What the hell happened to ubisoft forgot how to make good games they were dropping bombs in 2008-2014 all went downhill from there

I can't believe how far ubisoft has fallen in a decade, we can all agree ac2 was our childhood. Arguably laid a "open world" foundation that many games used afterwards. Ubisoft were really ahead of the times, now they're a shell of their former self..

The sheer unique joy that this game brought and the potential the series offered at the time was unmatched…then Ubisoft killed Desmond, abandoned nearly all of the intrigue they built up and sold their souls in a bid to churn out game after game, year after year. Sure there were some great games along the way, but none of them have ever truly captured the magic of Desmond and Ezio’s stories. They had something special and they threw it away and then they have the nerve to give us Mirage and say it’s going back to the roots of the series. It’s too late to recover now, but at least we have the memories of this golden age of AC…requiescat in pace 🙏

I remember when I played this game for the first time, no spoilers or anything, and when I saw this scene I was like "ouh, this kid is so dead", and the weight this scene carried on later in the game was so impacting... and when I saw the same beginning with Mario on Brotherhood I was like "dammit, Mario, don't do that or you're dead too!"

Personal opinion... 15 years into the franchise and still the best title intro of them all.
