The Ledges Almost Flopped!
Переглядів 4 тис.3 роки тому
The Ledges is a relatively new, 8 rated trail. originally done as a UTV trail, it was introduced as a Jeep trail at Trail Hero, 2020. It has since become a popular trail and was featured at Winter 4x4 Jamboree 2021. Not for the faint of heart, this trail features many ledges, both up and especially down, along with several off camber sections. A good, knowledgeable spotter is highly recommended...
Risky Biz Driver Fail! Can't believe I did this!
Переглядів 4,2 тис.3 роки тому
Risky biz is serious business. This trail is every bit an 8. The entrance to the trail has two separate lines. One is very challenging for highly modified vehicles and confident drivers. Even if you bypass this, you're in for tough day as this trail throws off camber, climbs and sharp rocks at you. Bring a good spotter to help conquer this trail. As one of the newer trails in Sand Hollow, this ...
The Maze
Переглядів 12 тис.3 роки тому
The Maze is one of the most popular trails in the Sand Hollow OHV area. Rated an 8, it has some really serious obstacles. That includes the gatekeeper, dubbed The Drop. If you are comfortable with The Drop, you should be ok on the rest of the trail. There are a few bypasses but the majority of the trail will still need to be navigated. If you like to really challenge yourself, you will definite...
Milt's Mile Night Run

This was the first ever St. George Jeepers night run. We put out the invitation for everyone to come and we had a great turnout of 11 vehicles. That included the Stepchild from the LiteBrite UA-cam channel. We were stoked to have them with us. An extra bonus was having three lady drivers from the Wenches with Winches Jeep club. This run was a ton of fun with several surprises. Sand Hollow State...

Tuesday, December 1st 2020. The Jeepers took on Plan B, a 7 rated trail in Sand Hollow Utah.
Love seeing the morons who wore masks outside
More incessant talking.
What ever happened to Jake,I never see him anymore in the videos.
If you haven’t done it yet, you should reshoot this with better audio.
Good heavens you talk a lot.
It's almost like I'm making a video about a trail and don't want dead space. And yes, I do.
like at the amusement rides... keep hands anbd feet in the vehicle at all times... unless your Ricky Bobby and you dont know what to do with your hands...
Right!
You dont have anyone close to spot so your not shouting al the time?
Great trails. But I wonder, do you ever stop talking?
Never, not once, for any reason.
Nothing like having 2 or 3 spotters all talking at the same time.
It inevitably happens.
Hey Uncle Bill, why do you have a snorkel in the desert? 😂
We'll give you the benefit of the doubt and give you an explanation even though you're being a smartass. For clean air ingestion when driving down dusty roads. The higher the air intake, the cleaner the air. Bill probably goes on a lot of group rides and when you aren't in front, you get dusty air. It's also quite possible that Bill uses his rig in places that aren't the desert. And even in the desert, there's water. Maybe try not to be such a noob with your next comment.
Awesome video!!!,..maybe I’ll be on that trail in October 😎
Why is this now rated a 5 by the Winter 4x4 Jamboree? Still no lockers needed?
I honestly couldn't tell you. Maybe recent rain/water damage made it more difficult? A 5 requires a rear locker.
Great video of the trail! Some of those belly scrapes make me think twice trying in my longer wheel base tacoma. You think there's better lines for those obstacles? Front skids but no belly armor other than sliders
You'll be just fine. Go for it. Make sure to check back in and let us k ow how it went.
@@st.georgejeepers5517 Awesome cant wait, heading out next week! Thanks for the reply!
It's going to be super hot. Bring lot's of water and please take a friend in a second vehicle. Going early is your best bet.
@@st.georgejeepers5517 Yea its lookin like its gonna be TOASTY!! How much extra time do you think was added due to the large group in the video?
An hour
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. Is this the same trail as Red Canyon 2.5? I'm taking my family to St. George for the 1st time and we are looking for fun trails for our 4x4 Armada.
I've honestly never heard that trail name so I'm unfortunately no help with that one. Sorry. Your Armada should do well
While there isn’t a depiction of a native giving birth, there is a pictograph of a VG on the floor of the cave. ( a circle with a straight line down the middle). So I’m calling it Cave of Conception!
I'm convinced that most petroglyphs are just dirty pictures.
@@st.georgejeepers5517 There is actually a collection of pictographs near there, with all the "men" sporting over size equipment. I check out a lot of native art, not much else out there like it. Indeed, dirty pics!
That was fabulous. Too much for me and my rig. Beautiful place! Thanks
Thanks Kip. Plenty of other great trails in Sand Hollow. Come try some.
The guy spotting people dose such a great job, I guess his name is Jake. He definitely knows the trails and I would like him guiding.
Thanks Tim. Appreciate the support.
One of our favorite trails!
Definitely a great one. Once you do the drop, it's nearly non-stop fun.
Great vids! 🎉
Thanks Brett. Hopefully I'll get to make some more soon.
@@st.georgejeepers5517 I am a UTV owner, but I’d love to go with you if you would accept a UTV. ;)
I have a 2019 Polaris RZR Turbo S. I love to take it out. Hit me up
@@st.georgejeepers5517 you got an email you would share? Or best way to contact?
I can't share any contact info here. If you are on Instagram, find Adventure_earth_mtb
I love your video's! I'm going to be in sand hollow on the 27th of Feb. 2023 for the first time. I'm going to be alone but I can't wait, It looks Incredible. Thanks for all the info on what trails to run.
Thanks John! That's very kind of you. I hope you can link up with someone just to be safe. Have fun!
Who would you suggest I call if I need help or recovery?
Well, if you need a recovery and want to be on UA-cam, you could always call Matts Offroad Recovery. But, most locals in a pickle will just call Dixie Four Wheel Drive. They'll be able to get someone out to you pretty quick.
Thank you sir I appreciate all your help!
Great video !! Really looking forward to watching Matt’s heavy wrecker on this trail
Thanks Ryan! Me too!
Great video Jake!
Good footage, but I would like to hear less spotting from the camera person, it's kind of like talking to your elderly mother on the phone, she yelling, thing you cant here her but your having to hold the phone 6" from your ear.
Hard to do when the camera person is also the spotter and the person making the video. Many hats.
Love your videos!!! Thanks so much for posting them. Please continue doing them!! We need then, please!
Thanks Steven
Love the commentary
Ha, thanks
Amazing video to watch-an iconic trail that will inspire.
Just found your channel and great videos! We have a group coming to Hurricane this fall. Where is the best place to get a map of the trails?
Hi Stephanie, so glad you found us! If you search on Dixie four wheel drives website, you will find a link to some online maps for the trails.
You mentioned something about the temperature gauges on the Jeeps not working in 4 low. I don't think that has anything to do with it. One thing that I've noticed with mine is it seems to stop working when I'm driving real slow and the sending unit is getting heat from the engine or it gets wet. Then it just freezes at whatever it was reading last until it gets fresh dry air again.
I just know that it always works. Unless we're in 4 lo. Us and everyone we wheel with.
Great video! Absolutely love South UT! Seeing quite a few of the rigs on this, reminds me one of the best mods I've done is get my 40" on a carrier in the cargo area of my JK and not hanging off the back 2 feet. Puts the weight where its needed and keeps it from hanging off rocks.
Thanks. Smart mod
on Mike's Red jk 4 door. Who makes his rear upper luggage rack
I'm not sure. I'll have to ask
I guide through there all the time. The trail you took from peek-a-boo to the Great chamber is rarely used by full sized vehicles. Probably got some nice Utah pinstripes. That's awesome you all went through.
When are you all headed back out to sand hollow again? New to the area and just joined the group and based on the schedule it doesn’t look like there are any runs out there the rest of the year.
I'm sure they'll add a few runs in as the summer goes on. I don't have any specific plans to head out and as of right now, our Jeep needs some repairs. Welcome to the club though!

