Rock Hounding Vid #53
Very cold but amazing day out in the woods. Nothing better than a nice walk through the woods with a good friend. Nate and I spent a good 6-7 hours walking this creek last weekend. Found some absolutely gorgeous stones ranging from jasper, agates, and petrified wood amongst other things. as always thanks for watching. Peace & Love.

Got out for a while with my best friend Eric. Kind of slim pickings but still found some amazing chunks of Agate and Jasper. Very wet and rainy day. We spent 6-7 hours hounding. It was a great adventure. Thank you for watching. Peace & Love.

Hard to believe im up to 50 rock hounding videos. Countless hours of adventures, miles walked, and video edited. Kinda bummed about this video because my camera crapped out halfway through the day. Still managed to get a lot of footage. Extremely happy with the carnelian tube I found in this video. As always I can't thank you enough for watching. Peace & Love!
Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!! I just subscribed to your channel!! Greetings from Greece!!
@@GREEKEXPLORERS thank you so much! Appreciate you!
8:49 red and white waterlevel is my favorite stone of the show!
How many pounds of rocks do you typically haul out from the creek on a trip like this? And what do you do with them? Was I correct in seeing that you showed us a beautiful clear amber-colored agate and then threw it back? I am still trying to figure out the location of this hunt. 😜
@@CowgirlDragonSlayer it all depends. My agates usually make the rock garden. I've carried up to 20lbs out which doesn't seem like alot until your 2 miles and many hours up a creek and you have to haul them out lol.
Well well well what do we have here!? Thanks for sharing! Gonna have to bring your daughter on one of these adventures!
@@livinglife4309 definitely will once the weather gets a little better
Oh, how I would live to know where you are hunting.
Where is this. If you don’t mind telling me.

Eric! Was that a bag of mary jane in your pocket sir!? Lol. Happy rocking
Nice rock finds ❤ it
@@janicegelbhaar7352 thank you so much
Beautiful spot! Must be S.W. Washington. You guys are wearing the proper gear for bush hacking and staying warm! Sweet agates. Can’t wait till the rivers receded!
@@Fishmonger36 you and me both!

What state are you guys in? 🤘⛏️
Beautiful agate what state are you in? Do you just collect them or do you make jewelry out of them make Cavion tumble them she show some of that stuff too so we really get to know yet but beautiful rocks love them all. I’m jealous.
@@oliverriggs4535 thank you! I just collect, polish. No jewelry
Will you share where "here" is? Do you find that rivers are a great place to look for agates instead of lakes and ocean beaches? What other kinds of rocks appeal to you that you will pick up and save?
@@CowgirlDragonSlayer i usually will go out and spend a little while scouting. If I find anything that appeals to me ill put on some waders, backpack, lunch, and plenty of water and spend a good 8 hours or sometimes more walking the area and following its tributaries/feeder creeks. If you do that it doesn't matter where you are you're bound to find something that appeals to you. I usually only hound after or during rain. I find that everything pops alot more and I find alot more. The main thing is time though. When I'm out I schedule to be out for the day.
@@CowgirlDragonSlayer my favorites that I mainly search for are agates. Jasper, fossils, And petrified wood. I always keep my eye open for something outside the box. Weird shaped rocks and such. Conglomerates of sorts.
@@dustinlanier2632 I also prefer to find rocks when they are wet. Lately, I have been limited to the shores of the lake I live on in Eastern Washington State. I have an eye for these white translucent rocks, some smooth, some not, however, when I find a smooth one I feel like I have found a rune stone. lol! None of the rocks I have found are as big as the one you found in this video. What a beauty. Congratulations, and thank you for responding.
@@dustinlanier2632 I don't even know what the rocks are that I pick up. 🤣
They say agates protect you from deception.
Agate
@@baskervillebee6097 big one! Lol
Thinking you said 🐖 🐷 🐽 😂😂
Nice potatoes that grow wild is ama*ng
Looks like leaverite
That’s really cool, how can you spot them? They look like all the other stones until you pick it up and wash it off😅
@@Connor12k Took me a while to train my eye. Looking in the rain helps. Really makes them pop.
Some nice....(blank)...?
@@RyShermsInc Agates!
I heard pigs?
@@Curly22016 not the biggest pigs we've found but definitely good sized for our area
hey boys! imma gold prospector, walking rivers and streams, is there good chances of finding crystals in river and streams? :) but havent got the "rock-hound" sickness until for some years ago, still never found one crystal or so, i bet i suck at searching, i know how to find gold, but not some beautiful quartz and other mineral-crystals. any tips for a rock-hound newbie ? :D:D
@@alphahuskyy it Washington yes!
@@alphahuskyy i tell this to everyone interested in hounding. Get a backpack, snacks/lunch, water, i prefer a small rake/walking stick. Spend a solid day out on the creek. Have lunch in the middle of nowhere. Enjoy the adventure. I usually spent a good 7-8 hours walking. You'll be really surprised at what you'll find when you get out to where no one has been.
@@alphahuskyy also i prefer to hound in the rain. When the stones are wet i always find more. Just bundle up. Rain coat. Hip waders. Enjoy the adventure 🤙
@@dustinlanier2632 hell yeah! sounds like real prospecting trip for sure! i live in Norway, so the ice up here has mauled so much rock, so it feels impossible to find anything good 🤣 but imma keep searching ! any type of rocks or places in bedrock or mountains you would recomend ?
@alphahuskyy wait for that big wash. I always head out after a few major days of rain. Especially after the snow melt.
Nice agate finds
