Any thoughts on purchasing a 2016 Ford F-150 SuperCab, engine 5.0 L V8, 37,000 miles, with service records, which appears to a decent deal?
@@showtime4956 the 5.0 is a great engine and those are some low miles! I’d go for it if it’s a good deal for sure!
Thank you for your clear details on the differences on the 2016 to 2020 Shelby GT 350’s
@@nesjavech you’re very welcome! Thank you for watching!

@@gdbunn it’s in the video description but it looks like that specific one isn’t available anymore. Here is the OEM one that should also work: a.co/d/4VDmX16
A local dealer has a 17 GT350 with 40k miles for $52. I just missed out on a Mach1 with 500miles. Oh the decisions.
As someone who had a 1996 200SX SER 5 Speed and put 416,000 miles on it it had two major issues. It ate axles and had a total of seven replacements and it ate alternators which ended up eventually destroying other electrical equipment in the engine. The issue and the way to solve it is actually so simple. One extra ground wire on the alternator and one extra ground wire on the starter and these problems disappear. Now you might be saying to yourself it couldn't have been that simple but all of the problems I had electrically occurred within the first 150,000 mi. Three alternators and two starters and when I say 416,000 mi these were pizza delivery miles. A lot of hard driving to say the least. I was working my way through college with this car and when it failed numerous times for various electrical issues money was so tight. The axle issues were because I drove it like a demon and so I caused the axle issues. The electrical issues though were mysterious and several local electrical shops failed to solve the issues so I kept having to pay labor since the parts always died before the warranty ended. Nobody could figure out what was wrong with this car but everybody agreed with me that it was a great car. I absolutely loved driving it and owned it 15 years. How did we figure out this simple solution? Well like a lot of dumb kids I wanted a thumping stereo system and if you've ever seen the trunk of one of these cars there is plenty of room to put big speakers back there. So I purchased an amp and a speaker box with two 12-in speakers and a local shop wired everything up. Usually I would do things like this myself but because of the electrical issues I paid professionals to do this job. They were worried about the alternator being able to handle the system and while testing everything at full power one of the techs experienced an electrical shock while getting out of the vehicle. It didn't hurt him but they installed extra ground wires throughout the electrical system. Suddenly not only was this car not shocking people but it ran better in every way. Also to note the triple prong spark plugs are a must for this engine. For the next 250,000 plus miles I didn't have to replace anything except for the brakes and the axles that I was damaging with my driving style. Literally drilling a couple of bolts into the frame and running ground wires is the solution, the permanent solution and about 5 years later what did I find on a forum? Someone saying the exact same thing I'm saying now. The car is not grounded well enough. I wish I would have discovered your channel sooner so I could have saved you some money. Best car I ever owned
Awesome story! 416k miles is a ton! Man yeah an extra couple grounds probably would’ve helped haha. I sold the car again soon after replacing the starter so I’m not sure if it continued having issues or not but it was just a cool and fun car.
@@ProjectCarMedia One more thing about the car as my car was still running when I had to let it go. The 2.0 engine is so well loved in the modding and too fast too furious crowd that anytime you find a wrecked one that still has an intact engine You need to buy it as that engine is worth more than the vehicle. They drop it into Lancers and other cars It will fit into. Also the running ones are one of the best cars for drifting ever made. I didn't sell the car intact. They wanted to offer me scrap prices and I knew the engine was worth more so I yanked it put it on eBay and then got the scrap money for the frame. Much more lucrative that way if you find one with really high miles.
I’m looking for a gt350r now. Seems the advice is to do 2017 or 2018 at least but if you can afford it, do the 2019 or later?

sorry i thought it was blue but i was at Ft Lewis when i haveit
I agree that Nissan lost their way. These old Nissans were awesome. Ft. Lewis isn’t too far from me just a couple hours that’s cool.
Great informative video. I'm definitely going for a 2019 Thanks
Thank you! Glad we got another GT350 owner on the way! 👏🏻
lol this video came out with only limited amount of mileage on 2019's. 3 years later, same amount of failures. Low tension rings are the main issue causing oil consumption. Driver ignorance is what caused engines to fail. The changes made to the cars produced very minimal if any changes to driveability, speed, or reliability. The R version has minor tweeks and $15k wheels. Other than that, same car.
The changes mean almost nothing. It's the same motor. They don't blow up without negligence. Only thing to worry about is never buy one from a "influencer" type of person. Make sure you buy from an adult.
The only reason gen1 motors consume oil is due to low tension rings. You MUST use oil separators on these cars.
In your opinion do you feel that the 2020 GT350 is as significant as your 2019 reguarding all the details specifics you were referring to? Thanks.
Yep I do. There were only minor changes between the 2019 and 2020. Thanks for watching!
@@ProjectCarMedia thank you.

Hey man I have a 98 209sx SE. do you know where I can get a replacement for the driver side rear body panel?
I haven’t seen or heard of anything aftermarket so your best chance is going to be a donor car from the junkyard. Sorry!
Wobble could be uneven brake material transfer or smearing of hot pad material causing judder. Have this problem with my Audi from pads that aren’t meant to take track heat.
You’re very right! Thank you for watching!