Great video!
Great video
Thanks Jake!
Thank you Jake! Great explanation. We really appreciate it.
Take your damn mask off. You’re no where near anyone else. You look like an idiot.
My family an I will be out there for the first time with our jeep in July this year any possibility of getting a guide for for sand hollow or anything?
When specifically?
@@st.georgejeepers5517 we are planning to arrive July 13th an be there til the 21st
I'm sure we can make something happen.
@@st.georgejeepers5517 awesome thank you. So much.
Haha. I think what you meant to say was it was dug out by all OHVs-Jeeps, buggies, and SXSs. Not just SXSs.
Videos just get better and better buddy! Can’t wait to get back home.
I can't wait for you to get back either!
Heading from Cedar City to do this trail in a couple weeks. Great video Jake, (Mountain biker Jake?) What would you recommend for tire pressure? This will be my first time in sand. I'm in a 2021 Bronco on 35s.
Yep, I'm probably "Mountain Biker Jake". You'll love Razzle Dazzle. I assume you aren't on beadlocks. I'd start at 18 PSI and possibly drop to 15. No lower or you risk de-beading the tire. Let us know how it goes.
@@st.georgejeepers5517 This is Rusty Slade I helped coach the Iron Giants a few years ago. I thought that was you. I'm just starting to get into off-roading.
I thought so. It's a fun and expensive slippery slope. I have good friends who have a 21 Bronco Badlands with a Sasquatch package. I'm impressed with what it can do.
@@st.georgejeepers5517 I got a Base model with Sasquatch.
Does that still have the sway bar disconnect?
Great video, by chance do you have a map of this trail?
I don't. Sorry.
Love how you capture the characteristics of each trails. Great work
Thanks!
Great video. However the first half of the trail is the Ledges. The second half is actually a whole different trail called the Turtles. Both the Ledges trails and the Turtles was trail blazed by the infamous James Payne aka Gabe who BTW is THE Sand Hollow sxs guru
You're right, but when we run it altogether in full size rigs, it's all The Ledges.
Any specs on that CJ?
Sorry, no.
