On May 24, 2023, we partnered with the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia (AACCGP) to host AAPI Heritage Month Celebration at the Shofuso.
We were honored to have Daniel Matsukawa, the principal bassoonist of The Philadelphia Orchestra, enrich our event with his amazing performance. Joining him on stage was the remarkable violinist Isabella Egawa (Juilliard MM '24).
Not only is Maestro Matsukawa a world-renowned bassoonist, but he is also an acclaimed composer who masterfully transcribed four iconic Japanese songs, creating a truly unique and captivating combination of violin and bassoon.
