    Is there a difference between using the mixer or doing it with bare hands?

      If you are doing a big batch I recommend using a mixer for ease. But it doesn’t matter with a small batch because we are going for a flaky crust.

      Yes you can leave the sugar out or minimize it as well. Actually this is savory but we Filipinos like it with a tinge of sweetness 💕

      1 cup all purpose flour,2tbsp cornstarch then salt & pepper to taste

      use cake flour and to make it crispy add potato starch. Dont use all purpose flour coz it contain glutten. It will make your tempura soggy and thick. If you need to use egg, just use the egg yolk, mixed into the flour mixture before adding cold water. Dont over mix flour mixture

      Ready made tempura flour doesn’t need eggs. For homemade tempura flour for every cup all purpose cream just add 2tbsp of cornstarch & lightly season with white pepper & fine salt💕

    Finally!I was able to source out Glutinous Rice Flour & grated fresh mature Coconut (nyog).Today’s recipe is the Traditional Palitaw plus I added some upgraded versions of it💕It has been my personal goal to learn and relearn our Filipino Cuisine. And from a chef’s standpoint, Filipino recipes are labor intensive and though simple, requires so much ingredients. Truly, Filipino Cuisine is a labor of so much L💖VE.Enjoy!     For today I will be sharing with you a recipe from my mom💕I don’t really know what this is called.I just coined the term K-inETSUPan na Hipon from the ingredients.This is so easy to do & has very minimal common ingredients and yet no one will figure what it is💖 Please note that although you can use Tomato Catsup,it won’t be as good as our Filipino Banana Catsup💕 Ingredients: Half kilo shrimp Half cup banana catsup Onion & garlic 1 tbsp of butter Celery stalk (I used the leaves for milder flavor but definitely you can use the stalks)
