Wow thanks Dan that means a lot your def sick with it and I’ve seen you body it many occasions. Here my “hacks” in case they can be of any help: •You may notice there is no crowd in this joint. I do my best not to react to anything external. It’s a deep dive inward. Kill the noise! •My approach connects to the way jazz musician solos cause I never think of the words 😅. I have a large bank of flow rudiments like a drummer has licks. This is my rhythm hack 🥁 • I have been studying and playing scales and modes for a few years mainly on guitar and keys and this helps me internalize melodic and pitch based ideas. •I listen to really old classical and jazz and balance it with what ever is new drill, pop etc. (but mainly instrumental music as not to get influenced by others) •For the words I do read and write a lot but I chose not to write when is comes to music. I use voice notes, video, or a daw. I think this has improved my memory and I never separate the words, tone, cadence flow etc. This is my mind makes a type of “chord” that gives a depth I don’t see in most freestyling I’ve seen. My goal with a freestyle is to sound like a fully composed piece! •When I’m not making music i tap and play with odd time signatures in funky ways Ex: 7 = 1-2 / 1-2/ 1-2-3 or 1-2 / 1-2-3 / 1-2 or 1-2-3-4 / 1-2-3. •Lastly like you said i’m different 😂 but so is everyone! The main non technical thing which is the most important is trust ourselves enough not to compare or complete with others. This is what I got from teaching! Bet on self and you will win every time. Haha looking at this reply I will also give myself the credit for being a music nerd that shows love! 🛸

Thanks for the support fam. I learned about building community from hosting the Optimus Open mics, World Music Wednesdays with DJ Emmo and the diy hiphop scene from ppl like yourself. Getting into teaching artist work shifted my focus to learning how make deeper connections through purpose, intent and collaboration. Now through Creative Expressions (my company) and building a production team (Show Love Productions) I’m leering to give to my self the way I have given to others! My relationship with me myself and the mos EYE 👁 is the fundamental community to build my foundation from. I’ll tap into this beautiful question in the next one I record.
