The Boeing B-52D Stratofortress * The Pima Air & Space Museum
Переглядів 2,3 тис.9 років тому
The B-52D was a dedicated long-range bomber without a reconnaissance option. The Big Belly modifications allowed the B-52D to carry heavy loads of conventional bombs for carpet bombing over Vietnam, while the Rivet Rambler modification added the Phase V ECM systems, which was better than the systems used on most later B-52s. Because of these upgrades and its long range capabilities, the D model...

The Collings Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of the world’s only dual control P-51C Mustang to our WWII aircraft collection. The P-51 is arguably the greatest fighter aircraft ever produced, certainly the most recognizable and legendary of the Second World War. Today there are less than five of the early B/C models left flying. The "C" model is easily recognizable by it's “razorb...

Lady in waiting?🤔 Jman
Wow! What a neat bunch of H-19s.
I was a flight engineer on the hu16b usaf 31st aars in the Philippines Vietnam 1965 1967 made a open sea rescue of a navy pilot near North Vietnam
Wonder where the plane is now in 2024
Si señor La Hispano Aviación ,con su fábrica en el barrio de Triana ,calle San Jacinto, Sevilla ,España
Que decoración más fea,no le pega al Saeta ni con pegamento
Puro amor a todos de jesu cristo y a Orlys coca
😀👍
Why no water take-off or landings? That is what it was designed for, correct?
It is designed for water or land, clearly.
My goodness, what a vertical stabilizer! It's like a 3rd wing.
121 later crashed fighting a fire killing all onboard
That was 123 or 125. 121 is now owned by a company in Phoenix.
I really just wanted to see the rotation, did it get edited out by mistake?
Nice Saeta ! Notice you are training pilots to fly it. I currently have your same 1964 model Hispana HA 200 for sale in New York it is in great shape and have lots of parts available for it. Please reply if you are interested it, would be great to show it to you. Joel
I flew from Loring AFB to Goose Bay in November of 1968 in one of these planes. Loved it
Exciting aircraft, resembles a B-24 but this one has its own operating area. Thanks for sharing
I've was there some time in the mid 1990s. The Connies were in the same place, but, not so much cannibalised as they are now.
Посмотри назад,у тебя на хвосте Покрышкин.!
Жаль, что у нас самолётов тех лет не производят
Nice.
When it quits flying it needs to go to Pensacola's museum or get preserved somewhere else indoors.
Precioso, desconocía este bonito modelo !!
Avion de légende
Original BMW or Wright R-2600 or P&W R-2800?
+ naughtmoses Russian/Chinese ASh-82 radial. A couple of these replicas are flying with the R-2800.
I have flown airplanes that was not a crosswind take off
Cool. I was there at night in 1997 when the Hale-Bopp comet was at its brightest.

Moby? Really?
Awesome old aircraft
I have always liked the looks of these Consolidated PB4Y-2’s.
Had to give a dislike because of the missing part of the takeoff run.
I remember seeing hu16 at Eglin AFB in the 1960s with the exact paint scheme. They were used there for drone recovering and air sea rescue.
Good evening from St John Parish, Louisiana 05 Nov 20.
Looks like a b 24
Very cool but too short a video.
Good to see you old friend. Don’t tear up my airplane please. It’s good to see her again. Thank you!
Thanks for the glimpse of this man/woman eating tiger. As the second airplane an aspiring Naval Aviator, was to fly, it was awesome just to look at it, alone fly the beast. It would do powered on hammer head stalls with a vicious break at the end. It opened my normally closed canopy on one occasion. At very high speed, the controls would become very stiff, so one learned to fly with the trim tabs in that envelope. For private ownership, it helps to own an oil company or two. Eighty gallons per hour fuel consumption is typical at aggressive short missions. They performed their missions well in Viet Nam and other ordinance required locations. Kinda like a smaller Spad (A1 Skyraider). Fly Navy......................
Thanks For Sharing This Video, It's One Of My Favorite Planes. But Especially Thanks For Not Screwing The Pooch With Annoying Music Or Jibber Jabber Whether It's Human Or Computer Generated. I Think That's The First Time I Got To See The Landing Gear Retract . . .
Fun Fact: if a radial engine aircraft sits overnight, the engine oil settles to the bottom cylinders, so if you were to start the engine, you'll end up with a hydrostatic lock and also probably bend a connecting rod. So to clear the engine of that oil, the engine has to be manually turned over by pushing the prop around several times forcing the oil into the exhaust that's why you see all that smoke when a radio engine starts.
Radials also burn more oil than horizontally opposed or Vee engines as well. Don't know why.
I agree. However, how do you push nine blade rotations when the props are that high. Especially on something like a PBY? I'm guessing you electrically turn over the engine using the starter without having the power switch to allow it to start in the on position. I don't know how to fly anything like that. But, that's my best guess.
@@Pichouette if the propeller is too high to reach, use a lift. Also bad idea to used the starter motor to clear the oil. You’ll again bend a rod
Pretty sure it's easier to let the starter motor do that work with ignition turned off
Do we still have these active?
IS the one that fell a part putting out fires???
No, the plane that had the spar failure was #123.
Denied the actual takeoff by the video editor. Not good. :-(
This video was a jip! - I was waiting for the full takeoff roll . & whoever edited this went full moron & cut out the best bit! .. i wanted to see the outsized blister window on the side again .... Robbed!!!
It really was a disappointment not seeing the rotation. When I saw that rudder I figured it would be a struggle. But it looks like the pilot did fine. I use it too, it's such a part of the language, but "gyp" - look it up. It's a slur. Tens of thousands of gypsies died in Nazi concentration camps. Gypping squares isn't cool but doesn't warrant a death sentence. #withapology "gypping" passed the spell-check test, interesting.
Well that was good for the planet! Video was dull, a man putting bags aboard. Wow. And then missed the takeoff. Amateurs.
Good looking goat
Those pilots knew what they were doing and not a single bobble. Great take off. Love the orange and white livery. PB4Ys are cool aircraft.
wow ! what a tail !
i just learned how important it is to have 4 or 5 cameras on the subject. but, a Brilliant plane, absolutely Stunning!! Arizona to ,right??
Don't know the plane but from the start of the power up it looks like it has a castering nose wheel and the wind on the tail was getting the best of it. He probably used power on the left engines and brake to get her straightened out. Nice job!!
Ummm, you left out the take off. It must have been borderline "not safe ". Hide the evidence.
