Sickness / queezy feeling has completely gone - just had to have a few goes and it's no longer - feel nothing negative from the headset anymore. Give it like 5 - 6 trys until you're feeling a bit off and you can go longer each time you retry. Eventually you just don't get sick anymore. Thanks for watching all. Also to mention: you see everything in 1:1 world scale. That together with real 3D vision and headtracking gives you that "I'm really there" feeling.

6:50 speaking of fear and i take the Mclaren F1 over 10x T.50. But if i had this much money, i would buy both. and as a spoiler.. i might be working on a Mclaren F1 mod aswell.. for Assetto Corsa and later AC Evo :)

Very hard to go back and play GT7 on a flat screen after you've played it in VR
No it's not, maybe if you don't play on screen regularly, but I also play other racing games that don't support VR, sometimes I just don't feel like putting on the headset for gt7, especially if I have friends over who like gt7 as well
For anyone having any dizziness issues, perhaps try a small USB fan mounted to your desk, or Sim rig, pointed up near your face while driving…? As silly as this sounds, that has actually helped me out quite a bit. I have had PSVR for the better part of two years now, and it has helped me quite a bit. If you’re able to take it a step (or a few few) further, as well… See what other haptics you can add to your rig (assuming you were using a wheel… Though, this could be just fine with controller users as well)… Haptics, I mean, some sort of way to add additional vibration in other parts of your body. I am no physician or anything like that, but I can only theorize that what this all does is help with the disorientation you experience since you are seeing yourself moving through time and space, but not feeling it… Perhaps this bridges that gap. I made a video about this a little while back (I don’t need the views, per se; I’m not a content creator, and I don’t make money off UA-cam… I just offer the point of conversation to see if it might help anyone else - have a listen if you’re curious!)… ua-cam.com/video/j4g8L5Z9xeI/v-deo.htmlsi=bElJQ4xlLbq_tBnG PSVR is ABSOLUTELY the best way to experience Gran Turismo. @@redleaderracing they are so good, i have a gamer pro under my suzuki swift seat on a timber rig hooked up thru sim hub, it takes 10 mins to set up once and then its always ready to go.

There is no substitute for VR. People mock those who say "no VR no buy" but only if you go VR you understand what a difference it makes. The only issue i have with VR is it's twitchiness and it's one of the factors that cause negative reactions. What you're looking at is just not stable enough. I wish they could add a smoothing function, or some kind of stabilization. It would make things a lot better.

I bought the first PSVR used for cheap and I wasn't impressed. Too much screen door effect and I did experience some nausea.

The increased attention to weight transfer dynamics is particularly impressive, especially when driving older cars like this one. This improvement not only makes the driving experience more realistic but also adds a layer of depth and challenge that wasn't there before, making each race more engaging and satisfying. Especially in VR 👌
Bought psvr2 yesterday because the sale was too good to refuse. About three minutes in, my daughter came downstairs to check on me because I was gasping and giggling like a kindergartener. 😂 Raced for two hours with no motion sickness, but looking out either side window at speed caused a little queasiness. Used ginger chews and ginger ale before loading in, so that may have helped. Great vid, and cool transitions between vr and irl. Subbed 👍🏾

I agree with the comparison of playing in 2d vs. playing in VR is like going back to playing on Nintendo 64 vs. playing on PS5. But I have another theory that putting VR replays on UA-cam for viewing in 2d actually hurts the prospect of trying to sell people on VR. Because the replays are so jarring and shaky that watching them is far from fluid and a near polar opposite of the experience. The best way I could describe it is that in VR you have Christopher Nolan shooting a masterpiece with the latest high-tech film cameras, but the footage that is shown in the movie trailer is shot on a $100 Kodak digital camera from the 90's and edited by Michael Bay. I see no reason ever to put a VR replay of Gran Turismo on UA-cam unless your goal is to scare people away from VR. Those that are highly sensitive to motion sickness will likely be ready to vomit just from a 10 minute replay of VR footage without ever needing to throw on a headset.
y'know, .I agree mostly. Only thing is it isn't ALWAYS jarring and you can get some good content out of it if you're smooth with your head movement. IF you are it's watchable but you're totally right as most of the time it's horrible to watch so I'm super aware of it. Can even be more pronounced if you're stick shifting but less so with paddle. I'm totally aware of it so producing content with a VR headset is tricky as you want to make it as easy to watch as possible. I'm gonna publish some races in VR so I hope they go ok as I'd hate to resort to only uploading them in 2d - great thing to point out though.
I really hope Sony will add camera stabilization to the view that is sent through HDMI... My phone has this and video recordings are really so stable your videos look way more professional! I bet Sony can do that, just wonder if they care enough to figure something like that out on VR2
@@High.on.Life_DnB would be interesting actually. DaVinci resolve can actually do this in its editing program like an after effect but haven't tried how well it works

@@High.on.Life_DnB I believe when it works so well in your phone it is due to optical image stabilizer and hardware sensors that tell the software how to counteract the camera shake. But it does seem like there must be something going on within the headset as well to display the image as it does in the headset. The system is not perfect in the headset and has drift, so you often have to reset the viewpoint to center. Seems like there should be a way to reverse engineer that to output a more stabile video. Actually I know that it is possible because my Quest 2 did improve in stabilization of the output recordings over time with updates. Still is not seamless though and only helped with recorded videos and didn't really offer any improvement towards live casting or streaming VR.

