Just as AR technology like Pokémon GO enhances our view of reality through our phones, faith offers us an expanded perspective on life. Learn about three essential questions everyone must answer when considering the Bible: Can I trust it? Can I understand it? Can I build my life on it?
Pastor Brian discusses common objections to the Bible's reliability, explains practical ways to start reading Scripture (including the H.E.A.R. method), and shares how taking God at His word can transform one's daily life.
Whether you've been a long-time believer or are just exploring faith, this message provides valuable insights on how to develop a faith-filled life that leads to greater impact and influence.
🎯 Key Points:
- Understanding biblical faith vs. cultural ideas of faith
- Evidence for the Bible's historical reliability
- Practical tips for reading and understanding Scripture
- How to apply biblical principles to daily life
📖 Memory Verse:
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." - 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Join us next Sunday as we continue the series by exploring what it means to be an intentional friend.

      I agree that you won't find any version of "a sinner's prayer" in the Bible, but how is it unbiblical to humble oneself before God, confess their rebellion against Him, accept the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, and commit to obediently follow Him?

      I see what you did there :) God doesn't need money because all the money belongs to Him already. People manage the amounts that He provides. At the same time, when we give some of the money God provides us, a) we demonstrate that we trust in His provision over our own, and b) the mission of the church body can happen.

    I see "Faith" as another form of a cop out. Faith is equivalent to "Manifestation."

    • @HopeCFW
      @HopeCFW Місяць тому

      Faith is not like manifestation, though that is a common misunderstanding. Manifestation is saying or thinking something that doesn't exist into existence. Faith, is trusting in real (but unseen) things to do what God promised would happen. (Hebrews 11:1). In other words, manifestation says I need XYZ to have a better life, so I'll "speak into the universe," and eventually (if I believe hard enough) those things will come to me. Though it is spiritual and not physical, faith is no different than trusting that if you buy a plane ticket to London (which is unseen to you at the moment) is really there and should the flight go safely, you'll arrive at a real London.

  • @raymondpalacios3032
    @raymondpalacios3032 Місяць тому

    If the bible and God are real. When was the last time you witnessed a real-life miracle? A real miracle as where you lost your legs or arms in war and you and the entire church community prayed for you to get your arms or legs back and the next day you woke up with your arms legs? When? Never. But they want you to believe God split the Red Sea to allow 2.2 million Hebrews to walk across before Pharoah caught up to them. And he fed them for forty years and their clothes never wore out during their 40 years?

    • @HopeCFW
      @HopeCFW Місяць тому

      I see what you mean, especially how "miracle" is used today ("expect a miracle every day" as an example). But the truth is they are "miracles" and not "normals." The miracles in the Bible, and likely other legit miracles in the post-Bible-writings era, were under dire circumstances and point to God's glory and not my comfort. Most of the time, when I'm hoping for a miracle, I want to get out of a jam. The thing you might need to consider is... just because you weren't there when it (or things like it) happened, does that mean it didn't happen?

    I’ve been a Christian sense I was six , I believe in Christ with everything that’s in me , so why would he let me get depression at 40 ? And for 10 years not delivered me from it ? I know , my fault , I don’t believe hard enough, haven’t been good enough, haven’t done enough for him

    • @HopeCFW
      @HopeCFW Місяць тому

      I'll be praying for you. That sounds hard. I want to encourage you with this from Jesus: "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand." (John 10:27-29) If you could do enough, be good enough, believe hard enough, then Jesus wouldn't have needed to save. He is able to save us because He was (and is) everything.

      10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.

    • @HopeCFW
      @HopeCFW Місяць тому

      Great clarification! The verse is 1st John 5:18 and says that if you are born again "born of God," you don't have the same compulsion to sin. So, we absolutely need Jesus, otherwise we can't be born again. This also doesn't mean that believers are incapable of acts of sin - there is still a sin nature - but that a lifestyle of habitual sin is being dealt with.

    • @jannaswanson271
      @jannaswanson271 Місяць тому

      @@HopeCFW This is what the church teaches- that we will always walk in sin. It is not what the Scriptures teach. Jesus told us to "be perfect as the Father is perfect" in Matthew 5:48 or... "Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” I Peter 1:13-16 We are to walk as Jesus walked and Jesus did not sin.

