I've heard in places outside the US and Europe especially Revelation is one of the more popular books. These people under constant oppression look forward to God's Justice being meted out, Satan losing and the world's restoration.
Awesome study! I am so grateful that we study online I've had some type of virus all month long. I can't go too far without a Kleenex box. Anyway, I love the Book of Revelations it helps us prepare, and helps make sense of the days we are living in. Thank you again. I hope you guys have a beautiful Thanksgiving with your son and your family. God bless💓🙏🏻
The date is wrong on Todays service 10/20/2024. Great message Pastor Tim. I was attending another service studying 1 Corinthians 5:1-8 today that fell in line with what you shared about your dad. It's amazing how God works. Thank you for always having online services I appreciate it greatly. I hope everyone has a good week. Pray without ceasing. 🙏💖
America and possibly the UK I do believe are mentioned in the Gog Magog prophecy and in Revelation, they are "The Isles" or "The distant Isles" mentioned in Isaiah. God proclaims the nations are a small thing to him, and that they would come to know and wait on him and praise his name in the Isles. Academically minded might say these Isles refer to local Islands to the land of Israel, but I would ask; Did those Isles convert to Judiasm? If not then the context wasn't rooted in historic application but spiritual application, not a phrase for the people of the time but of all time. In other words; America and the UK are mentioned biblically in a couple of places but in context of Gog Magog they are those whom are "Dwelling carelessly in the Isles" that God sends fire upon. In as much as Gog Magog demonstrated God to the world and results in an earthshattering earthquake and all people Knowing God, I do believe this battle is within the Revelation. The question is when. At it's time Gog sees Israel as being at peace and defenseless. Clearly not the case now nor any time throughout its history. This remarkable peace could be the result of a deal with the Antichrist.
Thank you so much for this awesome study. I'm praying that you feel better soon. Whatever it is that continues to spread, we just got to keep on doing the do. I appreciate your spirit thanks for showing up for us.
Powerful study, aligns with current days. I'm grateful to have a church family. Thank you Pastor Tim. I love the women's bible study too. I make it a practice to read a chapter before I get my day started and then before I sleep. Lately I've been praying throughout the day. Thanks again
Thank you for another amazing study today in the Book of Revelations. I am so grateful for the Bible studies. The Bible is where I feel most comfortable these days. 🙏😊
Exceptional study this week. I absolutely loved how you connected Revelations with Daniel because that is the only way it makes sense as we study this complex book and how it all comes together. I have studied in many different groups, I really enjoy the way you teach and the tools that you use. Thank you so much Pastor Tim! 😁👍✝️🙏
Outstanding studying. You broke it down beautifully. We cannot fear persecution because we know who triumphs in the end and the gift is eternal life. We must stand up against evil and speak out about it and stand up for what we believe in! God bless you Pastor Tim that was amazing. ❤🙏✝️
All the signs are aligning. America has never experienced things that we are going through today, it's happening on a global level. Christians have to be prepared as well as help save Souls. Thank you for the book study, I always gain from them. 🙏 Praying for all.
Loved " Stay away from Grumblers and complainers" Be a part of the solution, not the problem. Thank you. Great Lesson. It's progress, not perfection. God Bless 🙏
I wasn't feeling good at all this morning and wanted to come to church so bad after what took place yesterday. I'm so grateful for the online service it was awesome today. God bless you and all your new family members. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. ❤🙏
Thank you for this wonderful study today. A great reminder to just stay in the book and watch out for false teachers. When you spoke about addictions, certainly the obvious ones. I found this and thought I would put it here. The Seven Deadly Sins They include; Pride, Greed, Wrath, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, and Sloth The seven deadly sins often stand in contrast to the seven heavenly virtues, which include; Prudence, Justice, Temperance, Courage, Faith, Hope, and Charity. I think we are all just a work in progress. Staying in the Bible helps me stay on track for sure. 🙏☺️
What's remarkable is Peter was a fisherman God used to teach the Pharisees, the academic elite of the time who would have considered themselves far more versed on Godly things! While Paul was a Pharisee sent by God to teach the gentiles, who didn't even have a foundation of the depths of things he understood, even called it foolishness! But through them, God reached multitudes throughout time! No man would ever have thought that would work, which is why I imagine God chose them! ✝
Thank you so much for re-posting your podcast. We look forward to hearing you twice every week. We wish we could be there to help with all of the good you do for others.
I am so grateful Pastor Tim stayed obedient to God's call and did NOT Go to Hawaii but chose New Beginnings and First Congregational. Its where I grew to Love God, Grew in my faith to know God and serve Him with my whole life, and I found my calling to be the Pastor God has called me to be. John 12:26 Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.
I got interested in this subject a number of years ago and dove in deep. I wanted an answer as to why the Bible condoned slavery. And I must say, your answer is one I have not heard before. But a couple corrections to some things you said in the sermon first. You kept talking about "indentured slaves". I do not consider indentured servitude as slavery because it's only for a certain amount of time and then they are released. You even mentioned that in your sermon. But you said that the Israelites were forced to release their slaves every seven years, and their "indentured slaves too". That's only partly true though. They only had to release their indentured HEBREW servants. This year of release only applied to Hebrews, not foreigners. It was the foreigners who were the lifelong chattel slaves in the Bible. And this is the issue, not the rules for Hebrews who had to be released, but the rules for foreigners who never were. You also said that "Hebrews were the only people to release their slaves after a period of time". This is simply not true. It was common in the Ancient Near East at the time for citizen "slaves" or indentured servants. In fact, while the Bible says Hebrews are to be released after 6 years of service (not seven) the Code of Hammurabi says citizens are to be released after only 3 years of service. And this was in place at the same time the Bible (at least the Pentateuch) was written and being followed. So this was actually quite common as opposed to being unique. You also said that "There's nowhere in the Bible that says go out and conquer a people and make them your slaves". That's not quite true either. Deuteronomy 20:10-11; "When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you". And you said, "There's nowhere in the Bible that says go out and buy a bunch of people and make them do all your hard work for you". And here is the root of the issue to be honest. If what you mean is that God never commanded the Israelites to own slaves then I agree. But that's no different from America. There was no law in America that said you had to own slaves. Only that you could if you wanted to. And that's what the Bible does. You didn't have to own slaves in the Bible, but slavery is condoned. You could if you wanted to. And the Bible tells us how to do it correctly. And as you said, never once condemns the practice of slavery. Not in the Old Testament, and not in the New Testament. But we get passages like Leviticus 25:44-46 which says; "As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you. You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be you property. You may bequeath them to you sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another ruthlessly" This is chattel slavery plain and simple. And this is the Bible condoning it. Owning people as property for their entire lives, along with any children born to them. And a whole host of rules. The most important of which was that you could not enslave your fellow Hebrews. Only the foreigners. "Why" has always been my problem and my question. And it seems like your answer is because suffering is good for us? I kind of agree that we learn a lot through suffering sure. I certainly agree that people today, especially young people, think they should not have to suffer. But is slavery really the answer here? Should we sell our children today into slavery so that they can learn this lesson? If not, why not? Children were born into slavery in the Bible, generation after generation. Owned as property for their entire lives, passed down as an inheritance by their owner to his children. Because the Bible says it's ok. Is the answer because their suffering was good for them? Really? I enjoyed the sermon very much to be honest. And I agreed with a lot of it. But to answer the question of why the Bible condoned chattel slavery with "suffering was good for them" rings completely hollow to me. To me, there is never a moral reason to own another human being as property for their entire lives, along with any children they may have. This is always wrong and immoral. We just don't get that from the Bible. And I do not understand that.
