Hope you are having a great Father's day. 👋😎👍,Ben
Thanks Ben! I hope your day was great as well!
Justin, the shelter logic is a good system but the tarp covers they provide are junk. Same thing happened to me. I purchased a new tarp cover from them and a 22 mil tarp to go over that. UV is what starts the damage process. My new tarp cover is UV resistant. I did cut the new tarp to fit and put new grommets in as well. We will see how it goes. Good luck with yours
Thank you. I agree the system is great but cover not so much.
Thanks!!👍👍
moth balls in a old sock works great ! Always keep one under the hood in my 2014 spark.
I thought about moth balls but I was worried about the strong smell. Thanks for commenting!
I have the same one. But mines been converted to 12v. Not getting any spark and points are clean. Any suggestions? I have the original owners manual for it if you dont have one and need to know something specific. Or any specs.
I am not a mechanic or very familiar with this tractor. This is the first one that I am working on. I guess if I were trying to fix it I would start by making sure the ignition coil has power to it. Thank you for the offer on the manual. I appreciate that. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Very Case tractor Justin, looking forward to seeing it up and running 👋😎👍🍻
Thank you. I am too if I can find time to work on it
Nice job Justin! 👋😎👍
Thank you!
One very important thing to remember is that never turn your steering wheel while driving fast, and / or stop suddenly while the steering wheel is not straight. Especially in a soft non-level terrain.
Good tip.
Horse shit. It’s not 660 to swap that tank out. Key words being swap. It’s 660 to buy a cylinder when u don’t have 1 but a swap is just of the contents. Man don’t lie to these ppl
It was $660 to swap from flux core to gas. I said at the end of the clip that the next time I need gas it would only be $80. No lies there.
Good job, Justin! That is really cool. I'm sure it feels good to complete that and see it in action.
Thanks Lucas! It feels so good. Cant wait to get some time freed up to use it.
Beautiful weld keep it up bub!
Thank you!
@@JustCaidsDayFarm Your welcome sir!
Congratulations 🎉! So much work! But wow does it ever work well! Awesome job!
Thanks Ross! It was a lot of work but I am really happy with how it turned out. I can’t wait to put it to work!
You are going to love your grapple once you start using it. Mine didn’t come off of the tractor for nearly a year. And it’s been on and off several times since then. Going back on in about a week for a clean up project I have coming up.
I can't wait to start using it. I have so much work to do with it. but like always I have other stuff I need to get done first.
Good morning Justin
Hi Gary
Good morning Justin, nice to see the finished product and that it is preforming well. Our grapple lid flexes a little bit at times as well. It has never been an issue. Have a great weekend, hello to Dayna and Caidance, Ben 👋😎👍🍻
Hi Ben. That little bit of flex doesn't bother me as long as it goes back. I can't wait ti start using it! Take care
I 1st learned how to weld using shielding gas. Now i've been using a flux core welder. Does good for light repairs
That must have been quite the storm. A bit of work ahead of you. Have a good one!
We have had a few bad storms roll through this spring. Have a great weekend
Good morning Justin, the start up sounds pricey but looks like you are going to be quite happy 👋😎👍🍻
Hi Ben
I 1000% prefer welding with gas. Maybe it’s because I don’t know how to really weld lol, but for me it’s a much much cleaner job when I get done.
I agree the welds look so much nicer with the gas.
Gas = more better.
Good morning Justin, nice job, it is always good to be learning new things👋😎👍🍻.
Hi Ben. I have been getting much nicer welds. Wish I made the switch sooner.
Nice job it just takes a lot of practice. I've been welding for 25 years. I've done more stick and mig than anything I love doing TIG haven't done a lot of it but I do have a TIG welder and I do like the occasionally use it but keep up the good work it just takes time and practice. It is an art and you're doing a great job
Thank you! Tig looks like a really cool process. I would love to try it some time. I’m sure it will be a train wreck but you have to start somewhere. Thanks for commenting!
I do have a little advice for if you ever want to try it. Try pushing the weld instead of pulling it. You'll get a deeper penetration. And anytime you do a vertical weld with mig you do vertical down. And if you didn't know it already m i g stands for metal inert gas
Thanks for the tips!
Uug. Tough getting that pin out, my suggestion is to wrap some 2" strips of sand paper around the end of a rod that's almost the inside diameter of the tube and hone it out with a drill. I can tell you don't want to be hammering those pins out each time. Good progress on the gussets.
Thanks Ross. I did try to use sand paper. It didn't work well. I tried a few different things and finally got the pins sliding easily again. That video will be out next Saturday. Enjoy your weekend!
I know what’s wrong wit it. It ain’t got no gas in it.
lol
You have the wrong battery in it.
Most likely. I just got what was comparable to what I took out.
Wish my snow blower started like that
👍🏾
Nice
Thanks!
I never understood, why does the thing on top spin
A few reasons one it Ahmad a magnet ok it so when it goes past the coil it creates electricity which causes the spark plug to spark and then it has fins on it so when the engine has all the pieces on it cools the engine down
Like it was said below the fly wheel is used for ignition on small engines and used for cooling since these engines are air cooled. I could be wrong and am no expert but I believe the fly wheel also maintains momentum and keeps the engine spinning at a consistent speed in-between the cylinders firing.
