I don’t know why people see this dude as an evil villain. Maybe I’m biased because he’s my favorite character but he didn’t mean to kill luke, and he showed remorse and regret for it. With the whole burning his brother thing, he was incompetent and weak and they have a far better chance at keeping the throne with aemond as king (he’s more intelligent and cunning, great with a sword, rides the biggest dragon, etc), plus he had that shit coming he was a bastard to him constantly. Certainly a flawed character and capable of horrendous things but ultimately he cares about his family and the realm as a whole and so I wouldn’t call him evil.

Corlys and Rhaenys are my favorite couple in all of the books and tv shows. They are truly partners in life. I'm sure Rhaenys knew fully well that they were her husband's bastards.
