Early stages of something… Drums and samples recorded into the S20 to resample down, the bass sample did get run through the S950 for some more low end and then all sequenced and programmed in the MPC ONE Then the beat was recorded in to the S20 for added crunch…

madhandz i was watching you and loop home all night last night and i'm beginning to think i want an s20 now. do you know if there's a way to record the s20 into the mpc one's sequencer like grid view as midi triggers? also, do you know if there's a way to just make a full beat in the mpc one and then route the entire thing through the s20 back into the one (basically using the s20 as a sort of plugin for it's texture)?
LoopHome is a master of the S20!! I mainly use mine for the exact reason you stated. A lot of the time I’ll make a beat in my MPC and then record it into the S20 and play with the resample function to get more grit in the drums etc. I don’t know much about MIDI but there are MIDI in/out ports so it can be triggered to run with the MPC as I have done it once before
@@djmadhandz both of you are crazy. i was listening to your s20 beat tape and that alone almost has me convinced. last night i tried the sp1200 ring insert on the mpc one over both my drum and sample programs and it kicked the beat up a few levels in quality but i know there's no comparison to analog gear and the s20 looks like it might be the best option for me right now. for running the beat from the mpc into the s20 are you just putting a chunk of the beat in there and then taking it back to mpc after resampling and looping it to a full length track in there? i'm a little confused with how it works with the space being so limited. i've only ever used digital gear so the concepts are still taking their time to sink in for me
@@thomasfrom91 I think the S20 have had the memory upgraded so you can record into it for longer. I can fit a 2:30 track on there at a slightly reduced sampled rate and it certainly helps to add more knock to the drums. It does have a real nice sound when resampling down samples so even just using it for samples and then chopping everything in the MPC afterwards is a nice workflow. There’s a few really good videos on UA-cam showing how to work the sampler as it is basic but at first can be tricky to get your head around the workflow. And thanks for checking the beat tape!!!
@@djmadhandzi thought i already replied to this my bad i guess it didn't send. i saw a video of a guy using an mpc 3000 with the s20. he was using the mpc and had the s20 attached to it and was using it just to affect the sound. i left him a comment to ask how he did it hopefully he replies. do you have ig? maybe we can collab on something. i ended up winning a bid on an s20 hopefully it doesn't need work. thank you again for all the help it definitely tipped me towards the decision to purchase
