Everyone, don't just buy this guys stuff. If in 60's take up road biking and join a club. Good for heart lungs and legs. Balance matters when biking, Give it a try, You might end up riding 6 or 7000 miles yearm=, doing century ride on weekends and 30 or 50 mils in between. Walking is for over 70 or75 at minimum

Scott, this was helpful. I have a comment / question. I was an avid cyclist in my youth (15-28) and still do some riding today (nearing 70). My son, now 24, practiced Tae Kwon Do as a teen (& then weightlifting), which involves a lot of kicking, esp. extending the hip up and out. I understand the part about an older person walking in stooped-over fashion. But both my son & I have that sort of side-to-side (slight) wobble which I believe is due to how our choice of sports impacts / impacted our gaits. Today, I do (a lot of) squats, pull ups, and hanging from a bar for 30-60 second intervals, among other exercises, including stretching hip, shoulder, arm, ankle mobility, etc. I may even work up to a split one of these days. Anyway, what comment do you have for younger athletes whose exercise forms result in a slight wobble which does not confirm to your gait-age analysis? Tks.

Lot of good stuff here - I'm 80 and was wondering if walking with the proper gait as you demonstrated will help improve my rounded shoulders and posterior pelvic tilt. None of the exercises I have tried seem to have much effect. Thanks.

It's kind of hard to do when I walk with a cane, and now I have a 4-wheeled shopping cart that I have my other hand on. (Falling isn't a good idea.) And I actually can't walk without the cane. Maybe some of us old people are just glad to be able to walk at all! (Although standing up straight instead of hunched over seems good.)

You have not experienced old age. Yet, you are stigmatizing elderly people. Most people don't a the lifestyle to fine tune every aspect of their physical life. Now we have twenty year olds telling eighty year olds like me how to live to one hundred. A person can't be president until 35 years old. Why? You don't become mature enough until then. You are not automatically capable even then. You don't like the looks of elderly people? Your kids won't like yours either when you get seventy.
