HAPPY LIFE DAY | Star Wars Holiday Special | Thoughts on Star Wars | where is the Life Day Parade?
Life Day - Life Day was a holiday of Wookiee tradition that celebrated family, joy, and harmony-values and tenets of Wookiee culture. Traditionally held at the Tree of Life on the forested Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk, celebrations were held by people across the stars after "The Dark Times" of the Galactic Empire. Making the Wookiee holiday their own, people marked the day with festive décor, lights, feasts, and music, where sentients were reminded of compassion-the promise of the Tree of Life.

I have seen clips of it, but not the whole thing. I like your robe, Derek!
Please add it to the Advent calendar for December. Bea Arthur is my favorite part of it. 😊
Stir whip, stir whip!
Mr. Derek, so where does True Lies sit in his action filmography? Top half or bottom half? 😁
Honeymoon with cryptids?! 😱 I always judged that movie by the cover, The Burbs. I skipped it for I don't know 20 years? Till I found out its a big favorite on UA-cam. Having seen it twice since then it is one of my favorites. My favorite from that era (I haven't seen everything) would be Big. 😁
I love Okja so much, such a great blend of the dark, funny, sad, and happy.
The baseball cap back dad style looks good 😎
Yeah. I can fall in line with that Ranking. True Lies doesn’t do it for me at all.
Not seen any of them ( possibly the Burbs back when it came out. But can’t recall a damn thing )
1) For Your Consideration- love Christopher Guest films 2) The 'Burbs 3) Mothman
Time Bandits it's a strange & weird movie to me. I've tried to watch it over & over but it's still different.
1) True Grit- way better than the 1969 original 2) True Lies 3) Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back
I personally haven’t seen any of these but they all seem great just like your ranking 👌🏻
I need to rewatch Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and also Dogma. Good selection on the directors; Kevin Smith, Coens, and James Cameron. 2. True Lies, yeah I remember you said it’s not one of your favorites, Jamie Lee Curtis in this movie 😅. Thank goodness it’s finally on Blu-Ray, and also The Abyss, to add it to the collection. 1. True Grit, one of my most cherished memories from school was going to the movie theater on field trips, and I think the last film was when True Grit came out, most of my classmates wanted to see Tron: Legacy, and I wanted to see True Grit, but we ended up seeing Yogi Bear, and it took me years until I finally saw it, I also seen the John Wayne original, the one where he won the Oscar, frankly it was a lifetime achievement Oscar.
The King of Comedy is an underrated but prescient masterwork. I've seen Scoop once, but I think that was enough. I haven't seen Secret Life of Bees.
Hey Derek, only seen The King of Comedy, it’s great. I’m glad Joker (2019) exists, because that way casual moviegoers would hopefully watch King of Comedy and Taxi Driver. Oh we need to talk about that Joker sequel someday. Oh boy. I still haven’t seen Scoop, hey just saw your Criterion video, yes Gilliam directed 12 Monkeys, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and you passed by Brazil and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Ramona and Beezus is another movie with Selena Gomez and Joey King 😅. By the way, I just had a thought, you told me a while back that you weren’t a fan of La La Land, and would have been peeved had it won, would it still been in your Best Picture collection had it did?
OMG dude The Happening...I had no idea you'd only ever seen it the once. It is one of my absolute all-time favorites because I think it is one of the most hilarious films ever...intentional or not? The performances and dialogue are like they were done by an alien showing another alien what they think humans would do and say in a crisis. I adore it; hope you find more fun in it the next time you give it a go!
It has to be a tie between Don't Breathe and The Gift. Haven't seen Logan's Run.
@@davidhollingsworth4665 a tie is a good way to go!
I got a simple plan 4k, invasion 4k, sugarland 4k. Getting later born to forth of july 4k
I want to get sugarland!
Oh no he didnt. A Terry Gilliam film. 😮 Ive seen Fisher King and 12 Monkeys. I really like them both. Im surprised youre not a fan of Fisher King. 😂
@@Holland_Oates I’ve always had a tough time with serious Robin Williams films. The drama in Hook works for me, but I think paired with the fantasy element is why it works for me, plus he’s still funny. I do like Fear & Loathing.
I would give it another chance. Unless you saw it very recently. 🙂
Looks like a blast of a Halloween! We had a great one too, Happy belated Halloween!
@@hexyearhexyear glad you had a fun Halloween too! We couldn’t have asked for better weather!
So far, I got The Red Shoes on 4K and Pandora's Box.
