I'll clarify my comment. I dont find this style of music to have the same spirit as what I consider metal to be. To me, this music seems very watered down. In a way, I would say that it is pop.

I love Amorphis but this is different and as Good !!! Love Barren Earth!!!

that´s Kasper Martenson, former Keyboarder of Amorphis. Same with the Bass Player Olli-Pekka Laine :) They are all from popular bands: Opeth, Moonsorrow, Swallow the Sun, Amorphis and Kreator

Yeah, all in all you are right. But you will find this everywhere. And when someone writes something down like "That´s like Amorphis", then it´s normally meant as a sign of quality the band has. And it is probably the intention of Barren Earth to play the old sound of the bands the members have been in. I´ve seen the live DVD of Amorphis and Laine said there that "Elegy" is his fav album, so I mean it´s normal for him he wants to do a album like this again. And he will be proud of such comments.

I didn't say they weren't similar or that is bad to sound like "one of the ever existing". I'm just sick of the comments on how they resemble Amorphis. They do, so what? I LOVE Amorphis, don't get me wrong, but imo it doesn't make much sense talking about other bands on one bands video. That's all I wanted to say.

sorry, but the similarities are very obvious. And, it is not bad for a band to sound like one of the ever existing :D And, btw, of course this is fantastic music. But you have to admit, the song is very close to "Weeper on the Shore"^^

This is NOT (old) Amorphis! There is a similarity though, but this is Barren Earth. Let's talk about their own awesomeness, not about their similarity to other bands.

hehe it is not metal ? metal is something from the 80s. Since then metal has developed into brilliant stuff like Barren Earth. Awesome song.

This is like 70's Prog-Rock mixed with Folk and little pinch Death ( the growling basically) . Probably one of the best recipes ever : )

@Unholygodhater Calling someone a troll to devalue their opinion? Sounds legit. I consider the forefathers of metal whenever confronting the more "modern" styled metal. I simply do not consider this music to carry the same spirit whatsoever. I would like to make clear, though, I am not intending to insult this band or this song. If you like it, that's great. To call it metal... I find this insulting.