    • @HopeCFW
      @HopeCFW Місяць тому

      @@jannaswanson271 I agree with you that Jesus did not sin, but A) How would you explain the Apostle Paul's comment in Romans 7:15-20 and B) What do you call it when a Christ-follower thinks or does something that dishonors God's ways?

    • @jannaswanson271
      @jannaswanson271 Місяць тому

      @@HopeCFW Paul understood sin like we all do. He is not just throwing up his hands though. In I Corinthians 9 he writes, "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way as to take the prize. Everyone who competes in the games trains with strict discipline. They do it for a crown that is perishable, but we do it for a crown that is imperishable. Therefore I do not run aimlessly; I do not fight like I am beating the air. No, I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified." What does he mean by disqualified? Again, we all start out in sin. We fight it and through Christ we overcome sin. Without holiness no one will see the Lord.

    A tithe is a tenth, but it doesn’t have any intrinsic spiritual value. The tenth of the spoils Abraham gave could be interpreted as "top of the heap." It was the first and best Abraham had and he decided to give it. Paul makes it clear that generosity should be cheerful and voluntary (2 Corinthians 9:6-7). We should not allow the Old Covenant law of tithing to become a stumbling block to embracing the New Covenant's behavior of generosity. Some people may start at 1% and work their way from there. The point is breaking the curse of "love of money" through rearranging our priorities on building the Kingdom of God.

    • @HopeCFW
      @HopeCFW 2 місяці тому

      Yes. Even $1 would be a good start if you aren't giving anything. The aim is to have an attitude of generosity, and a tithe (10%) of income is a good goal to counteract our fleshly drift toward short-changing God.

    Jesus was a Messenger of Allah peace be upon him Jesus is a human being. How can a man with a date of birth be God? How can God come down in human form so that would no longer make him God since the definition of God is to be Supreme and no One is compared to and is the King of all kings and none can match. He has been created like you and me have. Created. A created being cannot be The Creator. He will be in shock as to why you called him God or the son of God when instead he is the Messenger of Allah. He was a human who ate, drank, slept and went to the bathroom with which if he didn’t access these needs he would die. Does God need to rely on food and sleep and drink? How can someone say this?. On top of that Christianity also claims for him to be a Jew? How can he be Jewish?How can he be God or the son of God if he did all of that? And he literally came out of a womb so how can he be called the son of God or God? John 20:17 17Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me,* for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, 'I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God. '” JESUS SAYS “MY GOD AND YOUR GOD” Does God now have a God? No, it is as clear as day through the verses of the bible that he is a slave of God, but not God himself Mark 13:32 32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father If Jesus was God surely he should know the hour too which is such an important piece of knowledge that God possesses yet here it states he doesn't. He is the beloved Messenger of Allah may peace be upon Jesus. my friend think about what you’re saying. You’re saying God walked the earth as a man and ate and drank and slept and answered the call of nature? Then on top of that He was Killed by other men in human form? When we look at other humans we always say look how dumb or weak they are, so imagine putting God as the same creation as them. He showed us how to be good through sending messengers. Like Adam, Noah, Joseph, Jonah, Abraham and Jesus. Why would Jesus be an exception? All these other prophets came before Jesus peace be upon him. Were they wrong since they weren’t around during the time of Jesus? Quran verses [5:75] The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded. [5:78] Cursed were those who disbelieved among the Children of Israel by the tongue of David and of Jesus, the son of Mary. That was because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed.

    • @HopeCFW
      @HopeCFW 2 місяці тому

      What a great point to raise! I think we can agree that God is transcendent above humanity (He is nothing like us). "All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made." (John 1:3). Thus, wouldn't be possible that a) God is not limited by man's limits and b) our definitions of His creation are insufficient to encapsulate all that God is capable of? The Gospel of John states that, "And the Word [the Son of God] became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14). And He was prophesied in Isaiah 7:14 that "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." How can a virgin conceive and bear a child? She can't without the transcendent power of God working outside of our understanding of His creation. The name "Immanuel" means "God with us." I encourage you to read Philippians 2:5-11. It also highlights how Jesus was fully God and fully human, why He did it, and the result of Him becoming a human like us. My prayer is that as you continue to seek God that He will continue to reveal His true self to you.
