There aren't any tubes. You might be looking at the IF transformers, if you're referring to the boxes coming out of the side of the radio

Very nice reel to reels! I have a Sony TC-900 & a Panasonic RA-102S. Portables are fun! Gotta love the DC bias sound of the Fujiya, classic! I think the Wollensak's pinch roller screw might be reverse-threaded. At least I remember the RCA machine I have (with same transport mechanism, but capstan sleeve) having a reverse-threaded capstan screw.

That wood and cabinet look totally rebuilt with the old parts just slotted in. It's too flawless (no scratches) and I've never seen any radio from that period with that plain of a front grill on it.
I suspect you're right. I need to dig around and find out
I also thought the two knobs on the front being wood was weird, but I don't know enough about radios from that time to know for sure
@@widebruh Have you got a wiring diagram? There is a database of those online that is free for most models. You could also look up old photos by the model number. Yours sounds amazingly good for its age and chassis. I wonder if some of the tubes were replaced, too? You might be able to get the knobs as reproduction parts.
@@davidb2206the only number I found on it was Brunswick Chassis M-29. I wasn't able to find the numbers or diagrams for the radio itself

Based on patent numbers, it probably came out sometime in the early 40's? The latest patent numbers I found were from 1939. My buddy Aria looked at it and guessed late 30's.
