I mean it is batters interference but the catcher also purposely hit the batter which she shouldn’t have. In the end though it’s batters interference the catcher shouldn’t be ejected

Also, can you post the rule you are referring to that states that the “ catcher is supposed to make a path to throw”? Haven’t come across that and was curious where you got that from.. thanks!

@@GoombaHerethe batter is supposed to stay in the box and the catcher makes a path (typically around the backside of the batter) to make the throw. If the batter stays in the box and the ball hits them it’s the catchers fault. If the batter leaves the box while the catcher is trying to go around to make a play and the ball hits the batter then it’s interference. But here, yes the batter left the box which technically should be interference, but, the catcher purposefully hit the batter which I agree with ump she should be ejected. Both were in the wrong but catcher made the worst decision

@@GoombaHere I’m sure I can find it but it’s definitely a widely known rule and I’ve seen many calls of batter interference when they step out of the box. Only time they’re supposed to step out of the box is when someone is stealing home

When the catcher threw the ball nobody was even covering third base, and she was out of the box. If she remains within the box then yes it would be interfering with the throw/play potential at third.

@@patricksass6577dude you got it backwards, unless it’s different in softball. The batter is allowed to remain in the box and not to move. If they are hit it is not interference. If the batter leaves the box and is then hit the ball it is interference.

@@tarnantulathe batter doesn’t even have to move out of the box for interference. The box is not a safe space, its any movement that hinders the catchers throw.

Malicious contact is going to take precedence over obstruction. However, the run would still score provided there was not a third out before she touched home plate. Someone who coaches the girls to run through a defensive player should not be coaching.

The problem was that the third out had already been called so at that point she should have pulled up

@ryanpearson3355 they were waiting for the ball. If it came or if it wasn't an out the catcher probably moves. But the out was called well before the runner got there but they maliciously ran through the catcher anyway in an attempt to get away with a cheap shot

Yes you are correct. What happens as we started to pull up on it and then decided to make the video. When you start to crank, it’s upright but then it begins to pull forward, However the lean helps to create a space for the truck and root ball. Good luck to you!

Used to do that all the time b4 a strap snapped and the shackle flew into the back window smashing it. 😆 This is way faster and safer

The best way to use a vehicle is the tire method. It pulls the stump up and out instead of trying to pull it horizontally but it is hard to do solo

@@GoombaHere Every stump or bush I have tried, pops right up and out. The tow strap sometimes slips, especially on bushes, but you just reset it until it gets tight. Pro-tips: Use 4 low. You get more torque and more control of the pull because the vehicle moves slower. And use a tow strap with a loop, no buckle... and or drape a heavy blanket over the strap

It’s a long lag bolt, but it did bend a little bit under the pressure. The next time around we use the shorter much thicker bolt and it was great.

@@gregz1235 we cut a little grove in the base of the stump in the back to help but honestly is binds itself up when pressure is applied. We used a long tow chain. Just be careful because these jacks can be unpredictable. We too out about 15 stumps with no issue but we were careful with each one

Not sure I follow you. The rod (bolt) goes through the two wood legs and the jack.

It appears that he does not attach wood leg bolt directly through jack but attaches a flat metal plate bolted to hole in jack then bolts top end of plate through the wooden legs. Apparently the thinner plate allows the top of wood parts to bolt closer together and allows using a smaller diameter bolt than would be otherwise required if the jack separated the wood top farther than a flat plate would. But the bolt did bend anyway. I would have ditched the wood and used metal throughout. .........Reset your video speed to 0.25 and pause when you see the plate.

Thanks for the comment however what is More efficient that removing the stump in less that 60 seconds? Also Most of the roots come out and they are white pines so the root system in not invasive.

Please share some other alternative methods. What do you use to clear the rest of it?

The planks are actually 2 x 3’s. They were on the pavers but they slipped off

@@machomachinmachinmachinmac6910 Yes the 2x3’s Have a bolt going through them and the last hole on the Jack. Jack is also bolted to the board on the ground. In the video you can see the bolts. The bottom of the Jack is not going to slip. It’s very secure. Good luck

We used my neighbors chain which was a tow chain I believe 10 feet long so we were able to wrap it around the tree trunk a few times. You definitely don’t need that length of chain I would say a good 6 feet of chain though so that you could wrap it around

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately the length of the tripod is limited by the length of the jack.

@@GoombaHere The jack has to be mounted for more lift by making a pedestal on which the base of the jack can rest, which may allow longer outriggers for the two legs of the tripod. A few cinder blocks stacked on one another with a short wooden plank, for a cushion will make a great pedestal of 10-20" which will allow for more height. Thanks for the content.
