This is a powerful message that is more relevant today than ever before. Rev. Jenkins makes an urgent appeal to all who hear him to choose Jesus as the center of their lives. This is a sermon that all who hear it should tell someone else about it.

A powerful message of encouragement for those who might be growing weary in the work. This message is universal and timeless, eloquent, but easy to understand. It is a great example of the wisdom and insight of one of the great preachers of that period.

The tragedy of seeing and not believing
Well, I am so glad my mom was strict towards education. Well, I did have moments of being held back in 4th grade, but it didn’t stop me. I finished high school with a diploma at 19 almost 20 years old. Also, I did volunteer/work/attend school in between. I just graduated from college at 31.
Those are all his personal opinions. There is nothing negative about a GED. He did not make any points.
This gentleman's advice seems to be heavily weighted towards the employment problems of Black high school dropout criminal street gang youths! He doesn't seem to realize that many high schools have gotten so loaded with criminal street gang youths that dropping out in favor of a GED diploma can actually be a better alternative. I am Black. I dropped out of high school over 50 years ago and EASILY passed all my GED tests on the first try. I later earned trade school certificates and eventually an associate degree in ELECTROMECHANICAL TECHNOLOGY through passing recognized college level exams. I worked in industry for 25 years and taught as a licensed technical school instructor for 15 years. Having a GED diploma was never a problem!
I have a diploma I am 36 years old and up until this point I can conclude that a GED is equivalent to a diploma in literally every way outside of bragging rights… stop lying to people bro.
I second this motion 👍!
With all due respect, sir, I must disagree. The high school I went to was completely militaristic, and dystopian. The teachers there treated students like potential suspects every single day, and shoved worthless classes down my throat that had no relevance to real life and working life (trigonometry and physics, for example). The typical school day was equal parts anger, verbal abuse, and mental cruelty. My old high school was a place where hope goes to die. I put up with three-and-one-half years of one indignity after another before I finally reached the breaking point, and I finally threw in the sponge to save my sanity and self-respect. Nobody can be successful under dehumanizing conditions like that, nor would want to. So, my life experience suggests to me that high school does more harm than benefit, particularly if the curriculum does nothing to benefit a student's future, as what happened to me. Since then, I've been blessed to do well in both college and law school after the train wreck that was my life in high school. Thus, I have a GED, along with a BS, MS, JD, and 2 LLMs. Thus, I can bring my GED into any room and never be insecure about it.
ancient way of thinking. Some people are so advanced they cant tolerate traditional school.
I tried for over three years and I never got a GED. I came to realization a GED doesn’t determine your ability to learn or work hard, let alone to improve yourself. Speaking as someone who got four jobs without a GED, I am living proof of the fact that you don’t need a GED to create your own business, to find jobs, and improve yourself. A GED is worthless. The good news is that there are viable alternatives out there.
Not because you got by without a GED means that it's worthless! It serves as an alternative path for others in gaining employment. The concepts thought in the GED courses are not an easy walk over! You have to study, read, apply and interpret informations which sharpens your skills in the real world of work. It does set a foundation for additional or higher learning in different disciplines if you so wish to choose. And if you do your research you would see that it's accepted by most colleges while your score is above a certain level. I'm all for second chances in people's life! So don't think people are less educated or beneath you your level just because they did the GED! Many people who have written and passed the GED have gone on to do great stuff and become real important people in life! So your premise and understanding of the whole situation needs to be revisited and revised! Am out!!!

I completely agree with you a high school diploma is far more superior. However if you must dropout for whatever reason. Instead try Riseout. But thank you so much your information really helps I'm on my way to graduating and getting the job of my dreams
How is a high school diploma superior than a GED.
@@Youthmilitarycorps it shows that you actually cared about going to class and taking required classes. You completed your assignments and most importantly you took the traditional approach.
@@OVERLORDCLOWN Nothing you said demonstrates any superiority over the GED. Actually, your statement just shows that you’re an individual who just does what everybody else does. I actually enjoyed attending classes to earn my GED. 100% of employers accept individuals with a GED, and 98% of colleges do as well. There is no superiority; anything you did with your high school diploma, I can do with my GED. I'm about to retire from the Army and I own a military school. People should be careful not to spread false information.

