Personally, I've always loved it when games have games inside of them, and that's one of the things that had this underrated 2000s gem sitting as one of my favorites back in the day. Funny enough, those games are often more fun than the game I'm actually playing. This game in particular was technically one of the first 2D platforms I ever played, and still to this day I'm a big fan of platforming games. Yeah, you got your mainstream ones like Mario that are fun, but this game is proof that happiness can lie in even the most obscure of places. What makes the experience of playing even better despite the game's very short length is that somehow, I can just tell that the developers of this could have put a lot less care into it, but they didn't. Like with many of the other minigames, it is clear to me that the developers wanted to focus on creating a fun adventure game filled with charm just because they felt like it and wanted to leave their child audience with something to remember. Otherwise, all the games probably would have costed money like makeshift DLC. It's pretty incredible to think about how smaller games like Sparkle Quest can be some of the most memorable things a now-teenage gamer has ever played. The theme song is filled with charm and is very catchy, even if it's the only song in the game, and there's a ton of goodies to find in each of the levels for adventurous children. Why can't games nowadays be like this? Hmm? I've played through the game and collected all 800 stars in all 4 levels (200 × 4) and somehow, doing that was more fun than playing on my freaking Nintendo Switch...

This is definitely a Japanese or Japanese styled video game!! Japan will always be able to perfectly combine a dose of kawaii cuteness and nostalgia!

Ah, this takes the cuteness farther than the original Thrillville's Sparkle Island. It's kinda weird not seeing that big invincible enemy that I called the "house on wheels"...well, until the end of this video, where it appears in a cutscene...
