DOUBLE DONATIONS IS BACK!
More than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer will lose their lives within three months of diagnosis. Our community needs and deserves more.
Jessie's mum was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer too late to receive surgery or treatment to extend her life. Within ten weeks, she was gone.
Thanks to your determination, we are moving closer to the point where we can put a test in the hands of every GP to detect pancreatic cancer at an early stage. The research you’re supporting will also give more people the chance to have better treatment that will save lives.
Between now and the 2nd July, every powerful pound you donate will be DOUBLED.
Double your donation, double your impact. So, together, we can double the number of survivors and give more than hope to everyone affected by pancreatic cancer.

@PancreaticCancerUK Thank you. I will do. I'm currently undergoing palliative care at a hospice in London, however, as my abdominal and back pain is nearing controllable (after one month), the doctors are hoping to refer me to either a care home or supported accommodation. I'm very mobile, still have a good appetite. I was emergency repatriated by the British Embassy/Home Office after I got trapped in rural Cambodia. I will contact you either by phone or website soon. Much Appreciated.

Hi Marie, Thank you for your question. Pancreatic cancer can cause diarrhoea (runny poo) and constipation (when you find it harder to poo). If you have diarrhoea for more than 7 days and you don’t know why, contact your GP or call NHS 111. Your GP may do blood and poo tests. If you have lost weight and have diarrhoea or constipation, your GP should refer you for an urgent scan. Pancreatic cancer can also cause pale, oily poo. This is called steatorrhoea. Poo may be pale, oily, smell worse than normal, and be difficult to flush down the toilet. This is caused by fat in the poo. It happens if pancreatic cancer has affected your digestion, so that fat in your food isn’t digested properly. Hope this helps! - Ruth

Hi Michael, thank you for your comment. We know that access to PERT is incredibly important for people affected by pancreatic cancer, crucial to managing symptoms and maintaining a good quality of life. We also know that having trouble accessing PERT is incredibly stressful and worrying. We're working hard to ensure key stakeholders are treating PERT supply issues as a priority and taking urgent action to address the situation. We have met with the UK Government Department of Health and Social Care, as well as the main PERT supplier to discuss the supply issues and understand what plans are in place to address these. We will continue to raise this with whoever forms the next government. We are working with relevant stakeholders including specialist health professionals and other patient charities to develop guidance and information around PERT supply issues. We have information to support patients who are experiencing problems, on our website. You can also contact our specialist nurses on the Support Line for information and support if you are running low on PERT. We can help with managing symptoms linked to a lack of enzymes. Please be aware though that we can’t help you access PERT - we can only provide information. In the longer team, we are also starting to look at how research may help us to find alternative ways to make PERT. We hope this helps! If you need any support, you can reach our specialist nurses on freephone 0808 801 0707. 💜

I am struggling with the medical system. My abdominal pain started 7 weeks ago ,, back pain 4 weeks ago,, Stool has been weird in all 7 weeks, and i lost weight before the abdominal pain started but it has accelerated the last 4 weeks,, Lost around 1 stone in 4 months.. The last 2.5 weeks I have had weird diabetic symptoms but the GP does not believe me as a blood work done 3 weeks ago showed that the long term (7 weeks prior) blood sugar looks good,. no elevated C19-9 or pancreatic amylas leves. my life have been hell.. and in a breakup with children involved at the same time.. Sickleave from work ,, away from my kids due to anxiety. I have had constantly short term headaches and high blood pressure due to the fluctuations in bloodsugar.. I take enzymes with every meal now to avoid losing to much weight. Have a doctors appointment tomorrow which is exactly 7 weeks since the abdominal pain started.. I need a diagnosis ASAP,, I need a scan.. I think it has spread to the perinium and the lymphs.. A soon as you notice you loose weight contact your doctor.. ( i have not been checking my weight).. and if you look att fasting bloodsugar levels,,, that could indicate something is wrong,, say you always been having a fasting blood sugar around 4.5 to 5.0 ,, if you suddenly looking at 5.5 to 6.5 (you should react) ,, an american man who was very fit and active in his late 40s noticed this about his blood sugar and got a scan and was in early stage 2 so it was possible to surgically remove the tumor. I suspect stage 4 PC in my case and a limited amount of months left to live.

bring back memories,my lifepartner passed away to pancreatic cancer. he was only 43,always healthy, lived active life, never drinked or eated junk food. he found out at the stage 4, it was in so bad place that they coudnt operate on him. chemo didnt really do much, other than made him sick, so he decided to stop chemo and live happy life as long as he could with just cleaning body, juicing, intermitting fasting and he did had almost 4yrs. even with chemo it wasnt guarantee that he would of lived, and he wasnt really living because it made him so sick. to be able to work and train and do normal things, he had to stop chemo. its been 7yrs since he passed away.

I am watching this with great fear.. I have been stressed from a relationship breakup and we have kids together.. which lead to a panic attack a year ago.. I have had some history of more frequent diarre the last 9 months but thought nothing of it. I have had abdominal pain for nearly 4 weeks now and now I seem to suffer from prediabtic symptoms,, (high fasting glykos levels), dry mouth and such.. I even feel that I have began developing a slighty sore back.. I went to the doctor and since i have a history of stress and panic they just meassured my blood sugar (6.3) which i feel was high since i had walked 5k prior to the meeting and just had a couple of bites of apple and two slices of orange at least an 1.5 hours before the meeting. Yesterday i felt a lump on my backhead.. Not sure If I had that before , or at least so pronounced. I will meassure my blood sugar this sunday morning ,, and go to the weekend reception and get an opinion on this mornings sugar count and the fact that I have a lump.. which could be a secondary brain tumör which originally came from the pancreas. THen I have maybe 4 weeks to live.

I am scheduled for a CT scan next week because of increased blood sugar, regular diarrhoea, weight loss and fatigue. Our journey took 9.5 months, never thought I would be here, and convinced myself that we would be in the luckiest survivor group. My mom suffered so much; 2 major Whipple surgeries, and lots of chemo sessions with a three-month hospital stay in only less than a year. So sorry for her, too much pain to bear… I was fully aware of all possible outcomes, even in earlier stages and the survival rates, but strongly believed that we could at least have min. 2-3 years to spend and fight for it. Never imagined it would last 9.5 months. I’m not telling how all surgeries, treatments, and chemotherapies were delivering excellent results for the first 8 months as doctors were stating… maybe was an illusion… But everything we built up, improved, and achieved all family unified with solidarity collapsed in a month with an abdominal metastasis. I don't have any words to say, just holding my tears and the pain left in my chest and heart. No words to say. 🖤
