    On such narrow stretches of water, those long oars are mostly useless.

      @TagVids 11 місяців тому

      Interesting, I strongly disagree. Every run has benefits and challenges to navigate, on Cherry Creek all commercial trips have OARS. Paddlers help out a lot too!

      @@TagVids, oars are vital. Long oars, though, are cumbersome and ineffective when there is not enough room to handle them.

    Ran this with Sierra Mac around 1990 or so, just after Memorial Day. Snowed the night before. Around $350 IIRC. Do you still do the swim test ?

      @TagVids 11 місяців тому

      Yes, the swim test is essential to the safety aspect of our program. It gives great perspective on what it takes to swim out of the river and get acclimated to the frigid waters! 🍒🏞🛶🌊

    where are the rafts being taken out at??? Old Wards Ferry being closed seems to leave floating down to the lake, what say you.

      @@SierraMacRiverTrips Thanks for the videos and the memories, lads. My and my team used to run this at 1000-2500 cfs in our Dancers in the early '90s -- and yeah, this tape is a little lower (1200 cfs?) but it captures the excitement! I can still remember flying off the rock in Lewis' Leap! Makes me wanna take a seat in a raft and do it all again!

    I'm glad you got to shoot this trailer before the rim fire. Most people would have never seen the beauty of this wilderness canyon, now even the adventurers will have only memories of what once was.
