Fucking auctmart, gsxr 1000 fairings suck, the hardware that came with specifically the push pin fastners do not fit
Any idea where I can get the proper hardware? Rebuilding a bike that’s missing every fairing bolt and screws been a pain
Most of the fairings are held in place with 6mm plastic push pins. There are a few small bolts that hold on the front mask to the fairing stay and the side fairings to the frame. You can buy them from the OEM page on revzilla.com. The push pins can be found on amazon or ebay.
Cant help but notice you have a 1290 SuperDuke which do u like better 2 great looking bikes
Thank you!. For everyday street riding, I'd take the SuperDuke. For the twisties and/or track riding the Aprilia would be my first choice.
Great video bro! I just purchased a kit from Auctmart before I saw this video.
solid video
Much appreciated!
Great vid and thanks for all the helpful info man!
So what would you recommend Auctmart or monster fairings if you had to choose?
@@HotSizzleTV_ I’d go Monster. Overall quality is better.
6500 views that's awesome man!🎉
Great video thank you! Helped me choose for sure !
Excuse me if I’m wrong, but is that not a 750?
The old fairing kit the previously owner put on has 750 badges on it. Apparently, he didn't know the kit would have those badges. Its a 600 though.
ua-cam.com/users/shortsMZNulOgO0LY?si=ueasJkNKSqpzZmYZ DO NOT BUY MONSTER FAIRING
I payed 1300 for my kit from monster and they were super fast making my kid and responded to me every time I message them they actually reached out to me a few times to make sure I was satisfied with the way the process was going I've never heard of the brand that you got for everybody here I say go with monster fairings because at the end of the day you get what you pay for not only do they make great fairings they have great customer service
It won't accept my card, tried 3 different cards
What fender eliminator kit is that? Looks clean.
It’s from R&G. It comes with integrated turn signals. I love it!
I purchased some cheap Amazon owns for 250 for my 09 cbr 600 it was a PAIN to install the upper to the tank was a BITCH and as this the same to install? 😊
Thw whole install was tedious. There was a lot of fitup then remove for trimming or adjustment, then re-fitting. It took a while but everything fit well with the exception of the rear tail lights.
Time attack 😍🤟
Why it’s after I ordered mine I’m seeing this
If you went Auctmarts you'll probably be fine. They're just a little cheaper quality. I have been having some issues with their paint though. The green is showing some weird orange underneath, and all the black has permanent water spots now (the black was not clear coated).
Super helpful thanks for making this !
Just a look at your rear tyre and i can say that you dont need more power ...😊
At that time I had just gotten the initial service done at 600 miles. The chicken strips show I was being very "cautious" aka a wuss. Things are different now.
Need to get a kit for my 2008 ZX-10R due to some snapped tab pieces in the tail after 20+ years of owning it. This video helps a lot, good stuff.
Thank you! Good luck with your kit!
Time travel huh
@@PissMissile-RR meant to type 15 that’s mahhh bad.
@@Crimsanee all good, I was joking
Heat the plastic around the tail lights
Good idea. I'll give it a shot!!
Thanks for the video! ❤❤ I wish you had made this video before I bought from Auctmarts. I 100% agree with you. Auctmarts does have better-looking fairings and tons of options to choose from but, there were a lot of SMALL issues with the paint, fitment, and holes. Overall, the paint looked good. You mentioned that you got your fairings 3 weeks after purchase. It took me nearly 3 months. After a month and a half, I started messaging them, and they responded after every reply. Once I got the fairings, It took me a while to install them, and It made me very frustrated. I even had to make an extra hole for a screw in my tail fairing, which had me furious 😠. I did break a tab or 2 in the process😭. But for the end product, I was extremely satisfied and quickly forgot about all the issues because of how good the bike looked. If I knew, I probably would have spent an extra couple hundred and went with Monster fairings. I have a CBR1000RR.
The process of fitting everything up properly does take forever. I ended up doing everything over the course of 3 days. It took about 10 hours total. If I have to do it again, I bet I could cut that time in half. One month in, and the fairings are holding up well. My bike is driven to work everyday, and the winter weather and ran hasn't messed up the fairing as all. Thanks for watching!
