PAUT MOTOR - THE BEST CHOICE ENGINE FOR HYBRID.wmv
brankor60@gmail.com paut@pautmotor.com
Prototype 2 is performed as an engine with two-sided pistons, positioned at 90° to each other, in combination with PAUT two-stroke cycles (fig 1). Such construction provides an engine containing less assembling parts, having smaller mass to power and overall-dimensions to power ratios, which are the presumptions for a successful product to be accomplished and for low cost production/exploitation to be expected. Smaller mass, compared to the prior art engines, derives from the fact that PAUT engine contains considerably less assembling parts lacking elements such as: rods, camshafts, camshaft's driving parts, some valves, large heads.
The very construction of the two-sided piston (fig 3) has more advantages. Contact area between two-sided piston and cylinder is considerably larger compared to prior art pistons. Hence, specific pressures are lower and since the two-sided piston is lubricated under the pressure, the friction is considerably smaller, the more so as we know that normal force Fn in the engine center equals zero (fig 2a).
All these results with less wear of the piston and the cylinder. Such a two-sided piston has considerably smaller mass compared to the prior art assembly it replaces, consisting of two pistons with their prison-shafts and two belonging rods, resulting in lessening of linear motion inertial forces.
This construction has still more advantages as compared
to prior art engines such as:
- better controlled cooling of cylinders not being adjoined to each other
- smaller friction inside the engine due to less moving parts
- increasing the capacity of this engine, though considerably, results in overall dimensions to increase only slightly
- gravity center is posted lower (it is in the engine center)
- better forces configuration in the very engine, while negative forces and torques nullify each other completely (fig 2b)
- it is possible to dismount pistons and cylinders without entire dismounting of the engine
- no special tools nor machines were used to produce this engine
- there is less noise due to the design of the two-sided piston
- though the cycle is of two-strokes, the lubrication is performed as if it was four-strokes
The objections on this construction should be as follows:
- due to the compressed construction , the starter should be mounted on the gear box, but with some endeavour it is possible to mount it on the very engine
- the force on the output journal of the crankshaft (fig 2a) is twice compared to the one at prior art engines, but this problem becomes negligible with a proper design of the journal and of the operating shaft bearings
- there is no oil sump at this engine, hence an additional oil-pump is needed
- since it is a two-stroke cycle engine, the engine cylinders are submited to higher mechanical and thermical load comparing to four-strike cycle
Prototype 2 - characteristics (technical data):
• Two-stroke engine
• Engine-block measurments with heads mounted 500mm x 440mm x 440mm

Судя по всему это не ДВС, а трехступенчатый компрессор
Some elegance in the concept however you have strong sidewall forces and a lot of bearings and complexity. A rocker piston is far more elegant force wise as there are no sidewall forces at all.
Strangely designed, there's no any Center Point of this Rotating Shaft,..Hence no Main Bearing at all. Yet it still doing good (in simulation). I guess the bearing/vibration force will be taken by ..Cylinder Wall, as Main Bearing.(!?!) that the Pistons are extraordinary LONG than normal Pistons...then the Friction Loss will be quite High.. double acting make the Compact, power to weight Ratio also Very high.(?) Has prototype rolled-out.??
Double Acting, Double Stages compact 4 (paired) Pistons Engine...i guess 2nd stage piston must be bigger than this (41.4 % or more in diameter : area×2)
the only orientation for this engine is upright; beats mine its a first and Im very glad for it "Paut engine"
А как подается смазка на трущиеся поверхности?
Nice idea, but the combustion engine has had its day. Nobody ever asks if Conversion of 100% energy into 70% heat and 30% kinetic energy is spilling or common sense. We throw more then 2/3 of the fuel away stop this nonsense! Go electric!
check out the wobbler engine... it actually runs... Duke that is.
...again, as many others. This engine is so good that you won't see it any where or any aplication.
The guy who made it died before selling the patent.

I've heard of a cross bolt crank, but hell that's a cross bolt engine!
It's very interesting. But I think development of a new combtion engine is to late. Electric motors are taking over
Very good animation. Educational? Studentwork? What is the point. Higher efficiency? Give me a break. Want to see some kalkulation. So far a good practical joke.
Suggestion to all engine constructors. Do this first of all: “Power, torque and specific consumption have not been measured as yet.” Thereafter do not be disappointed when you find that almost all had already been invented about engines with pistons, cylinders... before 2011 :)
Donde se fabrican estos motores?