I should look into both of those
Getting Time Bandits is a good choice.
@@davidhollingsworth4665 whew!
Both I Walked with a Zombie and The Seventh Victim are classic exercises in atmospheric, subtle horror.
@@davidhollingsworth4665 interesting! I’ll have to look into those more, maybe they’re up my alley!
I'm very slowly crossing off Jim Carrey movies I wish to see. I think I saw Once Bitten and The Truman Show in the last year, year and a half. I think I will have to watch 23 at some point. Everybody needs a little pain in their life. 😂
@@Holland_Oates I haven’t seen once bitten. I watched one called rubber face back in the VHS days. It was so so so bad.
I personally haven’t seen Dawn Of The Dead or Chitty Chitty Bang-Bang but I’ve seen Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 so that’s my first and only one but great ranking as usual, also even though it was a week ago, thanks a lot for subscribing, I really appreciate it man! 😁
@@JEvans2011 sure thing! And I always appreciate your support! I definitely recommend the Dawn of the dead remake if you like zombie movies. It was well done
@ I’ll look into it 👌🏻
ET The Number 23 Alien 3
@@EpictasticJoshuaYT tough to beat a classic Spielberg film!
1) Dawn of the Dead (2004)- This one is the only one that matters to me.
@@davidhollingsworth4665 such a good top choice!
1) E.T. has to be number one. 2) Alien 3- misunderstood 3) Number 23- no comment
@@davidhollingsworth4665 fully agree with the “misunderstood” statement
I haven't seen any of these, but War Dogs sounds interesting.
@@davidhollingsworth4665 it was better than I expected it to be
Yes! I have seen all three of them. 3. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, fun fact, it is based on the book by Ian Fleming who wrote the James Bond novels, and Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, etc) wrote the screenplay, good old Dick Van Dyke is still alive, like you said, and as I’m writing this, he’s going to be 99 years old next month, and yes I remember the guy from the nose. Interesting fact about Danville. 😊 2. Dawn of the Dead, definitely the film that put Snyder on the map, I said that I wished we had Romero’s movies on Blu-Ray in one collection. 1. Guardians 2, I don’t mind that it gets pulled often, although I would love to know your thoughts on the first in detail, you mentioned Mary Poppins, was that intentional? Hehe.
@@angelcastaneda529 I never caught that Ian Fleming wrote the book. That’s cool! We definitely need all the Romero films in a single box set. That would sell so well I believe. Yes I should rewatch the first guardians and give it a full review.
He sure did, Roald Dahl also wrote the screenplay for the 5th James Bond movie, You Only Live Twice. We discussed that I think last time, the box set, I rewatched it last year, and it is really good. I don’t blame you if they’re your favorite, I was surprised my mother loves them too, usually it’s not the Guardians movies we talk about when discussing the MCU.
Derek, good selection on the directors. I haven’t seen The Number 23 yet, but I know Jim Carrey missed out on Disney’s Meet the Robinsons, that’s what I’ve been told anyway, I have to read that again. “Ripley from Alien 3!” Sorry, had to quote Deadpool, yeah what a disappointment compared to the first two films in the franchise, they began to drip from quality, but David Fincher has disowned it, but without it, we wouldn’t have his great filmography. Absolutely, I kind of like Tootsie more than Gandhi and E.T., just because I would have loved to see a comedy win, but had E.T. did, it would have been the best film of the 80s to win Best Picture. I agree with Carol Burnett, it should have been a five way tie. I just rewatched The Terminal for its 20th anniversary, and Spielberg even at not his best, really captures human stories. E.T. is easily the best of the three, sorry David Fincher. 😊.
@@angelcastaneda529 I have to hear more about Jim Carrey being involved in Meet the Robinsons. I’ve never heard that. That would’ve definitely been a better success for him.
Oh it was true. 😆
Certainly agree with your ranking here However. I would put on Alien 3 more than I would ET And I certainly wouldn’t put the new alien film above alien 3
@@ajsmovieplace I can’t remember if I caught your Romulus review or not, I’ll have to go back and check. I really liked it, other than too many winks to the camera with certain quotes.

1. Vamps 2. Water 3. Bones TPS seems a bit forgotten. I want to rewatch that one. Saw Bone Collector this year and I was slightly disappointed. I think it's based on a book. Dusk till Dawn there's the hoorah scene in the back storage that I don't like. Besides that I love it the more I watch.
@@Holland_Oates yeah, when you considered the cast you’d think TPS would be a bigger deal these days.