I got my fairings in November 2023, and I ride mostly on clear and nice days. My fairings still looks new after a few months and I don't have a shelter to put it in, I just use 2 bike covers. Now the belly pan on mines has warped from the exhaust even though they sent me thermal heat shielding. I bought and added extra thermal tape. So for anybody wanting these fairings, keep in mind to buy and add ceramic fiber and extra thermal tape or just extra heat shielding like the video. Thanks Scott for the awesome video! It's very helpful and informative for people looking to get new fairings.
I've had had Auctmarts fairings on my 2013 GSXR 600 for over a year now. I have the exact fitment issues but it doesn't bother me much. Next set of fairings will be monster fairings.
I'm right there with you! Mine are holding up well so far!
Are they as strong as stock?
Awesome video. I appreciate it bro.
I have used Auctmart and Monster Fairings for two bikes (GSXR-750 and Ninja 650). I prefer the Monster Fairings. On the Auctmart fairings, the holes for tabs to be inserted were often closed (or smaller) due to the clear coat spray gumming the holes and hardening. I carefully used a dremel to get the holes back to the proper size. The Monster Fairings fit better. There wasn't a gap between the upper and lower side panel. The only complaint I would have with the Monster Fairings is that the tank cover is about 1/8-1/4in too small. Even in your video, you can see the valley in the faring between the tank cover and the black frame. Also, the black plastic between the seat and frame had to be "jerry rigged" because of the mis-fit tank. The pegs on the plastic piece would not reach the rubber grommets due to the tank cover. Had to cut the plastic peg and J&B weld and extension to make it work. The last thing (and maybe most important) is that they will custom paint/decal anything you want. I sent a picture of fairings that was not on their list and they created it for my bike! You just have to contact them first. How awesome is that. You see something you like on another bike, and the will replicate for your bike.
This was actually pretty helpful.
Much appreciated!
dang dude nice line up of bikes bro. I love the auctmart fairing
Thanks! The Aprilia is my favorite. I got the GXSR mostly for the track but I'm keeping it street legal because it's a lot of fun to ride.
Didn't you struggle with the bolts that hold the passenger pegs? On mine they were extremely tight, took me hours and I ended up having to snap one completely off because the head got worn out
It was difficult and did take a long time. I had to be very careful. They have that rough Zinc coating on them as well as thread locker which really makes removing them a pain. They sell little covers that go over where the pegs attached before. It makes for a really clean look in the back.
Such a shame to hear, as Auctmarts have a lot more choice of fairings compared to Monster (at least for my bike). I like maybe 1, but only at a push from Monster, whereas Auctmarts I could pick probably 8 that I'd buy 😀. Thanks for the video, dude.
No problem man! The Auctmart fairings are way better looking, but the Monster are better quality. Its such a tough choice. Good luck in your search!
I paid damn near 1k for monster fairings for a first gen busa and they had horrible fitment in the inside you can see all the over spray they chip easily waited 3 months to get them I have an eBay set for a cbr those are higher quality and better fitment for $300 no matter what you go with nothing compares to oem fairings in anyway I spent about 10 hours trying to get those fairings to line up
Fitting them up is a pain for sure. I've seen videos about Auctmarts and Monster on their own, but never where they were directly compared. Sorry your experience with Monster!
Great review, I have also purchased a set of Auctmart fairings for a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX 1000 and I had pretty good luck with them. The fitment was a little tight here and there but overall okay. I purchased another set from them a month ago for a 2007 Suzuki GSXR 600 hopefully this set will be a little bit better.
Thanks for the feedback. I like the way mine turned out, just wish they would start with higher quality plastics. We'll see how they hold up at the track this year. Good luck with your kit!
How’s that set turned out for your 07 600?
@Spartan_1982 It turned out okay. The fit and finish overall was pretty good, couple areas that were a little tight on the tolerances but overall a great kit for the money. I'll be purchasing another set for another for another 2007 Suzuki GSXR 600 I'm rebuilding.
@@edh4686 thanks so much for your feedback big bro
How did you find Sc exhaust? I had LV on my s-1000R it was fun but eventually make you tired of to high DB . I have 2022 Factory with Akro pipe and race map. Is map (plug you installed) better than Race map ? Thanks
The exahust is a little too loud for me, but it does sound awesome. The Gabro maps are supposedly a little better than the race map, but it sounds like you have your bike pretty dialed in with the Akra and race map.
pfff. i hate you lol. awesome bike man. maybe one day.
Which tank grip do you use ?
