Best, Marsh, Currie, Hudson, Bowles. Wolves Peter Knowles was the 1st Maverick
Awesome! George Hope is my Dad and we love that he scored for Newcastle - thats not him in his picture though 😊
Kissing his fist after the handball Vs Wales?
Great player joe loved him at utd
Great great material!,
No skill just a thug
You've got to hit the target.
You don't blame goalkeepers you congratulate the scorer - David Coleman
The signing of Duncan was the only good thing Brian Clough did for Leeds. He was brilliant for us and everyone else he played for.
A true Forest legend, a very talented footballer
E for B and Charlie George! (Egg Marketing Board) 🥚 😋
Jeff Astle missed a sitter against brazil
This is the fella who used to jump Mini Coopers, isn't it?
I was an apprentice at the Baggies in 1972, we used to get there at 9am and the 1st team at 10am, as soon as Jeff turned up he would give me a piece of paper and a £10 note, i used to have to go up the bookies and put his bets on for the day, £10 was a lot of money in those days, he was a real gentleman.
Legend, Boing Boing Baggies.!.
Utd great team two wingers gordon hill.steve coppell got promototed from the old second division.tommy docs team.
Always the first managerial sacking of a new Championship Manager 97/98 game.
Trevor inevitably involved is setting up many of the goals...
Loved those days. We should have fared better with players we had in the mid to late '70's.
Halcyon days indeed.
All the best strikers were of slim build to me , Dennis Law & especially Allan Clarke.
A proper centre forward how Jones & Clarke never played for England to together in the early 70s is a mystery to me.
What a great player, i was behind the goal when he scored against the Wolves.
I was a regular at Molineux at this time, he was deadly in front of goal, got picked for England and was played on the left wing.
Great footage of a great club.
Great memories. Became a Villa fan during the 1976-77 season. Loved the forward line of Gray, Little & Deehan. Was year of the famous 5-1 result v Liverpool. Also went on to win the League Cup - followed the final on radio as an 8 year old & remember screaming in delight at Chris Nicholl's equaliser 03:00. Great innocent times
Remember him well proper centre forward great times
What a magnificent player he was.
Makes you realise how good they were back then - lousy pitches & a ball that was probably like kicking a lead weight sometimes
The old water absorbent lace up leather balls had gone by the '70's...they disappeared in the 60's...But you're right, the pitches were often mud lakes...
Loved the football in the 70's/80's. Also loved the commentators, Hugh Johns, John Motson,Brian Moore, Gerald Synstad ? David Coleman. I'm a Man U fan but loved the midland teams Derby, Villa and Forest. That save from Shilton v Coventry!! As Roy Keane would say " he's doing his job" , but today they'd have to stop the game with all the high 5's , back slapping and hugging going on.. Them midlands teams didnt half have some fantastic/ great players!!
Those were the days my friends...Brings back great memories when I was a kid standing in the North Bank. The Doog.
Must be getting old I remember all these players.great upload.
Every one of them a blues legend & hero . Although I didn’t remember Trevor Dark I must admit . Some great players . And some great moments in the video . Thanks for that .
The days Ipswich turned everyone over 💙
6. November 1971
1971
Some great memories there.
Bomber Brown
Peter would have been a member of the England squad for Mexico 70 a talent you can only liken to George best sad loss for wolves who laid his kit out for him on match days hoping one day he would return in the end the reason why wolves bought jim McCalliog from Sheffield wednesday to replace him
Even as a Birmingham fan I remember this Ipswich side really well, really good team, I don’t remember us picking up even a point at Portman rd, and a game at home against us in around 78, they smashed us 3-0 could’ve been 6 😂
Birmingham City always had better players in the 1970s and early 1980s..Villa were second best then 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great memories. Keep right on blues.
Wow! This takes me back... I have been going to Villa Park and away (not as much) since the 60's and still loving it - UTV
thank you Steve, missed some of these being in the navy, but lots of great names thanks for your effort i used to go with my dad and brother 2/6 each up the woodman corner. great memories. godbless you mate respect from a Suffolk baggie in 2024
Thank you. Loved it
I had the pleasure of watching the Reds in the 70s. Apart from the odd moment the early 70s weren't that great but then came BC and the rest is history
Liverpool fan. But 1960/70s team everton were a great side remember all of the players loved watching them to great days 👍
Thanks Steve, Sniffer, what a player he was ,,MOT
I’d love to see him back in our present lineup. 🤭. He was brilliant. I was there for most of those goals.
Brilliant, to honest I'd forgotten about Howard Kendall, and Terry Hibbert, proud to say I seen all of them play for us Tony Want as well. They always gave 100 per cent, and hopefully we're getting back to them days now, where the younger Blues fans will make their own legends , but don't forget, only one man has made this all possible, Tom Wagner, wot a bloke
