You can use it on him but it's useless similar like Deflecting for breaking his posture. Even if his posture is red you still have to hit him with lighting 5-6 times to get to his 2nd phase.

Use the demon bell and go around to the back (while facing where you would get the mortal blade) go left and turn right and go out the door and turn left and there will be another guy you can stab in the back (occasionally drops magnitight) and then turn the corner and go up to the other guy just enough to get his attention and then run back around the corner and peek until he turns around and then run out and get another free back stab and then you can kill the other guy too so three free back stabs and 1-2 magnitight per run pre- genchiro and scrap iron