I believe they are the clear Eazi-Grip tank grips. With the clear you end up seeing any air bubbles that get trapped but you can still see the Aprilia logo on the tank, which is what I was going for. The grips work well though.
any 100-200 times?
Not yet. I just got a RaceBox Mini to track stuff like that. I'm mostly trying to get lap times at the track, but I can check 100-200 times as well. Unfortunately winter is here, so it will have to wait a few months.
Whats your pros and cons? Top upgrades?
Pros - Super fast, excellent handling, no issues with the bike so far. Cons - Parts availability, cost of bike/parts. Best Upgrades - SC Projects exhaust, Gabro ECU maps. Thanks for watching.
I did all of this to mine as well, I did have the notorious cooling problem though, the dealer still warrantied the bike and Piaggio replaced the ECU with all of the mods on it without a problem, also my UpMap still worked on the new ECU, I was sure it wouldn't but it did. It runs great now and no more overheating!
Mine gets hot but never over 225 F. I've heard everyone say that their Aprilia's run hot. Gabro maps have the electric fan turn on 5 degrees cooler so that is supposed to help.
Throw away the sprint filter that came with the kit. This filter allows dust into the airbox.
You roll with OEM or something like DNA or K&N?
I had the original air box with a paper filter. However, sand got there. This can be sealed with silicone. I decided to buy a gabbro air box to increase the power next year. After driving about 1000 km using gabbro air and a sprint filter, it turned out that this filter allowed dust to pass through. I had dust all over the filter housing. I bought a bottom filter, installed it a week ago and it seems to be ok. I had a K&N filter but on a KTM motorcycle and I think the bottom filter is better made. If you want photos, give me your e-mail address and I will send you.
Lol i scratched my swingarm 😅
Good driving 👍✌️
She's a beauty and sounds aggressive!!
No need for all these mods if you roll around corners like a granny. Also putting music over engine sound is the cherry on top
Thank you random internet person. Your opinion definitely matters to me.
Why not?? Better feel better sound it is worth it not everybody has to go to a track you clown Karen 😂😂 go back to your cave or whatever
Tuyệt vời 🎉
How is the rsv4 air filter and box working? I have Akra and Gabro tune.
Really well. Highly recommend it. I've done a few track days and couldn't be happier.
I am just trying to compare the new black Pankel radiator with the old unpainted KTM one...
Big question.... does your bike overheat when stuck in traffic....?
It does get very hot, but has not overheated. It's an Aprilia problem in general. From what I've heard, they are made to ride/race, not to commute or sit in traffic. That being said, an ECU map with better fueling and removal of the charcoal canister and servo motor can free up some space behind the radiator and allow for better airflow. It has kept my temps down to the low 200's (degrees F), but I usually turn the bike off if I'm in traffic.
@@scottoutdooradventures2779 That sums up my conclusion....the new radiator actually is an improvement.
I turn my 2023 factory (no mods) off in traffic as well! Not in traffic much but no problem to shut er down!@@scottoutdooradventures2779
Sounds beautiful!!!🔥👏 Did the upmap help the notchiness while riding in engine map 1? Also did the SC exhaust mount to your rearset from the video it didn't look supported or mounted? Thanks love the Tuono
The UpMap is amazing! On/off throttle is much smoother now and power delivery is more linear. The SC exhaust has a bracket that mounts to the rearset. I got lazy and didn't film every step.
I did the exact what you did but the exhaust. I have Akra for every day riding. I love the bike as it is now.🤟 Btw, the waranty is still 4 years....
I'm taking it to the track in two days. I'm so excited!
Aprilia gives 4 year warranty?
@@Sanisani9 2+2, yes...
@corneliuvaleanu5845 That's cool, I got a 1-year factory warranty because it's the R model. Other models get 2 years and then extended warranty 2 years, so I have in total 3 years.
Was it worth it ?
It was! Only thing I would do different is get a different exhaust. Love shorties but I wish I had gotten an exhaust with a baffle.
@@scottoutdooradventures2779 Is it too loud? Also goodbye to warranty with Upmap.
@@MotorcycleThrottle to be honest it is a little too loud. And as far as the warranty, it is what it is.
Met a guy with a shorty from another brand (?). Sounded awsome but was way too loud! I am thinking about an Arkra - By the way how much was the airbox (is this from Gabro as well, or does he sell them?) @@scottoutdooradventures2779
@@MotorcycleThrottle The UpMap or the exhaust does not effect the warranty.
