Do you make a paste with the baking soda
Yes, then softly scrub gently, rinse and do gently.
What is the baking soda used for in the process
To help scrub off any hairspray lotion, or anything that gets on the Jewelry or Diamonds
Never be sorry for speaking for the vast majority
That’s very nice, but whether they are diamonds or crystals, I’d like to learn how to clean, maybe 10 earrings on the same day after soaking them for 48 hours. My stud backs collect a lot of debris.
You ANEVER USED or told us what to do with the SODA! 😮
Another good way is to put a pot on the stove low heat, adding dawn, and then using a tooth brush clean like she did. Then finish off with a cotton rag. Works with gold and diamonds in my experience.
I did this today and it made a huge difference. My earrings and diamond ring look like new. Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing! This makes my heart so happy! I so appreciate you being a part of my day!
Can you use white vinegar instead of ammonia?
Yes! Rise with baking soda/ water solution to remove the oder then rinse with water. Recommend for diamonds not other gemstones
@@ginathegemologist Thank you! I assume you mean 'rinse' not 'rise'?
@@alicecossar5526 yes! 😇
I never knew I could use the ammonia windex to clean my diamonds all your tips were so helpful and the gems are shining bright again! you also taught me to check my prongs with my finger! Great to know now :) I didn't end up using the baking soda because I wasn't sure if I should make a paste to clean with the toothbrush or add it into the ammonia and water but it worked perfectly just using the solution! Thanks so much Gina!
Great tip with using window cleaning solution, the detergent and ammonia definitely softened the "build up". I only needed to brush it with a soft toothbrush. The bristles were able to get all around and easily remove the dirt. 👍
That’s wonderful to hear thank you so much for taking the time to leave this comment! I appreciate you being a part of my day!

Where does the baking soda come in?
What was the baking soda for?
Fr I was waiting to find out
Baking soda is used for the jewelry that has caked on lotion, hairspray & all the things. You can scrub the jewelry with baking soda to break up the crusty stuff. My apologies for the delay in response!
I want you to ask the best X-rays can identify diamonds as aqm some color diamonds and in my area can not say - I can send you a photo if you give an email
She look high asf 😂

Lol
Is ammonia safe on diamond
Yes, ammonia is safe to you on diamonds, earth minded or lab grown diamonds.
Will a headlight restoration product make a diamond more clearer?
Is this safe to do with white gold?

Sorry for writing you, just out of curiosity your page come up on my suggested friend lists so I was just wondering if I knew you from somewhere???
Thank you! May I use this with Moissanite. Would. 1.60 ct tw stud earrings be better than a 2.40 ct tw stud earrings for that normal everyday wear without looking like I spend a lot of money ?
Hi New Moon In Cancer, What is the diameter sizes on the 1.60cttw vs. the 2.40 cttw? There are severals things to look at, diameter is a great start.
So the windex doesn’t harm the diamond right?
Hi B0nNcy, No, windex does not hurt diamonds.
How do I clean rust from my diamond studs
Hi Dawn, can you email me a picture? ginathegemologist@gmail.com
What about the baking soda?
The baking soda is to help take the dirt if the jewelry is very dirty.
Gina, how can I purchase your magnifier?
Hi Myss Shannon, We can connect via email. ginathegemologist@gmail.com or if you would like I can email you. Let me know what is best for you.
The key to a great magnifier is purchasing a Triplet one. That way there is no distortion.
@@ginathegemologist thanks so much!!!🙋🏽♀️
So the baking soda wasn't needed.. Lol
Hahaha not on these earrings oops. The baking soda is to help take the dirt if the jewelry is very dirty.
She never used the baking soda!
The baking soda is to help take the dirt if the jewelry is very dirty.
So I'm missing some ammonia...
Ammonia helps loosen up any harden lotion, food or anything else.
Gina I do need that magnifier.
It helps when checking your jewelry for potential problems but it’s not necessary. It’s recommended to have a professional jewelry store check it once a year, which they would use magnification to inspect it.
Is windex better than dish soap and why?
Hi Vanna, I like Windex best because it is easier to clean off than soap. Dawn soap works great too. It is personal preference. Which is a great point! Thank you for commenting.
hey! i don’t baking soda right now but is it okay if i just use the winded and water for now
Yes, water & windex will work great. The baking soda is for the extra dirty pieces.
Thank you for this video! I was nervous to clean my own jewelry, but I feel more equipped to try it because of this video!!
Thank you so much for the feedback! Glad it was helpful!
So,what was the baking soda for?
And how do you use it?
Christina Siqueiros to remove the lotion, hairspray & environment off put a little baking soda on a soft toothbrush, get it wet and gently scrub. Not putting to much pressure to keep the jewelry safe.
What was the baking soda for??
Alan Seann thanks for your question. The baking soda helps remove any hairspray or other debris that gets on earrings.
Hi I have been experiencing this problem but the thing is I feel like there is a pain in my arm which seems to be stemming from my ring finger did this happen to you as well
Kushmanie Reddy thank you for your question. I did not have pain in my arm. If I did I would visit a medical doctor, acupuncturist or naturopathic.
I love this, I am sharing with my GF immediately.