@@JustCaidsDayFarm I forgot these have the shaft doing down so it's just a go kart engine sideways lol yeah mine has a flywheel but sideways and isn't exposed
You move the blade guide closer to work to keep the blade from twisting once you adjust it to cut straight.... depending on the type of cut...thinner vs thicker..you can get a cut that will not be perfect and a small degree becomes a bigger degree of bad cut quickly on longer cuts....these saws are what they are...a cheap knock off of a good design..and setup is depending on owner to fine tune it after purchase...i have a couple off shore models and they needed slight tweaking to get better cuts...even good name brands suffer from poor assembly and need to be checked when you start using them and later too as you wear them in.... i would slide that closer on cuts like you showed on here...that can tune it better..also adjust the bearings. too...or inspect them if no adjustment there..they could be out too or sloppy ?...or poor quality???many tiny imperfections make major differences to results....these are never accurate cutting machines anyways..close to square is all you can expect.... a slower downfeed also improves blade drift....you can add a downfeed control to it easily...just restrict the fluid through a simple homemade addon...look at samples online from bandsaws or search for builds to get ideas....gravity isn't your friend in cutting metal...why better machines include a downfeed control...
Thank you for all the tips. I have adjusted a few times since this video. It cuts just fine for what I do. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@JustCaidsDayFarm 👍
Normally on any Bandsaw...you adjust tracking on the top wheel only....it changes both wheels...check how loose the fit of bottom wheel is on the axle area..it should not move and be solid..up or down etc...
Good evening Justin
Hi Ben
Don’t know how I used to operate with out my front end loader!
It’s a life saver for sure!
You are getting there! I just got my 1953 DC Case running and had a similar no start issue and it ended up being that I had no spark. Here is what I would do next: 1.) Confirm that you have spark from the magneto 2.) Confirm the firing order/ignition timing These updraft carbs will spit/dribble fuel out when choking to start, since its trying to pull the fuel air mixture upwards through the intake, if you stop cranking or if its is cranking slow what is left in the intake tube will fall back down in-between intake pulses and run out the drain hole in the bottom of the carb, so that is also normal. If you need help with the magneto I can give you a crash course basics on setting the points gap and timing it, just shoot me an email, it should be on my channel page. I can't remember from your other videos if it has the Case mag on it or not, but they are all pretty similar. You need to time the rotor button internally and then time the mag to #1 cyl on the tractor. They can seem mysterious and confusing because of the impulse wind up but they really are not. Someone mentioned that it needs to turn over faster, the speed that is turning over is pretty typical for the 6V system, dad has 3 of these and they can be hand cranked with ease, so I think you are fine there.
Thanks for the tips! I did verify that I had spark but I think it is weak. I think when I finally get back to working on it, I was going to check timing and dig into the magneto a little more. I believe it is the case magneto as it has the case emblem on it. I will reach out to about the magneto as I couldn't find a ton of info on it. Unfortunately it will be a few months before I have time and money to work on it. Had some other major repairs and projects pop up so the fun projects have to wait.
@@JustCaidsDayFarm could be as simple as running a file through the points. Just let me know when you’re ready. I may just make a video on how to time one and upload it so others can see as well.
@@YesteryearGarage I think that is a great idea.
Ouch Justin!!!
Yeah that was deflating. But I have it all fixed back up, built stronger and retested yesterday. You learn form you failures.
Hey, good vid...Just a couple words of advice...whenever you replace or regap a coil, you want to turn that flywheel by hand to make damn sure there is no interference between the two...because if there is, the moment you crank that starter you're in for a hell of a surprise. Also, not a huge deal but it looked as though your new plug wire got pinched between the airbox and the fan shroud. Like I said, not a huge deal in the short term but over time it could rub through at the pinch point...then you'd be right back where you started....or didnt start Good luck with your channel.
Thank you! I didn't notice the wire getting pinched. I will have to check on that. Thanks for pointing it out.
Good afternoon Justin, time to go to war with the mice. Great to see you got it running. Have a great weekend, Ben 👋😎👍🍻
Hi Ben. It is a constant problem around here. You would think with all the hawks, owls, and foxes around here it wouldn’t be an issue but here we are. Have a great weekend as well.
You need a better security system !! you don't have a barn cat ?
We need to figure out some good deterrents. I would love the idea of a barn cat but I am allergic to cats and the amount of time I spend in the barn it would not be pleasant.
👏👏👏👏 Alright Justin!!! She lives!!!
I stuff a plastic sandwich bag in the dipstick hole to keep contaminants out. Don’t know if it’s right or wrong, but that’s how I roll!
I thought about that while I was editing. Next time lol
Good morning Justin. You getting all of this rain too? We haven’t turned a wheel in field work here yet!
Hi Gary Yea. We got pounded on wendsday. Farms seem to be planted already. They were in the fields early this year. I have seen fields with corn popping up already.
They love engines eh?
Yes they do! So frustrating!
I don't know why they like to get in there I found them several times too damn rats
It is truly a pain
That's a pain in the butt. Hopefully no damage.
There was but nothing major.
Good morning Justin
Hi Ben
That’s a light duty grapple
Yes I am working on making it stronger
She is the best helper!!❤
Yep!
I think I would of put some anti-seize on the stud and bolts using a castle nut, it would make future disassembly easier. I have a King Kutter mower like this, only it's 5 foot wide.
Thanks for the tip!
Won't move running but doesn't move
Unfortunately I am not a mechanic and not overly familiar with these machines. I am just a guy who likes to tinker and fix my own stuff when it breaks.
I appreciate this video son much. 99% sure that’s what’s wrong with the one at work. Disassembling the old clutch was great frosting on the cake 🎂 Thank you
Thank you!
That battery charger is a POS I returned it after a week of trying to charge batteries. Dont waste your time or money
It has been working good for me. I fact I just used it today
@@JustCaidsDayFarm On a battery that it was not even dead it wouldnt complete charging for days the fan would make turning on and off sounds forever. It was probably a bad unit but still would not buy another one. I've heard you don't buy electrical stuff from harbor freight and that battery charger confirmed it.
