    Thank you for sharing. Quite hard to listen to such a birth story. Sounds a bit like my learning curve with 6 births, only that your first was much harder. I admire your strength not to ask for a c-section and fighting 5 months to breastfed your baby. Am glad that after all that you've been through God seem to have blessed you with many more healing birth experiences. My first ended up being a totally unexpected and so much disappointing c-section. I never had another epidural (which often leads to an avoidable c-section) even though I wished for it cause I really can't handle pain well. Beside an forced induction with my 2nd I'm thankful to have had only natural birth experiences after that and was always able to breastfeed although not without problems. Yes, the reward is great! Blessings from Germany

      I love this comment so much! Thanks for sharing some of your experiences. My first birth is a hard one for me to tell. I don’t think about it often, but I am grateful for what I learned through it. What you said is so true that epidurals often lead to avoidable c-sections and it’s good for us women to be aware of that and that trying to avoid the discomfort of labor by getting an epidural may actually lead to more pain and hardship. 🙏🏻🙏🏻thank you again. I always appreciate your comments here. ❤️

    This video started a fruitful conversation with my two older children. We talked about how easy it is for a group of young kids to develop a flirtatious culture and how to identify and not contribute to that. My 12 yr old son told me that when a girl is flirtatious it’s actually “masculine, not feminine… As if she’s trying to be the leader of a relationship.” I thought that was really insightful! Thank you for sharing these thoughts.

    Thank you, dear sister! This is such a controversial topic, and this is something I've been discussing with my children. This is definitely something we want to redirect in our children and pray over them about. If you allow them screen time, you will see the horrible things that are being promoted to our babies. The world does encourage child relationships even with older adults and its sickening. This is very harmful to them.

    I agree your intention is really good. But, personally, i think it's misguided. I don't think there's anything wrong with having a crush on someone - especially in your younger years: that's what you were designed to do! - as long as you learn to deal with it appropriately. e.g. try to learn not to obsess; to focus on healthy things despite the feelings; not to pursue the feelings, especially if either is attached to someone else. Children and teenagers should not be in relationships?? I don’t necessarily agree with that. Telling your child they *don't* have a crush?? That's just violating their personhood, imo: telling them how they feel. It's one thing saying you can't have something yet. It's another thing: and unnecessary, imo, to say you're not allowed to desire it yet. Crushing is desiring something you're designed to want.

    • @MayflowerHomeschool
      @MayflowerHomeschool 6 місяців тому

      Totally agree! My 13 year old said she has started to like a boy in her youth group- I reassured her that it’s normal at her age to start looking at the opposite sex in that way. That they should continue to get to know each other as friends and if in their late teen years they are still interested in pursuing each other, they can then start courting. I know plenty of people that are devout believers and followers of Christ who met their now spouses in their teen years and got married at 18, went on to have many children and a successful, healthy marriage. It is not our place to choose who our children end up with… the Lord already knows who He has for them. It is our job to safely guide them to foster healthy relationships in a healthy, safe way. And that person He has chosen for them just might be someone they meet at 16.

    Interesting thoughts and I agree. I actually used to be like that from early childhood, always dreaming of someone. Thankfully it was oy one sided but didn't help. Just thought consuming and getting used to be driven by emotions. I definitely don't want it for our daughters who are approaching teen years. Thankfully it wasn't a thing so far and we talk very openly with them about everything. But there's a big influence in that direction from movies and books. Even books that are for 10 years often contain a love story. Unfortunately here in Germany there's not too many good christian literature for kids and even less good movies. And yes I appreciate this kind of videos and that they're short. Thanks!

    • @aprils-home-made
      @aprils-home-made 6 місяців тому

      Yes, the books and movies definitely encourage these kinds of ideas to children early on and it so important and such a gift that you can speak very openly with your daughters about everything. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me and I appreciate your feedback so much! ❤️🙏🏻

      I’m curious to know why so we can learn from your experience? Also, are you a Christian? I personally am a Christian who had to learn the hard ways in these areas growing up (I’m 31 now and happily married now PTL). I really needed the guidance that this video explains and I didn’t get it from my parents. However, as an OCD struggler I also relate to your comment because one can often feel tremendous guilt simply for being attracted to a person. I think a lot of it is about what to do with that attraction (I.e. learning to control yourself and make wise decisions and put up proper boundaries). There will always be attractive people in the world that you interact with, even at church! My husband and I have boundaries such as: never be alone with the opposite sex; our emails, texts, social media accounts are fair game for our spouse to look at anytime (we share logins and pws); if the opposite sex sends us a message on social media, we immediately notify the other spouse and clue them in while making a game plan together with how to proceed from there; it takes humility and open communication to uphold boundaries and our relationship is richer because of it. But I do think we need to be careful and not associate attraction in and of itself with being a sin. For an OCD struggler like me it loads on massive amounts of guilt and fear of attraction and then I’m caught in an obsessive cycle on the other extreme. So there has to be a lot of open communication and clarifications for children in these areas to help navigate these things rightly in my opinion. I really appreciate this youtube video because I get the heart of where this woman is coming from and do think Godly guidance is necessary in this arena. God bless you all, I hope this helps someone ❤️

    Agreed! After 13 years of marriage we just had a major breakthrough by Gods grace. Just by opening up to me, getting rid of bitterness, forgive me..from one day to another my husband saw me with totally new eyes. He now sees I'm beautiful and precious to him and hard working and he makes me compliments and gives me hugs daily, all of which he never did before. We both used to think he's just not that kind of man. This is a huge miracle and happened after praying 9 months for our marriage (each on his own without knowing) and honestly I didnt even have faith it seeemed so hopeless. God also convicted me of having no grace towards my husband, being very critical and not thankful/ encouraging. There was a lot to talk through by the guiding of the Holy Spirit. Now after 6 kids and me in my 40s (not being a perfect beauty by worlds standards btw) we are deeply in love and committed to never let come anything between us again (which is a daily choice). We know of quite some not happy marriages even among believers but now pray for them and have faith that God can restore their marriages too.

    Love that this shows the rhythms of daily life continue and you’re not having to put everything else on hold to learn a new skill . So important for the child to listen to their body throughout those daily rhythms. What are signs you look for to know you/your child are ready to potty train?

    • @aprils-home-made
      @aprils-home-made 8 місяців тому

      Typically, around 2 years old (21-26 months old). That’s an estimate. It often depends more on you and when you are ready to train them. One of the main signs I look for is actually when they start misbehaving more, it shows their need to become more responsible and mature and potty training gives them that. Potty training matures them and gives them something to accomplish. Thanks so much for your comment! 😊😊

    Really beautiful, peaceful thoughts here. Love hearing all the ways you honor the Lord on Sundays. Also, “I like to keep the baby on my schedule, whatever that is.” What a radical idea but also most common in most times and places. Thank you for showing how this works!

    April - 1. That baby is fascinating. 2. Incredible how the Holy Spirit works and how our Savior reminds us to rest in Him. We've been doing Sabbath since August(ish). Saturdays, by sunset - we unplug light candles and read a psalm. On Sundays - we've been meeting with a group of believers after church - bring your own lunch and be a community. It has been a Spirit-filled experience. My point is that I am hearing the Sabbath more these days and how believers are incorporating this in their lives; all different, all children of God. Love you!!

    Your vlogs are so inspirational! I look forward to watching every Friday ☺️ I'm very thankful that my mother took me to church growing up. She is elderly and I'm disabled now but my 19 and 23 year old sons take all of us. So very grateful that God blessed me with wonderful sons that do so much for me.