Did you make a working prototype?? I think it will be too complicated.
Very good animation for the Balandin engine cinematyc understanding
Fantastic animation. Rest in peace it’s designer. I can see vibration and wear possibilities, however I like the supercharging effect and as a concept would produce interesting results if it were ever built. I’ll watch this space.
I can improve this inventions better. My improving invention require much less machining accuracy; My improving invention is long stroke engine, instead of short one. So, the Paut engine need no Eccentric wheels, but common cranks. My improving invention has much less inertia vibrations. It will balance as well as traditional engines. Please communicate with me. Do you have a working prototype at all? this looks good, but until somebody shows one of these engines actually running . . . . .it is all pie in the sky.
Это двигатель Баландина.А он его в свою очередь цап царап с какого то патента . Более точнее тут forum.guns.ru/forummessage/42/258631-31.html
A lot of weight slapping that crankshaft around
Looks like an air compressor
Genius
нарисовано хорошо , работать не будет . да и не актуально уже ДВСы изобретать , они уже на закате дней своих.
show a working model these computer models only work on a screen
Sine law mechanism runs smoothly, but always makes junk engine design with low efficiency.
Amazing concept but I feel the crank or the eccentric shaft will have way too much load, and also balance of this engine could be a problem. There is so much mass moving all over the place so NVH levels would be pretty bad too.. I hope you can find a way to fix these, best wishes!
Cool, biggest downside, 2 main bearings
How many pistons do you want for this eng... Yes
it waste of fuel...
This is amazing 👏👏👏
If this engine comes into reality this engine sounds good with negligible vibration 👍👍👍
Entendí 4 q brutal y es pequeño
Cuanto pistones tiene 8 o menos
I didn't calculate it, but I think the side-thrust is greater than the traditional engine. The side-thrust passes through 2 bearings and reflects in another set of pistons. Advantages: this is compact and generates a perfectly sinusoidal movement, without second order vibrations.
Ingenious!
Seems not not to have an adequate exhaust stroke. It opens the ports at bottom center, but doesn't allow the gases to be expelled as the piston comes up, but instead forces in a fresh charge.
Seems to have pumping cylinder feeling the two-stroke firing cylinders.
ok why such compressor? why not turbine?
how much did you pay for music? or were led zeppelin so interested in new engine they said you can use it for free?
R.I.P Dražen Paut (1952.-2019)
Yuk
Yet another new engine idea that will never see production. There are a million experimental engine ideas that are presented to the public as the next big thing - and then you never hear another peep about them. Liquid piston comes to mind as a somewhat-recent example of this.
das ist 2takt Verbrennung, ich hab eine viel einfachere 4takt Verbrennung Lösung.
8 cylinder doing the work of 4, 4cyl pumping air and 4cyl firing. Why not just put a turbo on a 4 cyl? I am guessing that is a reed valve on the intake? It would have to have a counterbalance shaft or 2 to smooth it out, I don't know where you would put it. 4 air cooled and 4 liquid that would be something to deal with when under hood temps causes things to become heat soak. But neat idea and nice video. It should be narrated I would like to hear more about it. I wonder if aircraft is what it was intended for?
As usual, *the proof is in the prototype* and performance measurements. Where are they?
So is this an 8-cylinder 2stroke?
I'm certainly not an engineer by any stretch of the imagination, so I'm probably wrong in my assumption. But due to the fact that the pistons move in unison, without the counterbalance of other pistons moving the opposite way, wouldn't this create vibration (for lack of a better term)? I'd expect this thing to shake like a paint mixer at idle.
I have drawn and drawn plans for a 2-stroke which uses compressor pistons like this instead of the bottom of the piston like a conventional 2-stroke, this would allow 2-stroke power, yet conventional 4-stroke lubrication of the crankcase/piston so you dont have to burn so much oil. The problems I run into, no matter what you do, the piston sliding over the ports will burn oil like a mofo, and you run extremely lean until your fuel mixture is just right with the amount of air being pushed into the cylinders(essentially the same amount every single time regardless of throttle position) this would be much more well suited to being a 2-stroke diesel with DI fuel control. Nobody wants a gasoline engine that consumes oil, but with diesel, who knows the difference.
This is a dream...
