Canada opens up Immigration to anyone
Communist dictator Marc Miller [Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada] now says if you're a Canadian immigrant and have children outside of Canada well they are now Canadians. If that wasn't bad enough his more recent program, "Will give foreign caregivers permanent residence on arrival in Canada" - www.thestar.com/politics/federal/trudeau-government-will-give-foreign-caregivers-permanent-residence-on-arrival-in-canada/article_e266c8f4-21c8-11ef-b549-37c2dc1df314.html

    The original BSG went through major changes. If you ever read the novelization, there were only 6 Battlestars in the fleet and were described as enormous vessels. The Atlantia was described as a show ship, with paneling and such. The pilot movie left out so much backstory that they tried to fill in over the series, however ABC wanted a "planet of the week" show, as someone from the production said. The humans looked like a bunch of gullible pacifists, even though they had been at war for a 1000 years. As the backstory got filled in, and you really had to pay attention to gather the nuggets, you realized that the humans had been given a treaty which got them many of their war aims, so they were desperate to see it through and this blinded most (not Adama). In the 2 parter, the living legend, you find that the battle of Molacay was a disaster for the colonies. This put the colonies at a severe disadvantage and it was only a matter of time until the capitulated to the cylons, so the cylons decided when they met Baltar that he would sell his people out and they could use this to instead of having the human colonies around who had to now let them do as they wanted outside of the 12 colonies systems, but still be a possible threat in the future, they could destroy them once and for all.

    In the beginning of this video, what was taking place was a re-shoot for the BG TV Movie Pilot for the series. In the original 1978 theatrical version, Baltar was coldly executed by a Cylon Centurian at the command of The Imperious Leader. The reason? The Cylon emperor felt that if Baltar turned his own race of humans over to the Cylon empire for destruction, then what's to say the Baltar may try to destroy the Cylons in the future after having a change of heart? Before giving the execution order, The Imperious Leader explained to Baltar: "So long as one human remains alive, the Alliance is threatened. We thank you for your help Baltar. Your time is at an end." Baltar was then beheaded.

    • @deathstrike
      @deathstrike 2 роки тому

      And Baltar sorely deserved it! But ,I have to say though, if it had not been for Baltar's meddling, it could have ended much worse. And while he was clearly a traitor, he at least bought some time for the humans left. While Adama was nearly on his knees in tears at something he recalled happening on Caprica. He saw a woman with a child begging for help. She was pushed and shoved, he didn't know what happened to her. But his pain was evident. Between the treason of Baltar, and Adama losing his son I think it was Zac. Baltar in his stupidity actually might have given Adama precious time to assemble a fleet and leave. I would have hoped though, Baltar would have met his end not at the hands of Imperious Leader, but at the hands of Adama strangling every bit of life out of him.

    • @deathstrike
      @deathstrike 2 роки тому

      Edit: Baltar's grave should have been the lifeless desert of what was left of Kobol. (In this version, not the 2004 version.)

    I always found it strange that in the original attack on the fleet, no other Battlestar launched fighters? they were not monitoring communications or scanning radar , this should be standard practices in any fleet, in Peace time or at War.

    • @1971tallica
      @1971tallica 4 роки тому

      they did launch but after the attack started and many were destroyed as they launched. In the movie they say 67 fighters returned including 25 from the Galactica.

    • @1971tallica
      @1971tallica 4 роки тому

      @Alysandir Baltar set it up, remember. It was supposed to be a peace talk and they were doing the meeting away from the colonies so it would be neutral territory. Baltar had the trust of the President and that is how it happened.

    • @Ashworth6
      @Ashworth6 4 роки тому

      @Alysandir I don't think it was mentioned in the movie/telemovie but the novelisation and comic book adaption refer to President Adar as a tired, worn-down old man who had spent his life at war with the Cylons and was desperate to attain peace as his final legacy. It is this state of mind that caused him to make the unwise choices of trusting Baltar's word and deploying the fleet away from the Colonies.

    • @jerrycasey1635
      @jerrycasey1635 2 роки тому

      The President made it expressly forbiden to launch...

    • @classicgalactica5879
      @classicgalactica5879 Рік тому

      The President forbade any Battlestar from launching Vipers. Adama ordered a weapons station drill, so the Galactica was ready to launch it's Vipers at a seconds notice. It's point defense weapons were also up and ready to go. The other Battlestar's were on standown, and were sitting ducks when the Cylons attacked. They managed to launch only a handful of Vipers, which later landed aboard the Galactica. The Pegasus was presumed lost, but was actually deep space, the only survivor of a massive battle between Colonial and Cylon forces. It was too far away from the Colonies to be of any assistance.

  • @MORE1500
    @MORE1500 5 років тому

    As I recall, the Colonies had pushed the Cylon Empire to the breaking point and this forced the Empire to resort to deception to win the war. The Cylons knew Baltar was treacherous and had a lust for power. Using him as a pawn they were able to convince the Colonies that their overture of peace was genuine and the Colonies let down their guard. The result, 70 billion humans were killed in the holocaust. This was spelled out in a Battlestar Galactica handbook I purchased at a SciFi convention around 1982.

    • @DaleLongGoldCylon
      @DaleLongGoldCylon 5 років тому

      Since it is a handbook it is someones opinion in print. You could never find that information from Glen Larson's desk or MCA official release. It does offer a nice twist from the TV story line.

      It was the reverse. The Colonial military had been quite devastated by the wars and had few ships left. Thus the colonies were desperate for peace.
