Nice. Next year I need to come to a couple of these with you. Of course that is if you don’t mind.
@@countryboy360 100% brother…I love salmon fishing!
@ Me too. I just don’t get to do it much in the kayak. I did lots of salmon from my boat this year but it’s just not the same.
Badass!
Your garden is a testament to your hard work and dedication. 💪
Right on TJ 🤘 double up ✌️
How u do that how you do that 😂
Weak sauce breaking a rod but it's no wonder it happens more from kayaks i would think .....
Lead hit the rod. U can hear it. Happened to me once
@@weedhopper only rod I’ve ever broken…saw fish was barely hooked, so I tried to horse it in before it came off #barblesshooks 😜 100% my fault but at least I got the fish! 😅 Time to upgrade the old SST to a new GSC
@weedhopper he deserved a new rod anyway 🤪 that's what I tell myself haha
Awe man dang it 🤣 so close 🤙
That was how my Jack was on Saturday, flipping and jumping all over the place. Still amazed that I got it into the net..
How you do that? 🤪
Nice fish. What speed/Depth?
50' of line out with 2oz lead, brads dodger and Shadow of Death Custom Jigs pink trolling fly with plain shoepeg corn traveling 1.2 to 1.7 mph.
Wow 👍👍💯 beautiful place ❤️❤️
Akshen!
Congratulations on retirement!
Very cool!
What rod and reel are you using? Thanks!
It’s an Okuma SST 902MH with an Okuma Coldwater reel and 40# braid. Thanks for asking!
@@Tjmcna thanks!!! I've been looking at the cold water reel.
@@FamilyNick I have a bunch of them on various setups and love them! I rolled my kayak in the surf at hobuck and got saltwater water in the reel causing the drag to stop working. Okuma fixed it no questions asked, hence the reason I’ve bought so many.
Can this be accomplished with a paddle kayak?
Sure can, but when you stop paddling to fight the fish, you need to ensure you keep constant pressure on the fish or it will come off, especially with barbless hooks. One of the best fisherman I know uses a paddle kayak for everything from salmon to halibut.
@@Tjmcna thanks
Wow, how u do that? 😝 nice take down video
Wow, how u do that? 🤪
awesome
Where did you launch from or what part of the sound are you in..?
Out by Dash state park in MA11
Looks great. I'd love to get a kayak for fishing this year!
Awesome video. I want to try fishing in a kayak. Whats one like that worth??
They range in price, but mine is a 2019 Hobie Outback. They average about 3200 dollars, but they can be had for less on the used market. There are also options at similar prices from other brands. I prefer the pedal kayaks, so that amounts for a huge portion of the price.
