Ep. 7 Our Reptilian Brain
The fear inside of us is one with that of the fear of colts of buffaloes and chicks of hawks. We are being led by our past terrors.

Moriarty explains how a river can call itself back into the eternity out of which it came, and leads us into a time that is older than the time of chronometers. Meet John's mother, a sovereignty goddess, with her womb of turf and eggs, and his father, king of the byre, haggard, and pig sty, basking in the low light of his lantern hanging from a nail in the rafter. Ep. 4 In Praise of Crookedness
Переглядів 34014 днів тому
We're back with the great Swami Moriarty - Ireland’s Ram Dass, our very own Terence McKenna. Wondering what Yeats would have made of him. Would he have thought he had stumbled upon an actual druid? Had him plucked, stuffed and mounted in the National Museum? So many big questions in such a short space of time, such as are there bulbs of emerald green consciousness within us? And what to do with...
Ep 1. Hailstones in your Face
Переглядів 43328 днів тому
'All ground is holy ground,' says the great John Moriarty, the great Kerryman who was half-carnival huckster, half bottle-eyed druid, with a little bit of narcissistic Catholic bishop thrown in. Listen up as he tells us to 'come home to earth' and to 'enfranchise the universe'. Where else would you get it? Ep 2. The Dumbledore of Irish deep-thinking on Commonage Consciousness
Переглядів 28328 днів тому
Moriarty, the Dumbledore of Irish deep thinking, connects an Inuit hunting ritual to the Christian mass and from there bounces off to a memory of cattle being loaded near Galway train station. He addresses the notion of sinning against a blade of grass and the risks of living from the mathematical forefront of our brains Support the show (www.paypal.me/ManchanMagan) lilliputpress.ie/author_post...
The Space in Between - Clare Sands and Manchán Magan

The musician Susan O'Neill came up with the most gorgeous idea during Covid. She paired up artists of different disciplines and asked them to stare into each others eyes for at least 5 minutes before collaborating on a piece of work (ideally without having practised it before). The result was a wonderful series of encounters documented as The Space Between on TG4TV She invited me and Clare Sand...

Aboriginal Australia is a culture based on relationships. I was welcomed by the artistic community in Balgo because a few respected elders vouched for me and also because I was a fellow-countryman of the great Sr Alice Dempsey, a Saint John of God nun who had been incredibly supportive in keeping aspects of the cultural tradition of the peoples of the Great Sandy Desert and the Tanami Desert al...

Have followed your work for years: what a treat for this to pop up on my feed! Wishing you all the best 🙏
For me, John's words are not only listened to, but your spirit becomes a raft floating upon them.
‘It might be that the fairy stories of the world bring us nearer to the world, maybe, than Newton’s laws of gravity or than E=mc2.’ Amen.
Very excited about this.
Wow, perhaps even a hint of Bukowski.
Maggie Hambling has let herself go.
Absolutely gripping. Beautiful work. Highlighting how humans and their languages have all been inspired by each other, by picking up bits and pieces as we interact brings to attention the fact that we’re one species. We’ve an awful lot more similar to each other than we are different. Is teachtaireacht riachtanach agus ábhartach é.
Cineál dúchasach is also called self heal

Ancient Han Chinese (Sinotibetan) were true Anchestor of Kazakhs. In history that still able tracked by kingdom official record there are story of finding of Kazakh existence by Han, it makes like Han and Kazakh look like not known before each other. But by natural genetic record, before known kingdom, ancient han spread to western region accross central asia to caucassuss, so all those also considered Chinese in ethnicities. Their Anchestor is ancient Han Chinese (Sinotibetan) from China. Han and Kazakh were same people, and still be family today.
Iontach ar fad 😊
26 words. But they are inspiring people to learn an teanga 🎉
Go deas!
I used neem oil for ringworm once. It was very effective. I didn't know i could use nettles. Thank you!

Ní féidir liom lorg gach cláru sraith. Bfheider bhfuil ná siad ar an idirlíon níos mó.
Manchán - can you do us all a favour & mark this video as being in Irish? The auto-translated subtitles are working on the wrong assumption that you're speaking English, so it just puts a load of nonsense based on the phonetics of what you're saying, trying to put English words up that vaguely match the sounds of your Irish. I love your series - I watched season 1 on another page here where we could get the subtitles right.
I like what you're doing here Manchan, illustrates the lineage of rebellious irish music, OG Hip-hoppers singing songs of moonshine and dodging the redcoats.
go h-iontach! maith sibh lads
Tá an crossover seo gan choinne ach rófháilte.
Great show tonight in the Honey Fitz, thank you.
Tá seo ar doigh 😂
Wish i could speak Irish, i find it very very hard.
You definitely can! Keep going!

Sea, mo bhuíochas, a Bhrian. Braithim amaideach gur dheineas an botún sin.
Thank you very much, you made a wonderful film about Kazakhs in China. but now the Chinese are forcing them to change their language and religion. Since 2017, they have been imprisoned in camps, forced to learn Chinese from the age of 5 to 80, and destroy their language. I am Kazakh, now I live in London, if you are in London, I would like to meet you, is it possible?
I am haunted by the thought of what has happened to so many of the wonderful people we met in Xinjiang. We were welcomed so wonderfuly by Kazakh and Uigher families and individuals. I'm based in Ireland. My email is at www.manchan.com

Iontach! A brave recital of a generation's verses.
Iontach! Grá seo
I love bread in most of its forms and actually feel a bit down or not myself if I don’t have it for a few days. However almost all health advice these days seems to advocate avoiding all forms of bread. To me this is crazy. How can something so natural, so interconnected with the human condition be considered bad for you. And especially if made from scratch with little or no additives. I understand it’s linked to insulin spikes but I’m not sure a life without our daily bread is a life worth living! Thank you for the upload. I would appreciate if you would add Irish subtitles functionality to this and other videos so we can look up the meaning of words. The auto-generated subtitles are useless as you’d expect.
Are there any plans to tour the U.K., more specifically County Manchester, County Liverpool, or County Glasgow?
Brilliant :)
I had no idea blackberry’s were an antibiotic! Thank you!
They gave a interview very kind.
Tumiharit kanu ivatan
And here I was, never imagining that these two very niche and specific worlds would meet. I literally just happen to be super interested in both languages.
Gaeilge Ghaoth Dobhair! Tá sé galanta é a chloisteal. Maith thú chun scéalta agus "recipes" seo a shamhail dúinn Manchan 👍
Míle buíochas, Matthew as cineáltas do chuid fhocla.
well, it would seem to outsiders that some kind of English guy is speaking an incomprehensible language ... I hope when I am in my seventies or eighties I will not face the same faith when speaking the language of my country
