The best version of uf asgore is where once he was the same as ut asgore, but after his children died he had a different plan to restart the timeline after getting the 7 souls, he became evil and thought no evil act he will do will matter as he's gonna reset the timeline after getting the souls anyway, so neither did he care about destroying the barrier nor did he care about monsterkind

Like in toriel's fight (in UNDERFELL)she wants to kill you.but as a long as you spare her,she starts realizing everything she did and coming back to her senses. That part of this theme is too "happy", it should not play if he still wants to fight you.

The only reason I’d ever consider sparing UnderFell Asgore (if/ when UnderFell becomes a fully-fledged completed fan-game) is out of serving justice for the rest of monster-kind. Considering the sheer level of cruelty, misery and suffering he’s inflicted onto his own people for god-knows how long, offing him would be merciful in comparison to locking him up for the rest of his life, with only his thoughts keeping him company as he rots away in his cell.
