    Good thing that intentional flying elbow didn't connect with a player wearing white before #22 received his tech foul....

    The coach has every right to be pissed. There's no way a tech could be called there. They Were trying to put the kid at the line and it wasn't a rough foul or anything. Piss poor officiating.

    I can't get past how stupid the parents are. Saying that should be a tech... That's another T... Terrible ignorance and proud of the "victory" when ref called the game as the coach was out the door leaving.

  • @kevg4743

    The fans behind the camera are idiots. They don't know the first thing about basketball rules. The refs seemed to be influenced by the same fans behind the camera. The original "foul" should have been jump ball. The blue player was the one to continue fighting for the ball after the whistle. Coach was in the right to argue the call. I've seen far worse without anything from the refs. It looks like the refs had a bias against the white team and favored the blue team.

  • @thomasmckenzie4584

    It started because the ref called a brutal intentional foul. It was not an intentional foul. The kid on defense actually had his hands on the ball when the foul was called. I have no problem with them calling a foul there, but no way was it an intentional foul. This is exactly why coaches lose it at the end of games. You know the defense is trying to foul or go after the ball. Don't be a douche bag and call an intentional foul and basically ending the game. And yes, the coach is a douche bag for losing his mind, but I can't really blame him.

  • @Wrestleastavagansa
    @Wrestleastavagansa 7 років тому

    saying "Ref You're Horrible" shouldn't even be a tech let alone ending the game, if you are a ref, it's your job to take verbal abuse. Disgraceful!

    • @ilyazhitomirskiy9218
      @ilyazhitomirskiy9218 5 років тому

      The coach said "That's freakin' horrible!", which could be construed as profanity in this situation. He said this after repeatedly arguing that his player was going for the ball, and after the official showed him how his player fouled.

  • @johnd17815
    @johnd17815 7 років тому

    Horrible game management on part of the officials. Double whistle in which one foul intentional, the other a common foul. The voices in the background know nothing about basketball. The women stating it should be a tech is an idiot. You still get the ball and at point of interruption vs half court with a technical. Look up the def of technical foul. The officials clearly let this game get out of control. People in the stands are idiots.

    The coach went overboard, but that was an AWFUL intentional foul call. He was going for the ball. Teams are always trying to foul at the end of the game to stop the clock and get the ball back. I can't stand when refs do this. Unless the defender tackles the kid, it isn't intentional.

    • @ilyazhitomirskiy9218
      @ilyazhitomirskiy9218 6 років тому

      The intentional foul call is correct. Grabbing a player and wrapping him up, like White 22 did, SHOULD be called an intentional foul, because that is not an attempt to play the ball. This is an NFHS Point of Emphasis for this season.

  • @jersey4life31
    @jersey4life31 7 років тому

    a tech for trying to stop the ball???? MORONS! It's up to the ref to make a quick call, if there's 3 guys fouling and it takes the ref 10 min to make the call, eventually someone is going to get hit hard. besides the other kid was swinging his elbows around, that could have been called too.

    A contact foul against a player while the ball is live can't be a technical foul, and I didn't see anything there that I would call excessive after the whistle blew. The crossed wrists above the head can mean flagrant or intentional. The coach earned both techs, but you can't give him a third. After two, he is no longer the coach, and the referees must suspend the match if he won't leave.

  • @troydonald207
    @troydonald207 7 років тому

    We judged the coach and the referee crew with absolute certainty after seeing only 0:21 seconds of actual play time out of a 32 minute game. I have coached before and I am an official now. I have/had a video where an opponent threw a wild elbow. after an intentional foul (deserved) on my player. I got one technical for arguing the call. I never used profanity I simply asked "So I guess neither of you saw that flying elbow?" I my opinion I did not see an "intentional" but for the coach to come out yelling on the floor across half court was enough for a technical. I had a coach meet me as I was reported a foul. I looked to see if he had an injured player or was trying to call a time out. I asked him to return to his bench. He responded with profanity I hit him with a T.

    • @goodros
      @goodros 7 років тому

      This is the worst you've ever seen? You need to get out more. No referee has the authority to rule a forfeit, they can only suspend the match. These referees did everything exactly right.

    • @ilyazhitomirskiy9218
      @ilyazhitomirskiy9218 5 років тому

      @@goodros I would beg to differ with you. Rule 5-4-1 of the NFHS rulebook states that "The Referee may also forfeit a game if any player, team member, bench personnel, or coach fails to comply with any technical-foul penalty, repeatedly commits technical-foul infractions, or other acts that make a travesty of the game." The official was well within his rights, by rule, to declare the game a forfeit. Rule 2-5-4 also says that "The Referee may declare a forfeit when conditions warrant". A coach repeatedly misbehaving would warrant the game ending in my judgement.

  • @sampleivan1970

    I don't know where to begin on this one. I will say that the officiating was horrible just by looking at the small clip. Who knows what else it was like and how much time was left before they called the game. Back to the refs, they mechanic were real bad. Didn't know if they were calling a tech or intentional. They were out of position and having two trails is not good. You can have Centers for a brief especially if the one center is officiating a play. They let the game get out of control. Due to them not calling the fouls that needed to be called. let's talk about that last play where that official called and intentional on white 22. That was not an intentional, he was going for the ball and the player with the ball was swinging his elbows with the ball. You can hear the Coach call time out and refs didn't hear it because they were to busy ball watching instead of reffing their pc. Where it gets interested is when white 22 took offense to the swinging of elbows. If they wanted to they could have ejected both players. Reason for malicious swinging of the elbows and retaliation. Then the ball would have been giving back to the team in black due to poi. That's my two cents on this situation. The officials didn't handle their business out there and they cause this mess.

      Yeah, the officials were doing the crossed-arms signal, which means intentional foul, not technical foul. An intentional foul is a foul which is given for excessive contact, contact which is not an attempt to play the ball, or illegal contact on an off-ball player. The player in white was guilty of an intentional foul, and the coach was ejected for arguing that. The officials decided to forfeit the game because the coach refused to leave the premises.

    • @joshkotek7211
      @joshkotek7211 7 років тому

      There wasn't a tech called originally either. It was an intentional foul for grabbing the dribbler around the waist, which imo isn't even that bad.. it's just a normal foul without intent on going for the ball. More often than not I see players intentionally fouling in the last minute of the game in order to get to the basket (for fuck knows what reason, I think it's stupid because you're just giving the other team free throws), so really it WAS an intentional foul, but no, a tech wasn't called

    • @BruinsChampions2011
      @BruinsChampions2011 7 років тому

      Teams intentionally foul at the end of a game in the hopes that they will get the ball back quicker, and maybe the other time will only get 1 or 0 points. It stops the clock and potentially gets them the ball quicker instead of running the clock out

    • @chitownref
      @chitownref 8 років тому

      +Greg B Incorrect. In NFHS play a head coach can receive a maximum of 3 indirect technicals (these consist of administration technicals for something like a book error or an assistant on the bench gets a direct technical) or two direct technicals. In this video he received two direct technicals and was ejected. He cannot receive anymore, if he won't leave in a timely fashion then the referees can start issuing bench technicals which would count as an indirect technicals to the new head coach or call the game.

    • @gregb612
      @gregb612 8 років тому

      According to the KHSAA, 4 T's are the limit in my state. The first 2 lead to an ejection, the second set of 2 become unsportsmanlike T's that carry suspension and the game is called. It may just be that we referee in different leagues with different rules. I like your way better.
