I live in Iran. Unfortunately, the inflation of one thousand percent of the economy caused the price of our motorcycle to increase 10 times. Our salary is only one hundred dollars a month and the price of this engine is 7,500 dollars☹☹☹☹

I purchased a 2016 from a dealership in Massillon, Ohio in October, 2020. They had three 2016’s and five 2015’s for sale for $2399. They all had zero miles but were being sold as “USED” bikes (No Warranty). I had a 2005 Yamaha XV250 Virago that I dearly loved (bought it in 2016 with only 1100 miles). I really loved the Virago and didn’t want to part with it. I paid $1500 and immediately installed street pipes, floor boards, saddlebags, windshield and a tach. It was my little cruiser for around town. It weighed 326 lbs and had 19 horses (the GV250 Aquila weighs 388 lbs and 28 horses). They are pretty equivalent for power to weight and top speed. The Virago got 72 mpg (after street pipes and bigger carb jets, about 60 mpg). The Virago has a 2-1/2 gal tank while the Aquila has a 3-1/2 tank. I’d be looking for the gas station at 120 miles with the Virago. With the Aquila, I’m pulling in for gas at 240 miles. I’m assuming I’ll tweak even more once it gets broken in ( just hit the 500 mile 1st oil change this week). Like I said, I love the Virago but had too many toys so I did the smart thing! I sold it to my son who’s 10 minutes away, and I have a key to his garage (anytime I get the urge to visit it!). Problem is, ... I think the Aquila beats the Virago hands down! It rides smoother, handles nicer, takes me twice as far between fill ups, and looks like a much bigger bike. Truth be told, (seldom is the truth ever told), it’s my favorite bike. I’ve had a Yamaha 250 V-Star, 650 V-Star, 950 V-Star, and a Kawasaki 650 Vulcan S. I love the Aquila!

After 30 years I decided to go back into motorcycling. I ended up with a Aquila GV250 EFI. My thoughts were, lets get a bike to just toy around at the lake drive or for a sunday morning stroll before the wife has the lunch ready. The Bike looks bigger than a 250cc and it is bigger. After riding the Bike I changed my mind. This is not a toy. That is real. I'll think this bike is a quality machine that deserves every bit of attention. But it is also a prove that quality, reliability and practicality often can not be measured by Dollar and Cent. How could I describe it? Well - it reminds me on a BMW R 45 that I had in the 1980ies. And the specs on both Bikes, the R-45 and the Aquila GV 250, are almost the same. Riding the Aquila GV 250 on a Freeway is an ease, but you have to find the right springload adjustment for your taste. Cruising down a Hwy wit 75 mph (120 km/h) is no problem. The machine seems to take it easy and has power left to accelerate and comfortably pass another vehicle. I'll took it out for a weekend ride to the Hill Country, East TX to New Brownsville - Fredericksburg and back. Drove it 900 miles on that weekend without a hiccup. I could easily keep up with the Joneses, in fact some of the Joneses with their Honda Rebel 300 had a hard time to keep up with the Aquila GV250. I really fall in Love with this little bike. It is definitely a keeper. Never forget: Whatever you do, make sure, you go not faster than your guardian angel can fly.

I have one of these and I have had NO trouble with it at all. I bought a center stand and put on mine and that made a good bike even better.

I've been researching for hours and it seems the only downside to this bike is it needs premium because of the high compression (though more power) and its a bit heavier than the yamaha V-star 250? I'm moving to L.A and there are dealers there for htis brand, however, I'm not sure how this rides vs the Yamaha V-star. This is the best review on this bike I've seen..seems not many reviews on it -underrated as you said. Can you change to a smaller tooth sprocket to lower the RPMs per gear? Also, I'm 5'9" 170-175b. Thanks!

Mordy S ive got the 2013 model, had it for 18months & its solid, keeps up easily with traffic, the bike is physically the same size as a v-star 650, so way bigger then the 250 v-star. im in canada & the dealer network up here is crap, but parts are easily available online. id take this over the v-star 250 any day. both for physical size & power. im 5' 11" & about your weight & i can ride thisall day no problem

Hey Matt watch out, the stator and R/R is the first thing to go on this bike apparently.. if it ever stalls out, you need a relly good R/R.. i hear that this is a typical issue with yosung

Nice machine. I have a 02. Very underrated bike. Parts are no problem. It sometimes takes a bit to get them to you. But these bikes are pretty common in Asia, Europe, Australia. Only issues I've seen are some of the screws may rust quickly if left outside, and not cleaned. Great forum for them is alternative cruisers group.

David C. Gulliver Could you post a video of your bike, if at all possible? I love the idea of customizing "newer" bikes to look like older ones.

Yes, I would love to! I can't wait to do it as well. BUT, I have it @ a shop where I had a few mods added after it was gone through (serviced) after purchase. Finally, it snowed the day after arriving there, and, there has been nothing but snow since. Dave. P.S. I'll ride down to the freezing point, but, below that I become a bear & hibernate. So, it may be a few months til I post a video.

Wow! Thank U x 1,000! I agree with you- this bike deserves your Vlog, it is such a smooth, quiet, lightweight, vibration free bike, that's comfortable to ride, looks 'traditional cruiser' good (for a small bike on a midsize frame), is modestly priced new & is an even better value used, gets over 55MPG, has lots of available of accessories - it's a true 'keeper'. Great video write up, lots of great info, well presented... I have owned two, and, will always keep one in the shed for my partner & young adult boys. I ride mine all the time because it'is so quiet in and around neighborhoods (but, have a GV650 for longer trips too.). You motivate me to do a video review on my own, although you covered it so well - there's not much to add! Thanks again for great work! Dave P.S. I have had no problems with over 10,000km on 2 bikes, just regular services (oil & filter, plugs, air filter, carb balance...) I expect to replace R/R & possibly stator over time though. I have turned mine 'new' 2002 Burgandy/Cream into a Vintage Dresser, post WWII H-D bike with a cross country look: Bags -saddle & fork, windshield, light bar, passenger seat back, floorboards & heel shifter...
