I think you are reading too much between the lines on Rory. He is playing a whole lot this year for various reasons and it has taken a toll. He realizes he needs to focus on some things outside of golf. The fact it seems he will play LIv and 4 majors and a couple other events is a coincidence. Don’t forget how much he loves that st Andrews pro am event. So he will likely play that next year. Tgl is a fun made for tv thing. No matter what happens with the golf Landscape they should be able to gather about 8 players for each event nite. When it finally starts let’s just enjoy it for what it is. A fun way to display golf using tech. I shocked you were not entertained by Scottie having to hold off 2-4 guys; really mostly 1 guy most of the week. Good talk guys.

Not as many as the playoff events though. The golf world is very different from when the “playoffs” were invented. But there’s still a needed place for it. IMO. LIv is 54 players where everyone plays every event together so they don’t need a postseason as much. They instead have an awesome finale with the team event. But I would not rule it out. But I will say the WSL WCT (surfing) has incorporated a postseason of Sorts even though they only have 34 guys; only problem is their postseason format and location are questionable. IMO Scottie gets the Comcast’s 8 mill and he will likely get the pga tour POy which is a HUGE historic honor voted by the players; Although worth noting is Xander still has a chance to earn the players votes for poy if he dominates the next 3 events. So if he can still lose the vote it’s not Like Scottie should have the fed ex cup wrapped Up. Xander Won 2 of 4 Majors! In this fractured era that is HUGE. Bryson was not at the Olympics or the players but he was at both majors Xander won. I’m a big believer a TRUE playoff is golden for golf. Imo the pga tour should be full field every event until the playoffs. And then the top guys should get a bye or two or whatever but intimately they need to play off for the fed ex cup at the Coca Cola tour championship. Everyone starting even Steven. Maybe just 25Guys instead of 30. The lpga tour has the cme where winner takes all. If you earn your way there you have a chance to upset the top seeds. That’s exciting and must see tv imo. The pga tour needs to do the same. The point is just because the giants upset the pats and their undefeated season is not a reason to eliminate the nfl Playoffs. It makes it more exciting they had an undefeated regular season but lost to a dog. Golf still needs that imo. Especially at the end of the year when attention is moving to the nfl.

No question it’s Xander today, and probably Scottie for the entire year…… I will say that Scottie’s non-major wins are not as impressive since much of the PGA TOUR field is diluted these days, particularly the non-signature events…. For the top four, I would add in Bryson and Rahm (I know the PGA bootlickers have criticized Rahm as having a bad year) but he’s finished inside the top 10 in every single LIV event

Just got home from Asian tour Rabat Morocco, leader board is stacked with LIV players, it was a really fun watch and all the players were super friendly, to the point they said to me after the 18th " are you coming back for the final round?" I said yes and they said see you tomorrow. Also has asked me if I was going to Valderrama next week which I am and they also said make sure you come up and say hello. Golf was fantastic with John Catlin playing brilliantly closely followed by Ben Campbell, talking to the guys including being signalled to walk inside the ropes, they are dreaming of getting on LIV. Final group tomorrow is John Catlin, Ben Campbell and Eugenio Chacarra.

I wish people would stop referencing world golf points as a factor …. the OWGR is a joke, and everybody knows it, including the golfers! CBS and NBC and the golf channel continue to pound the OWGR because they’re bootlickers for the PGA TOUR.

You have to judge it based on their performance in majors this year because both of them are playing against diluted fields in their respective tours…… So based on that Bryson is number one!

LIV all the way! Players have just as much talent and more charisma than the PGA (Dechambeau, Rahm, and Hatton are a blast to watch) and Koepka , Cam Smith, Neimann, etc. are world-class …..

It’s Scottie, there is no debate. Look at the numbers.

Scottie is hands down the better player and is having the better season. He plays on a tour w/ a lot tougher competition. Yeah Bryson shows up at majors this year but he doesn't win on a weak tour. It's kinda weird. Bryson is a great player no doubt. But Scottie is better right now. And Scottie is having the better season.

I’m a fan of Bryson, but, he is not even No1 on LiV. However, with one Major to go, he is ahead on points of Scottie.

Imo it’s very simple: unless someone finished 1-1 in the last 2 majors (which did not happen); the guy who finished 2-1 in the last 2 majors is the best in the game.

There is no debate Bryson has not won anything. Rory gave him a tournament. You cannot debate that. Bryson could not beat T. Hatton on a resort course a week after being handed a tournament.
