We are trying to give the hunters an alternative to booking through an agency because we know how many benefits there are by booking directly with the outfitter. You can communicate and match expectation with the one person who knows the most about the hunt, which is the outfitter/guide. We have heard far too many stories about agencies selling hunting trips they don't know nothing about. By booking directly with the local outfitter you can get a feeling about which type of person you are dealing with, which is very nice if you are going to stay together in a little tent on a 20 day Stone Sheep hunt in Canada. I know you think you get the same prices, but I'm positive a local outfitter can give you a better offer. Where do you think it is cheapest to buy a rifle, from the manufacturer or from the retailer.

Hunting agencies that sell a hunting trip they don't know anything about, are not reliable hunting travel agencies, they are booking agencies, and this is not what I'm talking about... I mentioned booking through an "honest and reputable hunting travel agency". This one will hunt with every single outfitter before offering any hunts to you, which is a huge advantage. It's as if you have sent someone to test the hunt for you, before jumping on board to the middle of nowhere (All this for the exact same commission that you earn and that bookyourhunt earns for example). I don't know about the others, but I'm positive i get the exact same prices with the agency i book my hunts with! Because i tried to go directly with the outfitters several times. A good manufacturer that cares about his brand, maintains one price among all distribution channels. I travel around 12 times a year for hunting, I've tried hunting agencies and direct bookings, and i experienced in most cases, a hunting travel agency has same cost with extra benefits and saves you a lot of time. This doesn't mean booking directly through an outfitter doesn't have its advantages, but in my opinion they are less. You might have other opinions which i also respect.