I’ve updated my sync 3 to 3.0 and changed out the usb drive to two different ones and I can not get it to work I’ve tried so have and watched videos and I can’t seem to figure it out I’m at the point of giving up
Did you get the one from Ford or aftermarket? Saw a video where you need to get it from Ford. Haven’t done my yet.
One from ford place and one off Amazon no luck
Oh dang. Well I’m picking up one today from Ford. Hope that it works. I guess if not it just is what it is.
Yeah I’ve gave up at this point
That is very odd. I found this Escape forum where they had the same issue. Maybe it can help? www.fordescape.org/threads/carplay-not-working-after-updating-synch-to-3-0-and-upgrading-usb-hub.119206/
Your wife wants to sell it doesn't she... You didn't mention what the new projects are.
Haha nope… well yes she did but I had to fund new projects too!
Rare underrated future collectible.
Agreed!
Great series. I have a B14 but only with the SE. I have been looking for an SE-R. I can't believe they sell for that cheap. And yes, mine does the same thing. Fix one thing only to find something else is now causing issues. I do love driving it. Thankfully, parts are super available in California especially for the GA16DE engines. I would love to get an SR20DE.
You should definitely get a SE-R! It’s quite the upgrade from the GA16DE. Mine was that cheap but I made up for that with all the parts I bought for it lol. Thanks for watching!
Regarding the rails flexing/bowing upwards- does this only occur when you’re placing the jack directly in the middle ? Say you placed it more on the edges, does the flex still occur?
Yep it would only flex if you used the middle of the rail. It doesn’t flex nearly as much towards the ends. Thanks for watching!
I know this is over a year ago but I just now watched the video. I own a 97 Nissan 200SX. Had the car for 3 years and put about 50,000 miles on the little dude. The car ran great for a long time. I drive it every day and I live in Phoenix (Brutal weather) Arizona. It gets hot out here. We have had 120 degrees here since the start of summer. Finally it is cooling down. All that heat tortured my car. Using the AC all the time and I was driving back and forth to work in rush hour traffic. The stop and go traffic along with the heat wore my clutch down. A year went by and finally the throw out bearing kicked the bucket while in traffic and I'll tell you, that is no fun. I had to run slow and keep it in second or third. I made it home but it was smelling like burnt brakes all the way home. Other then that, the car is great. I know the car is not worth much. It had a quarter panel replaced long ago and whoever did it I don't think they had much experience in body work. That alone brings the value down. Also the paint is a clear coat that is coming off in layers. It needs paint but with a poorly mounted quarter panel it is not worth painting. It's just a great driving little car with 85,000 miles on it. It was a low mileage car when I bought it. I paid only 400 dollars because in addition to the fixed quarter panel, the drivers side has damage from the woman that owned it before me. The whole panel from the door to the gas door has damage. I think she got stuck in between some parking poles and just kept going. That was the reason I got this so cheap. It sat for years and practically had a tree growing in it. Sunroof was open a little and it sat under a tree. It took a lot of cleaning to get it drive-able. It's not too bad and it drives great so I will use it till it dies which I doubt that is any time soon.
That is a cool story of a B14 survivor! Thanks for sharing! And I agree these cars are great.
The connoisseur says the 91 SER was best. I’ve also owned the 96. If you gave me either option, both the same value, I’d take the 96!
Well I mean if I had a choice I’d probably go with the 91 just for the independent rear suspension that’s much better than the beam suspension in the B14 but it is still a great car!
I just wanted to share my history. Especially with likeminded individuals. I’ve owned a 91 SR20de, and a 96. I donated the latter at 286,000 miles.
286k miles? That’s just getting broken in! Very cool.
I don't think they like sitting for very long. But that's every car I guess. Had to change the starter and shortly after the alternator on my SE during Covid when they sat for ever. Reasonably easy to change out as the 1600cc version has more engine bay room. Changing the clutch currently but I'm in unchartered territory so slow going for now. lol. Will probably go over the belt, water pump, ac while I'm down there. Dread doing that at some point with the SE-R.
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. Sitting too long in bad weather. And yes doing that maintenance on the SE-R will be a pain but worth it!
If I had to do rear window tint I swear I'd pop the window out to do it. lol. Now if I could just find regulators for the passenger windows on my two 200SX's. Can only find regulators for four door Sentras - and they'll be listed as fitting the 200 too. smh. I did bookmark one a couple of years ago at a Canadian dealer that I should look up again. And finally I used a spray from Autozone with grocery bags 20 years ago on a RWD 200SX hatch I once had to remove tint from the rear quarter windows. Worked pretty well.
If I knew how to pop a rear window out I definitely would’ve done that lol. I’m surprised the window regulators aren’t more common that’s weird!
I have a '96. Autotragic unfortunately. And a '97 SE with stick. Both could use a little love. Sport Compact Car magazine modded both engines way back in the day.
You’ve got two? That’s awesome!
I always said that Mustangs have more in common with McClaren than any other car ever. In the 90s McClaren had a foxbody convertible. These gt350s are supercars!! Sleeved 5.2 voodoo 😮
Agreed! They definitely are!
