The IRA during World War II was actually working with the German military intelligence - the Abwehr which was then under Canaris. Canaris was turned by British intelligence and executed by Hitler in the final days of the war for treason. The Germans diverted valuable resources to the IRA's masturbatory plans and the IRA fed heaps of bullshit to the Germans, so they actually helped the British. Go figure.
