I think that I would have just bought a Contesa 26 to refurb.. A much better sea boat and less effort!.. Plywood boats are not really worth anything..

Am soooo glad I stumbled across your video. Wonderful documentation of a wonderful challenge! I agree with everything DanielKerryAnn wrote several months ago. We crazy people who take up such challenges may be bit daft . . . but it's such a fulfilling feeling. The ending of this life chapter was sooo reminiscent of the end of mine . . . tears and all. Nothing like it! Congrats to you!!

Great achievment! Only thing I don`t grasp is why use much time on top side finish on a race boat? Using a lot of time on hull perfection and functioning gear adjustment seems more logical. With the colors used you can`t really see the finish anyway....

All great, love story, but what did your neighbors say during build? If I imagine coming home after 10 hours work and commute and my neighbor starts the "chainsaw" , it might be an issue. You should reward them nicely.

Frankly, I’m at a loss for words. I’ve single handedly built several boats from scratch whilst holding down a full time job - including two catamarans. I did every part myself, from fibreglassing, to electrical and mechanical installation. The only help was loading onto a truck, the crane launch and the mast installation. Having also crossed several oceans single handed - I look at those as opportunities. My first build was a 32ft monohull which I entered into the Cape to Rio race. Just rather too much self doubt / negativity in this video for me.
