Walking through Singapore’s history | Fort Canning Park Singapore
Fort Canning Park is not just any other park, it has a character. It has really changed my perspective about Singapore. Singapore is not just a modern city state with tall buildings but also has a rich history. Fort Canning is where Singapore's rulers reigned. The fate of Singapore was decided from here. I will highly recommend people to visit this place, specially the history buffs. Also it's a pleasant experience to stroll through the park's lush greenery.

My impression of Lakawon is that the business running the island is very good at getting money out of you. The farther cottages are gross and the wifi does not reach. Everything is pricey. They make you pay to get on the floating bar. The smart people just do a day trip and they bring all their food and drinks. It's as exotic as they advertise. The wifi is offered with a script with the password. It's weak and does not cover the whole area. I had to keep going back for more scripts since we where there for 3 days.

@@sharmsph I understand. Those Chinese arch I guess is the city appreciation of the Chinese contributions to the city. They've been there even before the coloneal time. Maybe the same in the other islands. Many of the businesses there are owned by Chinese. Some maybe became Filipino citizens. Iloilo was the last strong hold of the Spanish regime. They transferred the capital from Manila to Iloilo. Many Mestizos lived there in Jaro. Pope John Paul came to the city 2x. Some churches were built in the 15th century. I would it was developed ahead of the other islands even before the coloneal times. Dinagyang Festival/Ati Atihan Festival is the celebration of the contact between the Malay and the Black/Negrito ancestors. They're still there by the mountains and has missionaries take care of them. Thanks and enjoy visiting the Philippines.

Iloilo has many Spanish heritage sites, but it has also more American heritage sites than Bacolod - it has the American era PhilAm compound; it has the American Cemetery; many of the streets in Jaro are named after American presidents -Washington; Smith; Commission Civil (American Civil Commission); Cooper(?); Forbes Bridge; Carpenter Bridge; Hodges Estates; General Hughes Street; Central Philippine University (CPU); Jaro Evangelical Church (the first evangelical church in the Philippines): Iloilo Mission Hospital (the first American mission hospital in the Philippines); Mission Road (in Jaro): Baptist Center Church (the oldest Baptist church); Santa Barbara Golf and Country Club (built by American engineers in the 1900s. The oldest golf course in Asia). So what American heck in Bacolod are you bluffing about?
