This team looks tired, both physically and mentally. I really don’t think they have enough gas to win 4 rounds. Maybe an early playoff exit isn’t the worst thing, they can use the time to recharge and reload for next season.

I really think that it was never a good idea to put Tkachuk with Barkov and Reinhart. And it's an even worse idea to keep him there. It's been so bad that the chemistry between Barkov and Reinhart isn't even working. Barkov and Reinhart have been pretty much better with anybody else. I don't know why they made that move.

This game was lost because of piss poor D play by #2 and #26 in the last period and our superstar players are officially on the back of a milk carton; MISSING! All of them. Barkov even looks gassed. No way this group can “turn it on” when playoffs begin. They need to figure out where they lost their game, how to get rejuvenated or what missing piece they need at the deadline or you can kiss a repeat goodbye

They really need a right shot defenseman to play with Mikkola and to run the PP. Kulikov, Schmidt, Bjornfot, Boqvist and BaliInskis are all bottom pairing Guys

With the honoring of first responders i didn't expect a win. And the 3rd period effort ensured a loss. It would have been like the cats went in there and kicked puppies had they won. So Another meh game. The dbl back to back road trip is brutal. Made tougher by having the tougher teams at the ends of them both. Spencer needs goal support. Go Cats eventually 😂

Let's hope the cats get another ring this season so ekblad can move on and open the door for bjornfoot staying. Mikola and balinskis would be a decent 2nd pair and bjornfoot and kuli 3rd pair next season if ekblad stays. Team look ok vs ducks. Kings are on another level it should be playoff like. Go Cats

Bob has carried us 2 years in a row. I hope people don't do "the thing" they did when Alex Lyon was here with Spencer Knight. I'm pleased with Spencer's emergence as a good and legitimate NHL goalie, but we aren't winning another cup this year without Bob between the pipes. GO CATS.

Apparently yelling don't piss me off for the pre game worked.

They didn't look completely dead tonight but terrible penalties at the start again. And the 2 goals they did score were flukey so that wasn't the best either, especially against Gibson who usually never lets those in.

Tonight's game resembled our old selves. We played with lots of tenacity and I think we're going to be better from now on. Now, from these few games that Björnfot has been playing in the lineup, and considering he was "Defenseman of the Month" in the AHL, I think it's good to keep him in the lineup. He looks totally focused on the game, he just need to clean up some minor mistakes and generate offense when given the chance. Jaws, about the D-men with expiring contracts: - Nate Schmidt (800k, 2026 UFA) - Adam Boqvist (775k, 2026 arbitration-eligible RFA) - Tobias Björnfot (775k, 2026 arbitration-eligible RFA) I wouldn't mind if we kept Adam Boqvist and let go of Nate Schmidt. Schmidt can sometimes be useful, but he isn't in his prime anymore, and he's anything but an OEL replacement. Adam Boqvist on the other hand, if he can get his head in the game, he can be a very good D-man, especially since he seems to be one of the fastest skaters out there. Unfortunately Connor Murphy is on IR right now, so he's not someone we could think of a potential Ekblad replacement. Another D-man we can take a look at is Seattle's Jamie Oleksiak. 32 years at a cap hit of 4.60M (16-team NTC). His contract will expire in 2027, when he'll be an UFA. I've also heard talks that the Panthers are maybe interested in Cody Ceci and/or Mario Ferraro. Ceci was a bit disastrous for the Oilers, but Ferraro is young (26), he's the Sharks' current 2nd alternate captain, with a cap hit of 3.25M which will expire in 2027. I dunno much about Cody Ceci, he seems like a liability, but it would be good if we could get either Oleksiak or Ferraro. Oleksiak is a monster, at 6'7" and 257 lbs, while Ferraro is smaller and slimmer, at 6'0" and 209 lbs. Neither Oleksiak or Ferraro score many goals, with Oleksiak having 3 goals, 6 assists and 12 PIM, while Ferraro has 4 goals, 4 assists and 30 PIM. Personally, I'd go with Oleksiak. As long he doesn't turn into a Zadorov-like situation for us (big-ass D-man who is slow as hell on the ice and takes dumb penalties every time), I think that his smaller amount of PIM might be beneficial for us, considering we cannot stay out of the box for the love of God. Ekblad keeps taking dumb penalties like a bum. Ekblad's got 39 PIM for Christ's sake.

Bob is still the guy but Spencer is shaping up to be Bob 2.0 I think Bjornfot is Schmidt’s replacement imo I’d like 42 - 77 7 - 26 5 - 2 (jersey numbers of the players )

Just a thought but what about Bob on Tuesday and Knight on Wednesday against the Kings. Is Bjornfot here to stay once Ekblad comes back?

Had our 30 seconds of fame, the D is terrible, no depth, Bob looks cooked, probably early playoff exit, and by chance we make it back to Finals, we wont, but anyone of the top 4 western conference teams will kick our ass