Don't use any liquid on the lens of psvr2 just microfibre cloth, the best bet is to get the VR rock lenses, they will save all the hassle and stop scratches. Funny video thanks😢, if you like VR best place to get info from is without Patrol on youtube if you haven't Heard of it before.

@@redleaderracing I had a few minutes before leaving the house to test it and it already blew my mind. I went straight onto eigernordwand and the first two corners got me so freaking dizzy haha. Its so crazy. This evening after work i will try to get comfortable with this 😅

When you say it's not suited to shooters I would strongly disagree. I've been playing shooters in VR for well over 6 years and had some of the best experiences in VR playing shooters. The sense of presence you have with your friends playing shooters is incredible. I've made a ton of friends playing online shooters. Some of the single player shooters are amazing too. Like Resident Evil village. Arizona sunshine 2. Star wars tales from the Galaxy's edge. Half life Alyx on PC. I think practically every genre is better in VR. For people new to VR the "Cock pit" stuff is a great way to get your VR legs.

@@redleaderracing For online shooters like Pavlov, Firewall Ultra, Alvo on PSVR2 for example, a stock like the Vader one can really make a difference in both accuracy and immersion. It's almost as important to some shooters as a wheel is to racing games.

Love the first time reactions fellow aussie. I remember being mindblown by Gran Turismo back in 1997. Nothing ever came close to that feeling until 25+ yrs later when I tried GT7 in VR for the first time. And every day since then. Truly amazing.

Another Aussie here. Yes, great channel. I, too, play exclusively in VR now. I started my journey in ANY sort of gaming with GT Sport in late 2020 on a PS4 Pro, home-made pine desk, and G29. Now I have a G Pro, NLR (another good Aussie brand!) GT Elite, and VR2. I'm in Heaven. EDIT: My partner (aged 70 - I'm 63) has a 2015 Toyota 86! Its black. I put her in the VR2, and trying to be funny, Bathurst. LOL.

@@supercededmansimilar story. I'm 49. I've been playing racing games sinse the 80's. Took a break from gaming for about 15yrs then got back into it in 2019 with a discount PS4 Slim GT Sport from the $10 bin at BigW. Quickly upgraded to a G29, then an NLR GT Extreme, then later upgraded the wheel to a Thrustmaster TG-T and load cells. Got GT7 at launch. Played for a month then went back to ACC and iRacing. Got PSVR2 at launch and all I play now is GT7.

I use Carl Zeiss lens cleaning swabs. They are perfect. Not a cloth as such. Used by optometrists for cleaning lenses on their expensive equipment

For those watching this and not feeling it, the 2d representation of what you see in the VR is abysmal, what you see in the VR looks so much better, quicker, higher res and has fantastic depth perception. I was blown away the first time I played GT7 on the PSVR2 and am still amazed to this day how good they have implemented it.

ooooh, we must be a similar age - loved the geoff crammond grand prix games, played them to death and would love a decent F1 game on the PS5 with VR. Gt7 VR was almost worth the price of the headset for me, if the rallying was a little better I would say it is worth the price of the headset - but it's just not a patch on dirt rally VR on the PSVR1. That said, i have got a lot of enjoyment from other games, such as Synapse, Zombieland and Walkabout mini golf. Still won't forgive Sony for absolutely no backwards compatibility with PSVR1 games (they could've at least covered cockpit games as there is no controller tracking required), but the library of games for the PSVR2 has grown very quickly.....way above my expectations. For those getting into GT7 on the PSVR2, I would wholeheartedly recommend getting a steering wheel and pedals set-up, and if your budget allows mount them on a Playseat Challenge X (the logitech branded one - it improves on the excellent standard version, ironing out all the little niggles - and the angled headrest area can be mounted backwards to allow a little more room for the headset)

I did get the psvr2 cause GT7 is brilliant in VR, but I'm still hoping for dirt rally 2 vr DLC, I'll happily pay for it. Cause dirt rally on psvr was awesome. I refuse to buy dr 2 without VR. 😂

I have PSVR with Logitech Pro wheels/pedals and 3D Audio head phones... absolutory incredible immersion. Ill never use a TV screen again.

Yes, that's not just said. VR transforms racing games into lifelike experiences with a high sense of presence. I have found car racing, especially Simcades like GT7 in Flat, extremely boring and unrealistic for decades. I'm glad I'm still young enough to experience VR these days! ;) In my childhood I played F1GP, Indianapolis 500, Stunt Car Racer, Hard Drivin'', Test Drive or Vroom on the Amiga 500. The racing simulation genre is currently the only one where VR is already fairly widespread, at least on the PC. But I've never liked anything as much as GT7, even though on paper the console is much slower than a well-equipped PC. Sony has done a lot for VR with this game alone.
@@tinovfr yep, remember a couple of those old games. you're totally right. It's amazing experience. So glad to be alive at this time of VR integration. So much potential yet to come as well. Imagine even being a passenger co-op style in a rally Sim with a friend driving or vice versa.... I'm going to make a video about VR use cases that haven't been integrated yet in car Sims. I've got plenty of ideas.
@@redleaderracing I believe it's also because GT7 in VR lacks several critical information for competitive players. No leaderboard, gaps, pit stops, etc.

I agree. I have a bunch of other awesome psvr2 games, and they are great, but I’d pay double what I paid for it even if I could only play GT7. And you are actually correct about feeling the sun.

It's a niche product with a niche application but I think it takes some realisation of that fact for it to become successful. It just needs 2 or 3 more games at the same quality as Grab Turismo and you'd see way more growth 📈