I wasn't allowed to go to school and after failing the GED test eleven times I almost gave up. There are nonprofits who help adults get their diploma (I'm going to do that instead) but they are few and far between. The GED is privately owned and they stuff every educational institution full of their advertisements. It's awful. I didn't want to end up this way. It was completely out of my control and people who went/go to school shouldn't take it for granted. My life was close to ruined because I didn't go to school. Don't throw it away
It was really a trill for me that I found this video when I needed my diploma the most and I don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t see you guy’s talking about Stray Admin on the comment sessions, I was able to get my diploma through the recommendation and I got to admit I’m really happy 🙃🙃..
And it was easy folks, I only had to hit the UA-cam search icon and type in Stray Administration to display his UA-cam Channel..

A lot of people think that a high school diploma are better then a GED, but people with a GED are smart then people with a High school diploma. Because you have and got people with high school diploma that can't read very well, or do mathematics. The school system is to condition you to think on their needs and times. High school students don't know anything about Economics and finance, becoming a boss, high school teachers you to do is, get a job, work a 9 to 5. Read the book, rich dad's poor dad's. By Robert T. Kiyosaki. I know a lot of people with a high school diploma that's dumb as a box of rocks. If you put a high school graduation class in a room right after the day they all graduated, and gave them a GED test most of them would not pass that test.
You don’t know what you talkin about a high school diploma is equivalent to a ged
High school is always considered harder and requires more time and effort than a simple ass GED would take. Keep telling yourself that buddy lol fail
High school diploma is better in every aspect. If you think think a ged will serve you better than good luck....
It’s a nice and enthusiastic video. I got recommended to stray admin tho, through the UA-cam video comment sessions, thanks to them I now have my diploma
Wow That’s superb, I’d like to get a diploma, how do I reach Stray?
It’s a nice video and really educative, but thanks to my husband who found stray admin, I now hold a cert of mine.
Wow That’s superb, I’d like to get a diploma, how do I reach Stray?
Objectively a High School Diploma and GED are equivalent . It’s when feelings come into play that people judge and look down on those who have a GED. You don’t know someone’s story or why they have a GED. I have a GED and I run into people in my graduating class all the time. Highschool, GED and College doesn’t make you intelligent. That’s why companies are valuing experience over College more and more.
Thank you very much for you’re reasonable point. I graduated high school in Nicaragua but never got my diploma because of my US citizenship. I’m 27 and now starting to prep for the GED exams.
When I hear this guy talk, only thing I hear is " getting a job to work for white people" but hey.. whatever rocks your boat, you will be successful with either one... I promise

I disagree with your opinion William Jenkins. The United States of America states that a G.E.D. is the equivalent to and of a High School Diploma. Therefore, a G.E.D. is a High school Diploma.
However, Mr. Jenkins is a very wise and rightfully so experienced man. Obviously a wise counselor type. Furthermore, when you finally meet, come across, or is privileged to listen to someone of this caliber you should at least give them the respect they deserve. What he said; regarding what others that may be interested in hiring you are true. I'll reiterate just in case you forgot. He clearly stated that a young person that graduates from high school, primarily those 4 yrs, with a diploma indicates, to the hiree or institution, that you have learned in the given time/yrs what you should have, by way of discipline and under instruction/authority as a teen, at your young age, that you have accomplished and have demonstrated that you have submitted yourself and learned also what the law requires during that stage of a young person's life. Not to mention he was also correct in the examples he gave regarding a trade school, the Arms Services, and Jr Colleges, or Colleges, etc... I don't know how else to tell you, Lol!
@@Commonsense4Life So other than showing you’re an obedient young lad who knows how to kiss ass and take orders, you get nothing? Great good to know

I have two high school diploma, one is a fully accredited online high school diploma which i got through the county local library program in fremont California, and the other is an Adult high school diploma, No need for a GED .
thanks for the video !
Hi there sir, have questions to ask, I recently watched a video about you explaining the difference between a high school diploma vs a GED, I recently completed a program through the California state library where they help adults get their high school diploma and everything is done online and it's fully accredited so my question is does an fully-accredited online high school diploma holds the same weight as a Traditional high school diploma ?
Yes just depends on how you use it in my opinion only because you probably don't have the time as you would in school if you get what I'm saying
