MrJohnnydogwalker aka Johnny Surfdude presents musical offerings made in home studios, Norwich & Cromer (UK).
I play guitar mainly, and a little keyboards, bass & saxophone.
My "virtual" (one man) band The East Runton Surfdudes, records instrumentals - surf, TV / film theme tunes, psychedelia, light orchestral / classical, film noir, Western themes etc.) while looking for inspiration - often found on YT.
Constructive suggestions welcome including collaborations!
My partner Annabel is a singer in a Norwich choir and we have recorded a lot of pop/ modern country type songs. Annabel also provides harmonies / backing vocals for songs recorded with my friend Larry (see the link to "Soft Phenomena" below). Mainly classic rock / pop but we'll try anything!
Current set up for recording: Fostex D2424LV used with FL Studio DAW
I used to make demo recordings (Flying Pig Studio) since 1980 for many local bands using reel -to -reel recorders until computers took over!

Thanks! My home studio is at Hillside, Cromer. A small room- drums are programmed (hit by hit, a very laborious process) but I have made it my business to study drum tutorials to get realistic results. I play the rest! I will check out your material 😊 sounds interesting-cheers!

Lovely sax playing. Looking at the video I was struck of how dated it looks with only white actors on view. Streets of San Francisco was another show with no black faces. It surprised me when I visited the city in 2000 how many people of colour live and work there. Anyway … guitar work is excellent.😊

Thanks Tim, for the kind words - but professional? sadly no! I was a trainee sound recordist with the BBC for a very short time, and have a treasured (!) "no vacancies at present ..." letter from EMI studios Abbey Road. c.1975. Plus many more similar. So music became a hobby only.

@@MrJohnnydogwalker that’s fine. It’s just part of the process. I have recently been asked to supply music notation to songs the Tendring Male Voice choir want to cover. I have tried out all the major AI transpose programs and found them rubbish. I now play melody and lead using Wavepad in sections until I have the whole piece done on my guitar. I then copy the joined up WAV file into my BAND IN A BOX and name it melody. I can then print out the song in music notation with the chords and lyrics shown where they should be. I could of course use a midi keyboard and record direct into BIAB but I’m not a keyboard player and so my Heath Robinson approach gives me what I want.
